Dead Again...

Work was good today. I am learning the job, it's interesting, the day went by pretty fast and I didn't totally hate getting off at 6 p.m. Yeah, the sun was down and everyone else gets to leave at 5 p.m. but on the flip side, I had enough work to keep me busy the whole time and I actually got to read a few blogs today.

What did SUCK was that when I went out to lunch, I stopped at the gas station, filled up and then went to start my car and it was DEAD! The battery died on me AGAIN. This has been an ongoing problem since I bought the piece of shit car and I bought a new battery from Sears a month or two ago, so something is definitely going on - maybe the alarm or the stereo is draining the battery or maybe the alternator is bad. I dunno. I got a jump at the gas station, picked up lunch, headed back to the office and the when I got off, the damn thing wouldn't start again. I had to get another jump from a guy at work and I went striaght to Sears where the guy tested my battery and the levels were fine. He found a loose wire and fixed it and it worked. I went to my meeting tonight and the car sat for an hour and a half and it started up just fine. So, the true test will be tomorrow morning when I head off to work. I am PRAYING that it will start, but I'm worried that it won't. God, car stuff gets on my nerves so bad. This car thing couldn't have happened at a worse time, my roommate is out of town, I have no boyfriend to "Save" me and I have a brand new job and I definitely don't want to take off work. UGH!

Click Here to read my latest poker room review.

I'm hoping it's nice this weekend because next on my list if the Paris! I hope to do a poker room review and a pool review in one fell swoop! Check this out, I've never been to the Paris. I don't think. I can't remember ever being there, so it'll be fun! I might have been there back when I was drinking, but I don't remember much from those days.

Blast from the past....

Recently a friend sent this picture to me, it was taken in Caesar's Palace in Atlantic City, I had never been to Las Vegas and I thought Atlantic City was the SHIT!!!!! Wow, ignorance is bliss huh?? A.C. was certainly better than Baltimore and that's where I was used to hanging out.

I'm so laughing at this picture - my hair was too long, my pants were too tight, my shirt was too short and I was probably on beer #9 and it wasn't even noon yet.

If only I knew then what I know now. I guess everyone says that though :)

Batteries are supposed to last, at the very least, 5 years. I figure your alternator is boned.

The loose cable (and a corroded terminal)is one of the common problems for batteries. If the battery tested good, I'd say the cable was the culprit. What does your voltmeter (if your car has one)read when you are driving?

Hopefully that wire or a cable is the only problem. Did the Sears guy test or check the alternator?

I've never been to Paris either. Actually never been to the REAL Paris OR the Paris casino.

Have to agree with those that said it might be the alternator.

Nice poker room review. They need new chairs, tho. I don't think I could get serious in those child-like cartoony chairs. LOL

Car trouble always happens at the worst times! Hopefully, it was just the loose cable.

I hate when cars break down. That crap is so inconvenient.

On another note....the guy on the end on your right is HAWT!!!

Car trouble is always such a pain. It's always something worse than you hope for. That's my experience, at least.

When you start your car the battery takes a pretty big drain. As the car runs the battery is charged back up by the alternator. If you don't drive very far between destinations it's possible for your battery to not get enough charge stored back up to start the vehicle again.

Like mesquiter said, the loose cable might be the fix to your problem, but if you take your car to most any auto parts store they can test your alternator. If your alternator is fine and it wasn't just a loose cable then you just need to let your car run a bit more between destinations.
