Good Time

This is definitely one of the best trips I've had with my parents out here in Las Vegas. Last time of course was GREAT because I hit a royal flush at the Nugget and my mom and I got to spend a lot of time together, but my dad wasn't here and my mom didn't win any money. This time we've all been winning and even though it's not about the money, it's still nice when we all win. I'm sure you guys can all relate.

Today was the best. Roommate and I met my parents at Planet Hollywood for the 2 p.m. tourney. They jacked up the prices! The tournament used to be $65.00 and today we had to pay $80.00. When I'm playing with my parents, we like to play in the lower stakes tournaments, because to be honest, none of us are that great. I mean, we all play online and I've won a few tournaments, but usually I just play cash when I'm at the casino.

Anyway, we all played at different tables and my mom and I both ended up at the final table sitting side by side. Literally, she was in seat 7 and I was in seat 8. She was the chip leader and I was the short stack, but I had a great comeback and three of us ended chopping the money three ways. It was amazing because my mom has never won a tournament and hell, for us to both walk away with $550.00 in our pockets just feels great. 3rd and 4th place went to a husband and wife team. They were cool as hell. I had a blast. The only thing that would have made it better was if my dad would have won too. He won at the Red Rock and The Golden Nugget yesterday though.

We watched the Ravens put up a GOOD fight only to lose in overtime to the Steelers which was a minor snag in my day, but oh well. It's not like I was betting on them or anything. Dinner at PF Changs was delicious and I have leftovers for work tomorrow.

Roommate hit quads over at the No Limit Table and they had a high hand jackpot, so he won a few ducketts too.

Anyway, enough about that.

I love Planet Hollywood and I've mentioned it before. They've done some excellent things with the place since the renovation and switching it over from Aladdin to P Ho. However, let me give you a list of the ripoffs to watch out for...

1. If you aren't playing and you want a bottle of water and you buy it in the casino, be prepared to pay $4.00 for a SMALL one. I'm talking 8 ounces of water - not 16 ounces.

2. They took 27% of each person's buy-in at tourney and gave it to the house/dealers. I knew that and I still tipped the dealers just because, whatever, it's free money to me, but STILL - 27% is pretty fucked up.

3. No free drinks in the sportsbook. If you are watching the games, you still have to pay. It's annoying. The girl literally came around one time in an hour. I have no idea what she was doing for the whole rest of the hour, but even when she did come over, we had to pay for drinks. I walked my ass to the ABC Store because there was no way I was paying outrageous prices for a bottle of water.

4. Slot machines - tight as hell. I know I know - they say it's random and that they have no control over the slots, but I've never won any money on the slots over there and neither has my mom or my dad. Not a dime.





So, that's just a couple of the minor expenses that come along with playing at the Planet Hollywood. There are ways around it - you just gotta be smart. If you want to drink for free - play poker - it's the best way to stretch your money out.

Bring bottled water with you or buy it in the ABC Store in the little mall. Always get a players card because a lot of times they will give you free slot play or coupons for dinner, etc.

Oh, and, long time reader, David, if John Harbaugh the new Ravens coach ever comes out with a jersey, that'll be the one I'm wearing because he is just VERY good looking.

Feels Good

Oh my god - not to rub it in, but hell yeah it's nice to have a Monday off from work. Ahhhhhh - I'm a happy girl right now.

So, basically I'm just chillin this morning. Playing a little poker online and watching T.V.

I let my parents take my car to the Golden Nugget last night and they are heading over to their new house this morning to sign paperwork and obviously check it out to make sure they picked the right model. It's kind of hard to pick a house in Las Vegas when you are living in Maryland right?

Later today roommate and I are meeting my parents over at Planet Hollywood to play in an afternoon Texas Hold Em Tourney and then we are going to the Sports Book to watch the BIG RAVENS and PITTSBURGH GAME (I'll be wearing my Ravens jersey or course) and then we will ending the night with a delicious dinner at one of my favorite haunts - P.F. Changes. Love them lettuce wraps!

