Update
Just a quick update for everyone. My computer will NOT connect to the internet. It was working fine until my roommate called and asked if she could borrow the modem to hook up to her computer. She was not able to connect and now all of a sudden I can't connect. I get an error that says something about the IP address. The account is not in my name so I have to wait for the owner of the house to come back from California so that I can get in touch with Cox Communications.
Anyway - in case you are wondering where this post is coming from - I stopped by Don's house and watched the last few minutes of the BIG GAME. Kat baby baby baby - I feel for you - I'm always the bubble girl - never the winner. I was rooting for you girl.
I hope to be back online very soon!!

go into DOS and try: ipconfig /release hit enter, the ipconfig /renew.

Carmen, I had the same problem and had to remove my modem from my configuration and let my computer recognize it and add it as new hardware........ surf

yeah, just power cycle everything (unplug the power cord, wait 2 minutes, then plug it back in, then turn on your comp)

If you have broadband you might try shutting down your computer then unpluging the modem and router if you have one for 30 seconds. Plug the power back on and reboot. Good luck. :)
