First off, let me congratulate Surflexus for taking down the Mookie last night. I was down VERY early when my pocket kings were cracked by hacker59's quad 8's. OOPS! I just kept betting right into him too. Later on I was able to double up when I sucked out on BrainMC's two pair (when I rivered a higher two pair). Finally, I went out when my AK ran up against Smokkee's AQ and he got the Q. Oh well. At least I didn't bubble.
Today I had to go to orientation at the Red Rock Casino. It started at 7:30 a.m. and I was there til about 5:30 p.m. LOOONG DAY! I'm not used to doing much of anything, so it was tough on me. hehe Tomorrow is going to be the big test cause I start working full-time. I haven't worked in a few months and if that wasn't bad enough, I'm working the graveyard shift (11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.) It's gonna be a true test for me. I'm still pretty young though and I think I'll be able to handle it. Nothing is forever. They tell me that I can switch hours or switch jobs within the company after 90 days. I can do anything for 90 days right?
I have to say I'm pretty impressed with Station Casino's as a whole. They own 15 properties and they are breaking ground on 3 new ones within the next 2 years. The benefits package is outstanding and the potential for growth is HUGE. Can you believe I get 50 percent off of all the services at the spa? I'm psyched! Oh, and did I mention that they have an empoyee cafeteria that is free to all of the employees? When I say "cafeteria" what I mean is a full service restaurant with a salad bar, pizza bar, sandwich bar, dessert bar, a grill (where they will make anything you want) and lots of daily specials too. It's open 24 hours! If I was really cheap, I could go and eat there for every freakin meal. I'm not that cheap though.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to this challenge and now MiamiDon can embark on his new career too. Win-Win situation.
Since tonight is my last night before I start working, I think we'll head to the MGM Grand for a little celebration in the poker room.