What did everyone think of the Office Season Premier last week? Did you guys love it as much as I did? Fingers crossed that Angela ends up with Dwight, Pam and Jim get married and I love the new HR chick and Michael together. What a perfect couple they make.




So, recently I got an e-mail from Classmates.com and they were inviting me to some sort of function for the class of 1991 back in Maryland. It wasn't a reunion necessarily, but it was like a get together at a bar. I had no plans of attending, but I opened the invitation and they had included a group picture of some chicks from my class. I was thinking "who the hell are these old chicks? I don't know these girls, they all look old" and then I realized that SHIT - I went to high school with these girls and I am actually that old too. UGH - HARSH REALITY!!

Hey Joanna (my buddy back home in Pasadena)- do you recognize any of these chicks???? I haven't a clue...

The Return of Drama Queen

I went to the Red Rock Movies tonight with Drama Queen. Some of you may remember that I dated him about a year ago and he pretty much fucked me over sort of. I mean, he didn't cheat on me or anything, but he just hurt me when he decided he "just wasn't into me anymore". He also mentioned something about the relationship not having enough drama - thus the nickname "Drama Queen". For a while we didn't speak and then little by little we started hanging out again. Honestly, we see each other every week at the meetings, so there is really no sense in holding a grudge. Not to mention we have a lot of the same friends. I do see a big change in him though. As far as I know, he hasn't been in a relationship since we broke up and he's been doing a lot of work to better himself, so it's all good.

Anyway, I didn't think I was going to like the movie we saw - Burn After Reading with Brad Pitt and George Clooney. DAYUMM - I really liked it. It was like slapstick comedy but it held my interest the entire time which is very hard to do. I laughed my ass off. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a good comedy. The only disappointing part of the movie was that they went totally out of their way to make the two hotties, George and Brad look unattractive. Surprising I know! Why would you ever want to make the heart throbs look ugly? Probably because they are both super talented and they don't even need to rely on their looks. Amazing concept I know!








Are these the two most unflattering pictures of the boys that you've ever seen? It was a little heartbreaking. Thank god the movie rocked!!

Well TGIF Peeps! I'm looking forward to a three day weekend with my parents coming to town and of course the BIG Monday Night Football Game - GO RAVENS!!!!!!!!!!!

DWTS - Week One

Okay, I just watched the second night of Dancing with the Stars. Obviously Edyta The Body is gone and tonight they were kicking off another couple.


The first couple to dance was Lacy Schwimmer and Lance Bass - they rocked it. I'm not sure yet, but I think they are my favorite couple. I love them. They have GREAT chemistry, not to mention I'm a huge fan of the gays. They did the quickstep - it was super fun and energetic. They are awesome performers and they know how to please the crowd. Of course, the quickstep is supposed to be very elegant, so the judges weren't exactly pleased, but I loved it so whatever.




Next up was Misty May from the Olympics and Maxim...



They definitely aren't my favorite. It's obvious that she's a bit uncomfortable and she is an athlete. She works hard but she's sort of scared. She put a lot of energy into the mambo but she didn't have the rhythm that is necessary for this dance. I can see her improving though.

Cheryl Burke and Maurice Green came out next with the mambo. He's a very likeable guy and he knows how to have fun with the dance. He's confident and very energetic. They did a really cute old school soulfoul mambo, but they didn't actually put the actual mambo moves into the dance. They did a lot of club like dancing which was is always a crowd pleaser, but not a judge favorite.



I liked the gold outfits though!

Brooke Burke (mother of 4) and Derek Hough were up next and they totally worked it.



I think they are going to make it far in this show. First off, you know I can't make it another minute without mentioning how HOT she looks - hello - the women has 4 kids. DAYUMM!!!!! Anyway, she did an awesome cha cha cha the first night and she did a beautiful and graceful quick step on night two. I'm loving them.

Cloris Leechman and Corky were up next. Okay - I have no words. Seriously, you just have to watch this for yourself...



She's 82 years old so I'll just give her a pass.

