Blood, Glass and Thieves

As I pulled into work this morning, I noticed a swarm of cop cars leaving the business park. I didn't think much of it until I pulled into my usual spot and there was an undercover detective standing in front of the office. He's like "do you work here miss?" I'm like hmmmm, should I lie? Wait a minute, I didn't do anything wrong. "Yes, I work here". Well, we just wanted to let you know there was a break-in, but the security guard won.

Apparently someone tried to break into our office for the third time in two years. The first time this happened I wasn't working here yet. There was a ring of thieves that worked for an alarm company. We were just moving into this building and when we called to have these guys come out and give us an estimate on the alarm, these guys broke in that very night (since they knew there was no alarm) and cleaned out the place. They were caught eventually. The second time I guess a new set of thieves got in and stole the plasma T.V. out of our conference room. We have a state of the art alarm system now with motion sensors all over the place. Last night someone tried to break in and the roaming security patrol caught him. He hit the guard with a bat or something over the head and the security guy shot him. YES - SHOT HIM! There is blood and glass all over the sidewalk right outside of my door. LOVELY! Shouldn't this be cause for a day off or something? I don't think I should have to work under these stressful conditions. hehe

Anyway, I'm really surprised because this is a nice neighborhood, there is rarely any violence over here, but for some reason, we have a lot of break ins. I guess because it's a business park and most of the companies have a lot of high tech gadgets.

UPDATE!! I just went to the bathroom and there was a bullet hole that came through the wall and ricocheted off of the stall and we found the bullet on the floor. UMMMMM - obviously the CSI guys weren't here to investigate because they wouldn't have missed this evidence.

I didn't have a chance to watch Dancing with the Stars last night, I'll sit down and watch it tonight and give a summary later in the evening.

It's also possible that the location of your office has a lot of different escape routes or it can't be viewed from the road.

The one thing I'll point out is that in order for the thieves to know about the high tech gadgets, they have to know they're there. How they pull that off, I don't know.

Dude, seriously?! I hope you called the cops and said something like, "Uh, yeah. Your crack detectives completely missed a bullet that's in our bathroom. Can you send them by to pick it up? Thanks."

Good grief!

Why people do what they do is beyond me.

Last month someone called my office and threatened to come down and shoot everyone with a shotgun...not so funny since just a week or so before that some kid went on a rampage at a nearbyish mall and killed quite a few innocent people. Crazies I say, crazies.

Holy crap, what a way to start the week.

At least no one else was in the building at the time. Bullet hole or holes?

If only one, and the security guy shot the robber then the police probably didnt care about the bullet. So no cute CSI guys for you......Besides, you know the real CSI people are either old and haggard or gay anyway.

Dancing.....Billy Ray has to go first, he truly is terrible, Paula isn't much better. I say that it will come down to Ian or Joey with Ali's daughter as a possible spoiler.

Don't fix the bullet hole. It would be a great thing to show any prospective new employees just to see the look on their faces. If they don't run screaming from the building they're hired!

Crrrrrazy! Sometimes the CSI guys just don't give a shit. I had a car stolen about 10 years ago. The cops found it and called me. While I was looking over the carnage that had been my interior, I found a screwdriver that they'd obviously used to start the car after they'd torn out the ignition cylinder. I called the officer over and told him it wasn't mine, and asked if he wanted it for prints or something. He didn't even look and just said that they'd probably not be able to get anything off of it, so don't worry about it. Thanks for trying! Still, I used the thing to start the car and drive it home! Glad you're ok. Dear and Patient GF has me watching Dancing...here's hoping that a leg comes flying off!
