So far this week has been pretty uneventful. My cousin is in town, but she's here for work all week so we haven't seen much of her. We got to hangout on Sunday when she arrived and that was really fun and then she's staying an extra day so that we can all spend some time together. She's been to vegas before, but she hasn't seen any of the touristy stuff on the outskirts of town. Like, she's never been to Red Rock Canyon, The Hoover Dam, Mt. Charleston, Valley of Fire etc.

So, I'm thinking on Friday we'll take her to Mt. Charleston and have lunch outside. I love doing that in the middle of summer when it's 105 degrees here and it is, when we get up the mountain it will be like 75 degrees and beautiful! It's such a welcome break. The heat down here is brutal.

I've been wanting to get a new purse for sometime, but now I have a few gift cards, so I'm definitely going to do it. I've been shopping around and since I can't afford a Coach Purse, I'm looking at Guess purses. They have some really awesome bags. I was just about to pull the trigger when I saw a kathy purse I fell in love with. It was at Ross in Henderson. I've been to about five Ross stores near my house and none of them have the one I found in Henderson. I hope it's still there tomorrow.

I was going to post some pictures and have you guys vote, but I'm too tired. So, time for me to go to bed. Goodnight!

Sunday Already?

This is crazy...

I was driving down the road yesterday and I was approaching a light on Charleston. I heard some commotion to the left and I look up in time to see a small two door car go over the medium concrete strip, across the other lanes of traffic (luckily he didn't hit anyone in the other lane), he then hopped the curb, drove across some grass, into a parking lot where he proceeded to hit a few parked cars and finally stopped. This happened at like noon. I don't know if the person fell asleep or had a heart attack or what. It was the craziest thing. I kept going, but I saw about five or ten people jump out of their cars and run over to that parking lot to see if the person was okay. I'm going to try to find it in the news.

Okay, I searched for like 30 minutes. I can't find it. I'm pretty sure it happened on June 24th and it was on Charleston near Rainbow or Jones. I've been seeing a lot of accidents lately. weird.

For my birthday, my parents got me a gift certificate to Macy's along with some other goodies. Today, mom and I are hitting the mall and I'm totally psyched!! After that, we are having dinnar at PF Changs which I LOVE!!

I'm thinking of taking mom to either the Sahara so that she can get a players card and start getting some free slot play like I do, or, the Westin has this thing where if you are a new player and you get a card, you can gamble for the next 24 hours and they will reimburse you whatever you lose. Kinda cool right?? I did that a while ago and I ended up winning so I didn't need the reimbursement thing. It's nice to fall back on though!

Well, gotta run. See ya tomorrow!

My Milkshake Brings all the Boys...

I'm such a crappy blogger. I really want to get back in the groove of writing Monday through Friday. But, I am always too tired or too busy or too lazy. Which, is pretty funny considering I don't even have a job. I don't have time for a job. ha ha Just kidding.

Anyway, L.A. Boy reads this little blog. I didn't really know that. I knew that he knew about it, but I figured he didn't read it. So, then he told me he didnt care for the nickname, L.A. Boy. What's wrong with it? The boy part of course. So, let me state for the record, that L.A. Boy is to be retracted and in it's place we will insertBig Strong Hot Italian Man or BSHIM for short. I dunno. I haven't decided yet what I'll call him, but I have to get moving, so I'll give it some more thought.

So, BSHIM was supposed to be here only until Monday and then he was going back to L.A. and to work. Unfortunately, his car started having some problems while he was here and it ended up in the shop and he stayed an extra two days! I was so psyched. Of course I wasn't happy about him having to lay out several hundreds of dollars, but I was really pleased that I was able to spend more time with him.

We spent everyday together and most nights. So, yesterday was my birthday and he left. Happy Birthday to me. Nice present. Nah. It's cool. I mean, I knew he had to leave at some point, but I still felt a pang of sadness and emptiness when I watched him walk out of the Sahara and into the parking garage. Yes, we spent our last few hours together at the Sahara gambling. ha ha

It was awesome though because he hit four aces on the progressive machine as soon as he got there and I hit five out of five on four card keno when I got there. So, we both went on a little run where we kept winning for a few hours, so the trip ended on a positive note. I had a feeling I was going to win from the time I woke up. I couldn't get my ass to the casino quick enough.

So, he's coming back not this weekend obviously, but next weekend for sure. Again, it'll probably happen because his daughter is still here. I'm kind of wondering whats going to happen when she leaves and goes back to Florida. Well, enough of that. I can't predict the future as much as I can't change the past.

Exciting news - In and Out Burger just opened right next door to the Cannery AND, they opened a Dotty's at the end of my street! I could walk there if I wanted to. YAY!!!! I think I'll get a milkshake now that I think about it - bye!!

Coming Soon

I started to do a post last night, but this damn moth was flying around the office and it kept landing on me. It was freaking me out. I finally gave up because I couldn't concentrate with that nasty bug bothering me. He's gone today.

So, I don't have much time, but L.A. Boy is still here! We've been hanging out, having fun, but he's leaving today most likely. He had a little car situation to deal with. I'm heading out to pick him up now.

I'll get into more specifics later, but we did the Circus Circus Adventuredome thing on Saturday night. It was cute. I really liked the roller coaster. I would definitely take my kids there if I had any.