Toni Braxton and Alec were up next with the quick step. They pretty much looked effortless, very elegant & quite beautiful...



Kym Johnson and Warren Sapp were up next and they did t he quick step.



It's amazing that a guy that big can work it so well. He has awesome footwork and he's a real pleasure to watch. I really love these two. Normally the quick step is a dance that looks best with a tall, lean couple. So, it was pretty amazing that Warren pulled it off so well. I'm loving it!!

Ted McGinley and Inna were up next with the Mambo...



He's got a lot of heart, he works really hard and you can tell that he really wants to be there. Unfortunately he doesn't have any rhythm and he won't make it very far.

Cody and Julianne Hough came out with an adorable quickstep.



They are so young and so cute. The boy is like 18 years old and he really pulled it together and did a very mature dance. The judges were impressed and so was I.

Rocco and Karina were up next with the Mambo. It was fun, he was very confident and I must say, it was pretty sexy. I wasn't expecting much from him but he did a great job.




Soap Opera Queen Susan Lucci and Tony came out next to last and they did the quick step. Basically, she sucks. Sorry - I gotta be honest. She's scared and uncomfortable and not very impressive. The sad thing is that she really wants to be there and she worked really hard, so she needs to get really comfortable really quick or she'll be going home soon.



Last but certainly not least was Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas - the much awaited duo...



I expected a lot from these two and I was very let down. She can't dance. She's really pretty and she has a great ass, and you would think that she'd be able to shake it like her momma gave her, but it wasn't to be. Oh well - I guess you can't have everything.

Update - Ted McGinley went home. So sad. I liked him - I remember him from Happy Days and Married with Children and all kinds of shows I grew up with. He was really happy to be on the show, but he wasn't very good so I guess I'm not surprised to see him taking the walk of shame.

The Vote Is In

Okay, it seems that there is some interest in the Dancing with the Stars recaps. I was sort of thinkin that nobody liked them, but that's definitely not the case - so DWTS will resume!

Here's the bad news kiddies...

Edyta and her partner Jeff Ross (the comedian) were the first couple to go home! That means there won't be any pictures of THE BODY Edyta Sliwinska. Nobody is upset as I am because I love that women's body.

Who among us can honestly say that this isn't pure perfection...











Well, anyway, I'm sad to see her go, but I think I'll do a fitting tribute to Edyta every week when I do my re-cap.

One year

Do you ever just have one of those shitty days? I'm sure we all do.

I woke up yesterday, somehow, lucky, because my effin alarm clock didn't go off. So, I stumbled out of bed, took a shower, grabbed my shit and got in the car. After 30 minutes of sitting in traffic I realized I was going to be late because I hadn't moved more than about a mile. I don't live far from work, but when there is an accident or something it feels like I live a million miles away. I call my boss who I know is probably sitting in the same traffic and she informs me that she's been on the road for 2 hours and still hasn't made it to work. It was such a bullshit day for traffic. There was something like 12 acccidents all over the valley and ALL of the roads were congested so there was just nothing I could do.

Work was crazy. I was swamped. I didn't get to take a lunch break. I ended up eating an apple at like 4 o'clock in the afternoon and the was it. I was almost late for bowling because I had to work overtime. I couldn't get a strike to save my life. I bowled like shit. We lost all of our games and then on the way home I got on the highway and realized they shut it down to one lane for construction and I sat in traffic for another freaking hour (even though I live about 15 minutes from the bowling alley). What a horrible and frustrating day.

I can only hope that today will be better.

Today marks my one year anniversary with this company. One whole year! I'm pretty psyched about that.

I remember it seemed just like yesterday when I was coming on all of these interviews, hoping they'd pick me and then scared out of my mind that they would pick me and I fail miserably. It all worked out though. Yay. Okay, so where's my raise dammit?? ha ha!

Emmy Red Carpet

Um - hello? The Emmy Awards were on last night? Did anyone even watch it? Maybe I'm just caught up in my own little world, but I didn't even realize it was coming on. I never saw any ads and if I would have known about it I would have at least watched or better yet DVR'ed the Red Carpet. All of the reviews I've seen have been totally negative. It was the 60th anniversary and it was a total snooze fest.

