scary

Okay, off the top of my head, I'll list the top few places in town to go and get free slot play, easily and without much of a hassle...

Tropicana - You can go in any time of day or night, which is nice because most players clubs close. But, at Trop, you can head in, give them your license and if you've never had a card before you do a little scratchoff thing to determine how much you win. I know I got ten bucks and I think that was the minimum.

Golden Nugget - Again, easy enough, head down to Fremont Street, you can't miss the Golden Nugget, it's the nicest property around. The players club will take your license and put it all into the computer and then you will press a slot machine type button to determine if you win five dollars, one hundred dollars or one thousand dollars. This was new to me because when I came to town the Nugget was giving away a standard ten dollars to everyone. Of course, I'm sure most people get the five bucks and only a sporadic lucky person gets the big ones.

Although, sidenote and funny story...

When my mom came to Vegas to visit me she knew that Golden Nugget gave away slot play but I didn't because I don't usually go downtown very often. Anyway, we went down there and I got my ten bucks. I promptly went over to a Game King and playing maximum bet on quarter video poker I hit a Royal Flush and won like $1200 on free slot play! One of the best gambling moments of my life!!

Geez, this is getting long already. I think I'll just do a few each night.

Quick Question...

Does anyone have experience in the having their license suspended area? Mine was suspended because I didn't show up to court for a ticket. I've paid all fines since this happened and I went to the DMV to get my license back. Now, I just found out that there is a warrant out for my arrest AGAIN because I didn't show up for court AGAIN. I swear to god I never got a court notice and my parents will testify to that, because my mom opens my mail everyday. So, now I have to go to court, pay 85 dollars to get rid of the warrant and I still have to go in front of the judge in reference to my license being suspended even though I already got it back.

My question is this...

What do you think the can do? Like, why do I have to see him? Is there a chance I'm going to jail or anything? i tried to ask the girl over the phone but she just kept saying that the judge would decide. UGH!

Scary!

Fines are possible but jail time is rare for any offense that they can't establish you had actual notice of. So it looks like this was driving on a suspended license that you were not aware had been suspended. Have your checkbook and the dates of all tickets and dmv visits written down.
It might be THEIR computer error.

As to your blog, it might be best to include more about other topics as well. Lets say one casino has an attractive slot play offer, what else is really worthwhile there or nearby? On Wednesdays the Hilton is supposed to have some Steak Dinner Special For Locals, is there a free slot play special as well?

What was the underlying charge that you had to go to court about? I could tell you what would happen to you in NJ, but you need to talk to a local lawyer to find out what you are facing.

I've stayed at the Golden Nugget. It was super damn nice! The rooms were very nice and comfortable.

It's just a Failure to Appear warrant. The fines have been paid and all that stuff, it shouldn't be any big deal. Just be super respectful and apologetic and let the judge lecture you and you should be fine. I hope. ;-)

Your too sweet Brandy. I wish I could blame it on luck, but I really did this to myself. I didn't get the court date this time, but I ignored others in the past and that's how my license got suspended in the first place. Oh well.

If I was really unlucky, I would have been arrested one of the NUMEROUS times I was pulled over with no valid license and no valid tags. hehe

Flea- thanks for the idea. I like it! I definitely know this town and what's a good deal and what isn't.

I'll incorporate that stuff!

May I suggest that you adopt a strict rule of always using terms such as "free play dollars" or "slot club dollars" and only use the term dollars when the sum is actually in cash or can readily be cashed-out as cash.

I had a similar situation happen - 3 years after the fact, I was stopped while driving out near Lake Mead to do a photoshoot, by some Park Rangers who informed me I had a warrant out for my arrest for an unpaid ticket, which I know I had paid and I had never recieved any notification showing I had not paid and that I had a warrant, and I even had to renew my license shortly thereafter and that would have come through the DMV - I had to submit all reciepts in order for them to quash the warrant and found out it was a recording error on the courts part, not mine. I did not get any additional fines or penalties, but each case is different in this town, so I wish you good luck!
