Day Two in California
Even though I ordered Price is Right tickets online ahead of time, those tickets do not ensure that you get a seat. So, we had to get up Monday morning at like 4:00 a.m. and head to the CBS Studio to get in line. The line was around the block already! These people must have either spent the night or just stayed up all night and got there at like 2:00 a.m. Ridiculous! We wanted to see the morning taping, but unfortunately, only 300 people can sit in the audience and we were like number 365. So, we ended up getting seats in the afternoon taping. This means that the taping starts at 4 p.m. but we have to be back at 12:30 p.m. Wow! 4 hours ahead of taping? That seems like a waste of time. But, whatever. So, again, it's like 6 in the morning now so we have 6 hours to waste.
We get in the car and drive back to the hotel and have breakfast at Denny's. I wasn't feeling it. I didn't eat much and I felt like crap. So, my mom is like the Energizer Bunny. She would have been happy to start sight seeing at 6 a.m. But, I was like "oh hell no" I just wanna go back to bed - PLEASE!!! So, she caved in and let me go back to bed. A few hours later she wakes me back up I'm feeling a lot better. Thankfully! We head over to the studio and now we have to figure out parking. The most annoying part of this trip is the constant search for reasonably priced parking. It's tough. There was this one garage near CBS that wanted something like $1.00 for every 15 minutes. Are you kidding me??????
Luckily, we found a street that you couldn't park on from 10 - 12 because of street cleaners, so we drove around for 20 minutes until the clock struck 11:45 a.m. and then we parked and sat in the car for another 15 minutes until it was safe to get out. We weren't the other ones. That street was FULL promptly at noon. Everyone had the same idea we had. Hey - it was free parking! Can't beat it.
Price is Right - ugh. So, we get there. We get our numbers. We are numbers 63 and64. Those are pretty good. They call us in order and we sit on a bench. Next they go through a few hours of taking our pictures, having us fill out little cards about ourselves, interviewing us and FINALLY, around 4 p.m. they let us into the studio. It was such a long and boring day. I either made friends with, or made fun of half of the people there. Well, what was I supposed to do? They took all of our cell phones. So, I had to people watch and run my mouth and just socialize.
So, we get in there and they did the one hour taping. It was fun. During commercial breaks Drew Carey would crack jokes and talk to the audience. He's very charming. And of course, NO LESS than about 5 people that I made fun of during the day got called up to the stage! I couldn't believe it. They called a few girls with really tight short shorts on. I thought for sure they woudln't make it on stage because they were not appropriately dressed. I had a tank top on earlier, but I covered it with a T-Shirt because I figured that cleavage wasn't very respectable. I was thinking about past shows that I've seen and they usually don't put sluts up there. Right?? But, anyway, it was a good time. I enjoyed the show, I had a great seat! I'm only 3 rows from the stage. I have a good chance of being on T.V. because I'm right behind contestant's row and the show will be on November 3rd. I'll remind you guys when it gets closer.
After the taping, it was like 6 p.m. Our whole day was shot. I mean, where were we going to go at 6 p.m.?? We decided to head over to the Cheesecake Factory in Sherman Oaks near our hotel. It was yummy! I love that place. We bought a few scratchoffs on the way back to our hotel. I LOVE scratchoffs! When I lived in Maryland I had a MAJOR scratchoff addiction. We don't have a lottery in Nevada, so I always take advantage of the lottery when I go to other states. I like the Bingo and the crossword scratchoffs. Anyway, that was Day 2. I didn't even get any pictures because we weren't allowed to take photo's at Price Is Right.

You know that Vana White was "discovered" on The Price is Right? Yup. She was a contestant and she wore a t-shirt that said "Get Serious" on it. When she came running down the isle with everything giggling like it should, everyone was like "Oh I am baby!" LOL ;-)

>I LOVE scratchoffs!
>I take advantage of the lottery
No self respecting gambler buys lottery tickets.

That sounds like when my sister and I went to a Letterman taping. It seemed like we were in line forever and then had to come back later and stand in line again forever. It was worth it, though. But still--what a hassle.