So, here are a few of the interesting outfits I saw today when I was perusing the TV Guide website...

All I can think about is her pose. She looks so weird. Doesn't she know how to take a flattering picture on the red carpet?? I will say that yellow is the in thing this year so she gets points for the actual dress.




Vanessa Williams...



Back in the day when I worked at the DOD, I had a major crush on her. She was totally the shit. Now I'm not so sure. The dress is a little crazy, but in a weird way I kind of like it. The more I look at it the more I like it, so I'm gonna go with a DO. The flowers are pretty cool and I like the pretty like pink. I've decided I really like this outfit. The more and more I look at it - I'm totally feeling it.

Jennifer Love Hewitt...



Ummmmmm - not sure about this. I don't think I like her hair. I'm always a fan of black and white. She looks like she lost some weight which is always a good thing and I like that she went with something different. I'm up in the air.

Brooke Shields - always a hottie. I love the color of the dress and she never seems to age. She looks fantastic!

Ummmm - I'm not really feeling this outfit, although it is nice to see her in something other than a cardigan or sweater vest. But whatever - I love her cause she's on the Office and it's my favorite show - so she gets a pass.

I can appreciate the Grecian Goddess look. It's a nice look, she's an inspirational role model - she looks fantastic - she just had a double masectomy for god's sakes. So, I'm not going to say anything about about her. If I had to pick something out though, I'd say her makeup is a tad bit too dark and her hair looks better down.


Mary Louise Parker from Weeds...



I love the color and cut of this dress. It compliments her body and her skin tone perfectly. I mean, you can't really go wrong with her body - it's pretty amazing. Not to mention I LOVE the show Weeds.


Angela from The Office...



I'm sure she has a real name, but she'll always be Angela to me. I'm not feeling this dress. I don't think it's flattering at all. I think it's pretty cool that she at least tried to look fancy - one of these days she'll hire someone to help her out. Thanks to Emmeline for pointing out that she just had a baby. That puts a whole new spin on things. For just having a baby, she looks fantastic!!

Elaine from Seinfeld ( I know her real name is Julia Louise Dreyfuss, I know she's from my hometown and I know that she's on the New Adventures of Old Christine - I'm a huge fan -- but she will ALWAYS be Elaine from Seinfeld to me)- I've never seen her look better. The color is SO HOT and I love her hair. She might be my favorite look of the night!!

It pains me to have to say this - but what the hell was Alyssa Milano thinking? I love her but this outfit is not working for her. It reminds me of the horrible Bjork Swan getup from a few years ago. Poor thing. Alyssa needs a new stylist and can you PLEASE tell me what is the deal with that fan? Are you kidding me? Seriously??




Okay, I love a tan as much as the next girl and I'm also a big fan of playing up your assets. If you have nice legs, show em. If you have a nice rack - let the world know - but in this case I'm just not feeling the dress. It's a little too short, it's a little too sparkly and she's a little too tan. Maybe she just wanted Tony Parker to unwrap her hot little package in the limo on the way to the big show?



Evangeline Lilly definitely hit a high note with this one. I'm loving it. Very classy, very unique and she looks great.



I love Debra Messing. Her hair always looks so pretty and she is always very elegant. The dress is awesome, I love the length and the fullness and it just fits her perfectly.

Another Sunday night is upon us. ugh...

I will say that I had an awesome day yesterday though. There was a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Saturday for N.A. and somehow I was conned into buying a ticket even though I had no intentions of going.

My friend Lisa says to me "hey carmen, do you have five dollars on you?" and I'm like "sure, here ya go" because I was thinking she was short on cash or whatever. So, she takes my five dollars and then writes me out a receipt and says "okay, now you have your ticket for the spaghetti dinner". I'm like "hey!". That's fucked up. But whatever, I just looked at it as a donation and let it go.

