Dopes on Slopes

I am thrilled to announce that for the fourth year in a row, I'm heading to Brianhead, Utah for our annual "Dopes on Slopes" ski trip. I'm psyched. It was obviously meant to be, because I didn't sign up ahead of time and the trip was totally full a few weeks ago. But, there was a last minute cancellation, I was able to buy a registration, I found someone that had room to spare in their hotel room, my friend Shelly had space in her SUV and everything just fell into place. Yay!!!!

So, to celebrate two weeks off drugs, I'm going skiing! Woo hoo! I really don't deserve to be going on a vacation for god's sakes. But, somehow I managed to pull it off and I'm extremely grateful and really excited.

Let me ask you guys a question...

Am I boring you with the Insanity tales? I'm just wondering if you guys like to read about the past year of my life, or if I should just skip it and try to find other stuff to blog about. Let me know. As always, I appreciate the feedback.

Thanks!

Happy Friday!

I am interested to see how bad the problem was and how you pulled yourself out of the fog. I like the story.

Have fun skiing.

Boring us?? Never!
I find it fascinating: silicone, nicotine, heroin, cocaine, alcohol ... is there any substance you refuse to allow into your body in between your trips to rehab or your trips to yet again sponge off your parents?

I love reading your stories. I hope you are learning from them by writing and will not continue to make the same mistakes. I hope you continue to write.

I'm finding it all very interesting. Lots of times when I'm reading I find it hard to find the words to comment on the posts. Good for you getting your life back together and though I may not be commenting, I'm reading :) Hope you have a great time on your ski trip!

I'm glad you share because I am going to school to become a therapist and this is very interesting for me to get some perspective on what you go through. I also think it's probably good for you to share...at least I hope it does!! I hope you keep sharing your stories!

I think the insanity tales are well written and very interesting. Obviously I wish you did not have to go through your struggles with addiction but if it helps you to get your demons out on these pages then keep writing them.

Not sure if enjoy is the right word. It's hard to watch someone struggle with addiction, especially someone that's been clean for awhile. The tweaker in me loves the stories though. Unfortunately, it sounds a lot like my story at the end. Hang in there, glad ya get to go skiing, how awesome is that? You are sounding a lot better in the way you write too, if that makes any sense. More optimistic? Grateful? Anyways, just wanted to let you know that people are reading you and getting something out of it. Bye!

I hope that by writing your story down, it helps in some way. Make the choice that best fits your needs. From an outside perspective, it is fascinating reading.
