Sausage Incident

Roommate and I spent the day over at the rent's new house. It's amazing! It's even better than I remembered. The best thing is that they bought a model home and all of the furniture came with. So, it's decorated beautifully. I would buy it in a heartbeat. The only bad thing is that it's 40 minutes away from my house and that's on a Sunday without any traffic. Just imagine if I had to drive over there on a weekday in like rush hour traffic. Literally, it would take about an hour and a half or more.

At any rate, we had a great day. My mom made my favorite dish - pork chops and stuffed baked baked potatoes and a salad. YUMM!!!! The Ravens won so that made it an even better day.

All in all I had a really good weekend.

It was so cute, because they live in a retirement community. You have to be 55 years old or over to buy a house and they are hooked up with amenities. They have like two awesome pools and a nice clubhouse with a POKER ROOM and pool tables and like bingo night and tennis courts and a basketball court and tons of other stuff. So, we took a walk through the neighborhood and so many of the neighbors were sitting outside enjoying the beautiful 80 degree weather. They were all like "hi, how ya doing? Nice to meet you - Life is great huh?" It was like we were back in the olden days where people actually enjoyed their neighbors and left their doors wide open and you could trust people. So, even though they live way out in the boonies, it's probably worth it because it's such a friendly quiet community.

I think it's going to work out better than I ever imagined.

My amazing boss took us out for lunch on Friday to Claim Jumper. Has anyone ever eaten there? The food is very good and the portions are like 3 times bigger than any other restaurant. I was FULL as hell after we shared an appetizer so you know I was really hurting when the actual lunch came.

I love my job and my boss so much. I know I hate going to work sometimes, but I am damn lucky to have this job. I need to say that more often.

-------------------------------

So, let me tell you about Lucy. She's been getting awful ballsy lately. I'm eating my thai food in the living room watching T.V. and I'm just about finished, but I get up to go to the bathroom and when I come back she's on the couch leaning over the coffee table finishing off my spicy basil chicken. Not good! She never does that! I was shocked.

I yell at her, she looks all sad and sorry for a few minutes and you know I can't stay mad so whatever.

Next day, Roommate is making dinner for us and we are having spicy italian sausage. It's raw and he's preparing it on the counter in the kitchen. He leaves the kitchen - I think you know where this is going - he comes back and she's got her paws up on the counter, she polished off one whole raw sausage and is just about to eat number two when he immediately flips out on her and makes sure she knows she is wrong. He's better at disciplining her than I am. But, good god. I don't know what has gotten into her lately.

She's been good ever since the sausage incident so we'll see how it goes. It's all my fault though. I should have never started feeding her from my plate. You give them and inch and they'll take a mile...

Regarding your work situation, I always say that I love my job, but I hate working. I think that probably sums it up for you too. It's not that I think I could get a better job. I love my job. I just hate the fact that I have to be here every day from x to y o'clock. No matter what my job was, I'd probably feel that way. So, I love my job; I just hate working.

Make sure the pup doesn't get sick from all that crazy eating.

Glad you parents are close!

Lots of times dogs will act out if they're suddenly getting less attention of time with either you or your roomate. When I have to work late, 9 times out of 10, Samson will go into the trash....just like your little sneaky girl :) Stay home with her and lay in bed for a day- betcha that will fix her :)

I totally have to watch my pups around ANY kind of food we are preparing or eating. The younger one has gotten ON the table to eat stuff. little stinker.

hey, can you email me at thisishowweroll@live.com so we can make some arrangements for meeting up? We're coming in on Tues and I think it'd be great if we could meet Tues or Wed for dinner? Thurs & Fri we are probably doing birthday things with my bro. Just let me know what your schedule is like.

It's what dogs do- they eat food. I figure they can't help it, so it's up to their humans to make sure they can't reach!

Awww - the pup just wants to try some of what you're having....

Nah, I get it. Shadow's the same, except she's a food snot now. When I buy pancetta, I have to get some sliced for her - and god forbid if it's regular bacon - that cat turns her nose up quicker than Giada de Laurentiis at someone saying Spagetti the right way. Ugh!