She sold like 150 tickets. Sure, I could have gone to the dinner but you see, that would have taken me WAY out of my comfort zone. I'm sort of a creature of habit. When Saturday rolls around I always get up, play a few games of poker online, go to the gym, go to the tanning salon, get a pedicure or manicure, sometimes I hit the mall, then I head to the Red Rock Casino and put in my football picks, but I make sure to only give myself about a half hour to hangout there and then I go to a 7:30 meeting. If I go to the Red Rock too early, I end up losing money playing slots or whatever. So, I have my Saturdays down to a science. After the meeting we all go out to eat and then I usually come home.

So, if I would have gone to the spaghetti dinner thingy I would have had to be nice to a whole slew of people, most of them I probably don't know very well, I would have to show up by myself and walk in alone - always a big fear of mine. I remember back in high school I used to HATE walking alone in the hallway or entering the cafeteria alone. It's ridiculous that I'm 35 years old and I'm scared to walk into a room by myself. I never show up to a meeting late because I don't want every turning their attention to me when I walk in the door. I'm a complete fanatic about showing up early, I usually sit in the same seat at every meeting and I always have a friend or two sitting next to me. Heaven forbid I would have went to the fundraiser and had to sit with people I don't know very well. Just the thought of who I was going to sit with was way too overwelming, so I chose not to go.

I went to my normal meeting like usual and it was actually smallish because a lot of people were at the fundraiser. I liked it though because I felt more comfortable. We all went to eat at Chili's afterwards and then I broke out of my shell and went over to Doug's house to hangout. He bought Rock Band II so most of the people were doing the whole singing, drum, guitar thing and of course I was sitting at the kitchen table kicking some ASS in spades.

This is my new partner Robert - did I mention we kicked ass?????



And oh my god - Doug's puppy, Ashes is growing up so quickly - god I just love her...



I just wanted to bring her home with me. I think I left his house at like 3 in the morning and she was STILL a little ball of energy. I'm wondering if she ever sleeps cause oh my god she's a fire cracker.

So, it's looking like I won't be heading to Maryland for Christmas since my parents will be here instead! Good times!!

I'm thinking the new Cincotta Christmas tradition could be opening presents in the morning, eating a nice homemade meal (that my mom will be cooking of course) and then a No-Limit Hold Em Tourney at our casino of choice. And then to top it off we could get some fancy decadent dessert after one of us wins the tournament. I can't think of a better way to spend Christmas.

I went over to the neighborhood where my parents are buying a house and I took a few pictures for them and basically helped them decide which model to buy. It's so effin cool because they bought a model and EVERYTHING comes with it. I'm talking the pots, the pans, the flat screen T.V., the window furnishings, all of the decorations, the sheets, the bedspreads - you see it, they get it! Very cool!

Fingers crossed that everything goes well with the inspection of the house they are selling.

I love the mookie - it's the best blogger game around. I've never won the mookie - hell - I've never even made the final table. How ironic that Mookie and I were heads up at the very end?! Kinda crazy!!!! I never used to be able to play in the mookie because I had a meeting that I attended every wednesday, but I switched my schedule around and what do ya know? It worked out in my favor because I actually won. Ummmmmmmmmmmm - Did I mention I won? I'm sorry - it's just so unusual for me to ever win a blogger game so you'll have to excuse me for being super excited.

This is an amazing week....

- My parents sold their house
- I won the mookie
- A good friend of mine who has been trying for a long time to start a family has finally made it happen.
- We won all of our games last night in bowling.
- I have officially been at my job for one whole year this month. So, now I start getting two weeks of vacation and hopefully a raise :)
- My parents found an amazing house here in Vegas - it's a model home and it comes with all the upgrades, they lowered the price in a huge way and it comes with all of the beautiful furniture.

Life can't get much better than this right????

Important Annoucement

We now interrupt my hurricane memories wiht a very important and exciting announcement....

