So, last night we bowled and I'm telling you - it was a fiasco.

First off, the league starts at 6:30. They turn the lanes on at 6:20 so that you can practice for 10 minutes. I get there at 6. I get my shoes, I inform them that we'll have a sub so that they can fix the names on the screen and then I text my teammates and let them know what lane we are on. I find my ball, I rent my shoes and by this time it's lik 6:15 and noboby from my team has shown up. I'm super super OCD about being on time. It's a major issue with me. Right before I left work I specifically told everyone to be there at 6:10 so that we can get everyting situated. There is a league that plays right after us, so we can't dilly dally. We need to start on time and we need to pay attention and keep the game moving.

So, at 6:30 the lanes light up and it's time to bowl - but we are missing one player. She's nowhere to be found and she's not answering her phone. I am beyond livid. She strolls in finally around 6:40. Of course she doesn't have her shoes on yet and we are all waiting on her to bowl. She's holding up everyone. I had to take deep breaths or else I was going to lose it.

So, of course this is the first time any of us have ever played on a league, so we are newbies and we don't really know all of the rules. The team we were playing against kind of pulled us aside and explained that you have to be behind the red line when someone else is bowling. I know about lane etiquette, but I didn't realize you had to actually be behind the line, I just thought you could stand at the edge of the lane and pick up your ball and then go when the person next to you finished. So, he explains the rules to us and we thank him and that's that. Not 10 minutes later the freaking president of the league comes over to us and says that there have been some complaints about us and that we need to stay behind the line when it's not our turn - blah blah. I'm like "seriously?" They fucking went to the lane president and complained?????? Get a fucking life people. It's supposed to be fun. These people take this game so seriously - it's annoying as hell.

Well, anyway, I actually bowled pretty well considering all the drama I had to deal with.

I think the next time we join a league, I'm going top try o find a more laid back and fun leage.
