Get out there and vote!
So, once a month we go to my sponsor's house and we have a pot luck type thing and we all share about what's going on in our lives. It's supposed to be a safe place to talk about anything, get feedback from one another and just do some girly bonding. Most of the girls have kids, but only two of them ever bring their boys with them.
One of the boys is like one year old and the other boy is like 2 or 2 and a half. And I gotta say - he's freaking bad! He drive me nuts. He throws his toys all around, he throws temper tantrums, he is constantly getting into stuff, and his mother doesn't even correct him. She just lets him run wild. Not to mention that this is a new house that my sponsor is renting with hard wood floors and lots of nice breakable stuff.
I kind of feel like she shouldn't even bring the kid because it's not a 'kid friendly' place. But, if she has to bring him, he needs to be taught some boundaries and he needs to be disciplined when he acts out. I can't freaking concentrate on anything that is being said because he is running wild.
I dunno, maybe all boys at that age act like that. But, I don't think so. I've seen other kids at that age and I don't recall them acting this way. I think it's the mother. I think she just doesn't take the time to teach him.
My sponsor is a better person than I because I don't know how she sits there and watches him tear her house apart. She did actually get up a few times to follow him into the other room and tell him "no - don't touch that".
Anyway, I'm just venting.
So, that was a long 4 hours on Sunday at her house. The rest of the weekend flew by in typical weekend style.
My parents are officially moving here tomorrow and closing on their brand new house Friday.
I'm going to see Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian Saturday night. Has anyone ever seen that show? I hear it's good. You really can't go wrong when you see a show at the Venetian - they put together some amazing performances with brilliant lighting and costumes and music etc.
In an exciting twist of events - Toni Braxton was sent packing last night. Surprising that 82 year old Cloris Leachman is still hanging around but young hottie and much better dancer, Toni gets the axe - truly unbelievable but that's Dancing with the Stars!
And for the first time ever in my life - I'm going to vote today! There's an early voting place right across the street from my work so I'm going to do it today at lunch. Very exciting stuff!
Why wait until election day when you get do it today??