My parents finally sold their house!!!!!!! It was on the market for 5 months with no bites. I knew the house would sell eventually because it's a beautiful place, near the water, they have tons of land and lots of upgrades and they've taken great care of it. At first I thought the house would sell immediately, but with the market being so shitty it took a lot longer than I thought. My parents were getting frustrated and I just kept telling them to be patient because of course it was going to sell, it was just a matter of how long we'd have to wait.

I know it's just the beginning stages and lots of things could go wrong between now and closing - but whatever. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. An offer was made, my parents accepted and today the paperwork will be filled out. I'm crossing my fingers that everything will go along smoothly and they could possibly be moving out here in the next month. Whatch out SIN CITY - the Cincotta family is moving in!!

So, fingers crossed - wish us good luck that nothing falls through and I'll finally be living in the same state with my parents. I couldn't be more thrilled.

I guess this means I won't be going to Maryland after all for the holidays. Too bad my mom already bought my ticket. Dammit. I was looking forward to some crabs. boo hoo

And as if things weren't awesome enough - I bowled my highest game ever last night - a 158. Yay! My new ball is great - it's purple and sparkly and very beautiful. I went from a 10 pound ball up to a 13 pound ball. It's taking some time to get used to, but I'm loving it. We won all of our games last night and we won all of our games last week. I'm so glad I joined this new team. They are FUN and they like to win, but they are also supportive and they don't take themselves too seriously which is always a good thing.

Hurricanes

In honor of hurricane season, I thought I'd talk about my experience with mother nature. First off, do I have any readers in Texas? I hope you guys made it though Ike okay. I know that Don got a call from JJOK last night and he was about to embark on his journey back home to take care of the always fun cleaning up and re-bulding portion - the dreaded aftermath. Good luck JJ!!

I moved to South Florida back in May 2004. I had heard about hurricanes and saw the crazy images that came across the weather channel, but it never really occured to me that I'd be living in hurricane central. In fact, I think South Florida hadn't had any major hurricanes since like Andrew which was quite a while ago. I was just picturing sunny skies, sandy beaches, beautiful blue water and tanned hot surfers. woo hoo! I coudln't get out of Maryland quick enough.

So, the first year a few small hurricanes came through. I remember being kind of excited. It was big news! Everyone kept saying "this is so unusual - we barely ever have any hurricane's here". I started to not believe them because I had already been there through Hurricane Charley and Hurricane Francis and now Hurricane Ivan was heading our way. I was living close enough to the beach that I could walk there. I parked my car at the bridge that went over the inlet and I walked to the water so that I could see the HUGE waves and of course there were some brave surfers out there trying to catch some good waves and it was fun!

I went back to the halfway house where I was living and I had my apartment fully stocked with bottled water and flashlights and candles and food! We had been hearing about this storm for days, so we were fully prepared. My work shut down and I was basically just looking at this as a little vacation! I had a battery powered radio and me and the rest of my friends sat outside for as long as possible until we absolutely had to go inside. The rain started picking up and the wind was blowing really hard and the doors were practically flying off the hinges. Eventually we lost power and that's when the fun really began. Trees started falling down all around my car. The T.V. was gone, the air conditioning had ceased. There was no more hot water and all of a sudden it wasn't as fun as I thought it was going to be.


It was a pretty small storm, it ended after a few short hours and since I lived in a pretty major road, my power was restored in about a day or two.

There were definitely some parts of Florida that were hit harder during Ivan, but I fared pretty well and was very lucky.

I wouldn't be so fortunate the next year.

I moved in with Don about a year later (in 2005). He lived right down the street from where I used to live, but his house was on a smaller street and he was a lot closer to beach. No major businesses were on this street so if there was a hurricane, he was one of the last houses to get his power restored.

Hurricane Katrina had just passed us by and hit New Orleans in a MAJOR WAY.

Hurricane Wilma was approaching South Florida, but I didn't take it very seriously.

Hating Her

I have been a long time supporter of Nicole Ritchie. It started back when I was watching The Simple Life. Nicole Ritchie was hysterical and Paris was just boring. I was constantly laughing at Nicole and she seemed really down to earth. The crazy shit that came out of her mouth made the show enjoyable.

