Update
For the past few days, we've been training over at the Hard Rock Hotel/Casino/Cafe. It's been fun. We got to taste the food on the menu. I think the food tastings will help me to remember what everything looks like and what ingredients are in said dishes.
Yesterday was really fun because they had me get up in front of the whole class and pretend I was selling the apple cobbler to the table. Once I "sold" the dessert, they gave me a free one to eat. Holy shit!! That cobbler was so good! Yumm!
We also got invitations for "friends and family" next week. Sept. 3rd and 4th they are opening the restaurant for our friends and family. We give them free food and soft drinks and they get to eat and we get to practice working in our new cafe. It's a win win for everyone. They are also expected to tip us, so we finally get to make some actual money!!
I got my uniform, I tried it on and its adorable. I went out and bought the white shoes and I took them in to show my manager and she said I couldn't wear them. They are slip resistant, but they weren't leather and they were "clogs" style instead of lace up tennis shoes style. So, I have to take them back today.
This is what our uniform looks like...

It's black with the purple piping you see on the cute little pin girl. Of course I won't be carrying around a guitar and I probably won't wear my outfit so short. I have to wait tables - sheesh!
I still have to get my name embroidered on my uniform. I'll probably do that today. And then sometime next week I have to get that damn Sheriff's Card. It's a pain in the ass. You usually have to wait for hours and of course they are only open during the week. I'm not looking forward to that.
And then - finally - we have our grand opening on September 5th! Yay!!!! I'm so excited.
Did I mention all of the hot guys I'm going to be working with? I actually made some friends already which is nice! One day I went over to my friend Nate's house and we had a study session. Two other guys came over too. So, it was me and three guys - and we actually did study. We got a lot done and I know we all passed that test. We took a floor plan test yesterday. We had to label the table numbers on a floor plan that was drawn for us. I aced it. Studying table numbers is a lot easier than lerning the ingredients in all of our specialty drinks! Those drinks are hard to learn!
Anyway, I'm rambling. I'm going to enjoy my Saturday off and then I'm heading to my brand new cafe tomorrow for the first time ever! woo hoo!
