Um really??

I'm sitting at work and it's around 4 p.m. when my co-worker and fellow teammate informs me that she might have to leave the bowling alley early tonight. I'm like "what the hell? Um - you can't leave early, it's a league - it doesn't work that way". I won't lie - I was extremely annoyed. Apparently her husband made plans with the other coaches on their son's softball team to have a little strategy meeting and throw back a couple of beers. He wasn't sure how long the little beerfest was going to last and someone needed to pick up their son. That's all fine and dandy, but hello - we had these plans for a week. It's not like it was a surprise. I mean - why couldn't she just tell him to do it another night? Or, why couldn't the son come to the bowling alley with her? I used to go with my parents faithfully every single week. They gave me quarters - I played pac man, donkey kong and gallagher and ate pizza and fries. It was all good.

I just don't understand people sometimes. How do you make plans to join a bowling team and then you can't even coordinate simple things like picking up your kid? If I was married, I would have told my husband "tough luck - I had these plans first and deal with it" or I would have told the kid "your coming with me - entertain yourself or do homework or something for an hour". Maybe this is why I'm still single. Maybe I'm really bad at give and take. I dunno. When I mentioned that she should bring the kid with her she was like "oh, he won't come if he doesn't get to bowl too." Um really? Because I was never given that choice when I was a kid, I sucked it up, went along with my parents and found ways to entertain myself. Are kids that spoiled today that they don't do anything ever that doesn't specifically benefit and please them?

At any rate, I managed to grab another guy from the floor and persuaded him to bowl with us tonight. All in all it worked out fine. I kept my cool even though I wanted to give her a serious attitude. She's a good girl though and I'm definitely going to let it go - shit happens sometimes I guess.

So, my first game I bowled a 156. I've never ever ever bowled higher than like a 110 so it was pretty f'in amazing for me to score that high. Second game was like 130 something and last game was like 120. I literally had the highest score from my team the first two games. I'm pretty pleased with my scores. The guy on the lanes two down from us ended up 1 pin away from a perfect 300 score. Wow - these people don't mess around. The Southpoint is more of a locals casino and the people on this league definitely take their bowling seriously. They had their own balls, their own shoes, special towels, fancy little bowling bags - the whole 9 yards.

Me and Courtney...

Courtney is the newest person on the admin staff - she's very cool, she's going through a divorce, we are both single and without kids and we are hanging out this weekend. I think her and I are going to become really good friends. I just have that feeling!

Willie and Courtney...

Courtney was so funny. She didn't know any of the rules. Like, there is certain lane etiquette (you don't bowl at the same time that someone else is bowling -
you let them go first and you stand back) - we pretty much had to teach her everything from scratch - she's a quick learner though...

I promise I won't bore u guys with bowling scores every week. Tonight was a one time deal - happy hump day tomorrow!

I would have lost my mind with that woman. First of all, tell your husband to deal with it. He is a parent too. And second, don't you tell your kids what to do and not vice versa???

Some people are crazy!

Glad you had fun.

As long as there are more pics of Courtney, I can deal with posts about bowling scores.

what game is "gallagher"? Is it the one where you shoot alien spaceships (Galaga) or is the one where you smash watermelons and other stuff with a huge hammer?

That chick must have a strange child. Bowling allies are paradise for a kid. All those video games and candy and soda. My brother and I used to love running wild while my parents bowled.

If Courtney is a transvestite I'm gay. I don't know when kids started taking over who runs the show. The kids would run over Letty if I didn't get involved. Oh, and I'm a bowling alley orphan as well.

Yes, kids are that spoiled these days and it's ridiculous. Parents like that make me want to slap them and scream, Hello!! He/she is a CHILD. They don't get options!! LOL

Sounds like it was fun night!