So, anyway, I just thought I'd state for the record that I am no longer a Nicole Ritchie supporter. Why the change of heart? Well, let me tell you.

Last week she was at Fashion Week and she was walking down the red carpet and a Swedish tourist tried to snap her picture. She reportedly shouted....

"I'm not an animal" to the Swede and then jumped over some velvet rope, ripped the camera out of the girl's hand, and smashed it to the ground.

What the fuck? It's one thing to go off on the paparazzi, but it's quite another thing to hurt the people that are keeping you in the spotlight - the fans! Give me a break. Does she really think she's all that? She wouldn't even be famous if it wasn't for her famous father, Lionel Ritchie and her famous friend, Paris Hilton. She's really a nobody. I hate her now.

And another weekend draws to a close. I had a great weekend though so I can't complain. My girl, Hilary didn't have her kids this weekend so we went on a little shopping spree on Saturday. It was fun! I went into Neiman Marcus to meet her personal shopper. Yes, she has her own personal shopper. I'm turning green over here with envy. I don't usually even walk into Neiman's because I know it's super expensive and I can't afford most of the stuff, but I made an exception this weekend because of Hilary.

They were giving away a nice gift if you spent $100 in the makeup department which is very easy to do. I sat my butt down at the Nars counter and let the girls do their magic on me. Wow - what a nice makeup line. I'm loving Nars. I bought some nice new fall stuff to complement my new darker hair. Not only did I get the free gift from the department store, but I also got the free gift that Nars was giving away. I'm a free gift whore. What can I say?

I cleaned out a bunch of clothes this weekend and I have two very large bags to give to goodwill or salvation army or whoever wants it. I wanted to actually give the clothes to like a women's homeless shelter like Shadetree which specialuizes in women who have drug problems. I actually spoke there before. But, I went to their website and they were super picky about donations. They wanted electronics and bottled water and new clothes. So, whatever. Salvation Army takes anything and they are close to my house. Does anyone have a favorite charity they donate clothes to?

I can't believe the Raiders won today!!!! That's one hour in Raiders bucks for me. woo hoo!

Remember when that girl broke into my house a few months ago? She stole my favorite brown boots. So, I went to Macy's this weekend and bought some brand new ones. They are Franco Sarto and I just love them...



I played some online poker today. I won a ten dollar sit and go. During that game I flopped quad aces. I love that. Then, I was playing another game and I flopped a flush and it turned into a royal flush for me on the river. Good times. I wish I was always that lucky. My Full Tilt account is very healthy these days.

Well, True Blood is coming on soon - can't wait! Did any of you guys watch it and love it as much as I do?

Embrace It!

Last night I went to get my hair done. I brought a picture this time because I really wanted to do something different. I decided to go a lot darker since it's Fall and plus, I'm Italian and I think I look better with darker hair. She also did some very deep reds and the blonde was supposed to be golden. It all blended really well in the picture. However, when she took the tin foil off my hair and I looked in the mirror, some of my hair was orange. AAAAHHHHH! I almost started crying. It looked horrible. I was very up front with her when I said I was not feeling the orange. I know she was trying to make the blonde a golden color, but it looked orange to me. So, she had to totally dye the orange over again and as a result, I was there for 3 hours. Nightmare!

I also wasn't happy with the haircut. She cut a lot off, she styled it way different than usual. I wanted a sweeping bang, but it ended up falling really flat and it was just all in my face and I was just wanting to kill myself. The kicker is when I have to pay her a bunch of money and all I want to do is go home and rip all of my hair out.

I got up this morning and washed it, styled it my usual way and I'm feeling a lot better about it today. Us girls are so funny about hair. I can't tell you how many times I've come home from the salon crying because I was unhappy with the haircut. I think I'm just a creature of habit. In theory I wanted to shake things up a bit and do something different. But, when it actually happened, I started to freak out and I just wanted my old hair back. ha ha

Oh well. I'm going to really try to embrace the new color and the new cut and I'm not going to stress about it anymore.
