Poker at the Nugget

So, yesterday my dad flew into town and he arrived pretty early, but I had to work all day, so I was dying to get out of here so I could go see him. Finally I left at 5:00 p.m. on the dot and drove downtown to the Golden Nugget where he was playing poker with Weak and MiamiDon. Yay!! I hadn't been to the Golden Nugget in like a year. They moved the poker room and I guess they upgraded it although it doesn't look much different and they also built a new pool. Oh my god this pool is FANTASTIC!! I love it.

If you take a good look, you can see that there is a shark tank in the middle of the pool and then there is a water slide that goes through the center.

They also have several decks so that you can sit up higher and look down. They have private cabanas that you can rent and chairs that sit in the pool so that you never have to be dry.

My parents are staying there in July, so I'll be hanging out there for sure and I'm gonna keep one of the room keys so that I can go there whenever I want. I think my mom said she's paying $52 a night. So, if your looking for a cheap place to stay when you are in town, check out the Nugget.

We had a pretty cool group of people playing at our table. This one guy in particular, Paul, was great. We really liked him. He lives in town and owns Kilroy's, home of the world's greatest burgers.

My dad is on the right and Paul is on the left.

So, we headed out to Fremont Street and went over to Sam Boyd's casino to eat dinner. I wanted to go to Tony Roma's cause I had never been there and the ribs looked good. They were very good! Somehow they gave Don the wrong fish. It was so obvious too because he ordered Mahi and they gave him Salmon. YUCK. I hate salmon and it's pink. Mahi is white. They felt bad and took it off the bill so that was cool at least. I think the waitress probably rang in the wrong fish because I can't imagine that a chef would confuse the two.

Here's me and my dad...

Some passerbys took this picture of us...

Notice the guy standing up on the left. We don't know him, but he was colorful and his girlfriend took the picture, so we let him get in. He was carrying a purse, but he put it down for the picture. hehe

Anyway, I guess I better do some work now.

Oh, I heard on the radio this morning that Apollo got a perfect score last night on his dance, so I'm really excited to watch Dancing with the Stars tonight. I also heard that Heather's leg didn't quite fall off, but she fell last night. Hmmm. I'm still hoping the leg will fly off at some point - I should have placed my bet on Bodog.

What the hell is up with that picture of weak? lol. I wish the guy kept his purse.. cause that would just perfect the Gay Weak and Prison Boyfriend picture.

The fall was spectacular. The +1200 line on the leg flying off flashed before my eyes in slow motion as Showcase and I jumped off the couch. Can't wait for your recap.

The Golden Nugget is a great hotel. The rooms are really nice and that pool looks awesome! I would prefer to stay on the strip, but if staying downtown, the Nugget is the place to stay.