Ugh, I cut my leg shaving this morning and it's stinging like crazy. It's in a weird spot, so it keeps brushing against my pants and it's like, in a bendy part, so I keep aggravating it. And, in return it's aggravating the shit out of me. ha ha

I'm such a nerd.

Talk to you guys later...

Oh, and stay tuned for an LA Boy retraction. He HATES the name LA Boy. We are coming up with something better :)

Loving Dottys

Well, not to count my chickens before they hatch, but I think it's a pretty safe assumption that LA Boy is coming into town this weekend as planned. He already took off work tomorrow, he's at the Lakers Game right now and he's driving into Vegas tonight after the game. This month, the Cannery sent me a coupon thing in the mail for buy one room get the 2nd night free. L.A. Boy is most likely taking advantage of the offer and staying there this weekend. I've seen the rooms, they are totally fine. Nothing special, but definitely not gross either. Just your average run of the mill off the strip locals casino type room.

I was shocked to find out that the offer was good even on the weekend. Cool. Anyway, again, I don't want to make it seem like he's doing all this just to see me. His daughter is here for the whole month and she's staying with his mom. So, of course he's coming here to spend time with his daughter. She lives in Florida normally. She's a HUGE Chris Angel fan. yuck. I guess he took her to see him last week because he was signing autographs or something and when he got there, the line was so long. Like, they never would have seen Chris because he was only there for a few hours and the line was in the thousands.

So, always the slick talking, mafia type, money buys anything mentality... He goes up to the front of the line, gives the guy a hundo and they walk right in. She sat on his lap, they took tons of pictures, he signed her t-shirt and about five other items. She was in heaven. Daddy probably moved up a few notches in her book that day!

I stopped in Dotty's tonight because, well, basically I was thirsty and since they only have like 12 machines, you always get served quickly. Even though I'm just ordering soda or hot chocolate or water, it still takes forever in a big casino! I only had a few bucks, so I figured I'd spend a few minutes there, lose, and head on home. Instead, a few minutes after I sat down, the bartender comes over and says "It's your lucky day" and hands me a twenty dollar bill. Apparently they do that a few times a day at random and I got picked today. Very cool.

Even better, a few minutes later Cleopatra gave me 6 out of 6 and I won 50 bucks. Then, I stayed on the same machine and switched to 20 card keno. I hit five out of five about 3 times for 16 dollars a piece. THEN, on the same machine, I switched over to four card keno and I hit 5 out of 5 for about $45. NICE!! I tipped the guy out of each win, he was happy and I hit the road. Good day!

Getting ready to head to the DMV - ugh - not looking forward to it. This is like my third time I've been there in a week. Why so many times you ask??

Well, let me tell you...

I left the house the other day and went through a stop sign. DUMB ASS! There was a cop sitting on the side of the road watching that stop sign because a lot of people go through it. He promptly pulled me over. Not only did I have suspended tags, but I also had a suspended license. Oops! And here I was thinking everything had been taken care of and that I was good to go.

Apparently when you let your insurance lapse in Nevada, they automatically suspend your tags. Also, I had a Failure to Appear in court for a ticket I got sometime last year, so they suspended my license. No warning. I had no idea.

How did I manage to not get arrested? I dunno. The officer took pity on me I guess. He did however take the tags off my car and punch a hole in my license. He didn't tow my car either! I drove it home. I was less than a mile from the house luckily.

The tags cost me $250 because of the insurance lapse. Got that taken care of the same day. The Failure to appear thing cost another $250 and I had to go to the courthouse downtown for that. Now, today I'm going back to the DMV with the FTA Clearance in hand to get my new license.

The guy at the DMV assured me that I could come straight to him and not wait in line. I tried that the other day, but he wasn't there. I mean, there was a line out the door just to get a ticket to wait in more lines. I said "screw this". It was 2 in the afternoon, I would have been there til closing time because not only would I have had to wait in line to get a ticket, but then I would have had to wait for my number to be called and then I would have had to get in yet another line to have my picture taken for the new license. And, ALL of those lines were outrageous.

So, I decided I'd come back when my guy was working. Please please please let him be there today. I will take a ticket and wait in line if I have to today because I really need to wrap up this DMV license thing. Enough is enough. Of course, I have to pay another $74 to get my license reinstated. Wow. Driving is so expensive. Especially when you have ten thousand fines to pay.

Of course, last night I had an altercation at the Cannery with this little dumbass 15 year old looking girl. You have to show your license to get the free slot play on M onday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I show her my license and she says that it isn't valid because it has a hole punched in it. I'm like "yeah, it's not valid for me to DRIVE" dumbass. "It is however, a valid I.D. - the expiration date is still good and the reason the officer didn't take it was because it was my only Picture I.D.". She didn't want to hear it. I was starting to lose my mind. She called her manager and that bitch didn't want to accept it either. They finally called security and he straightened those bitches out. He said they would accept it since the expiration date is okay. But, that I need to get a new I.D. because they were only going to accept it this one time.

I mean, give me a break. Why do I have to go through all this bullshit for freakin ten dollars? Especially considering I'm down there every day. I was really pissed off. Morons. I was at the sahara the other day, showed them my I.D. Nobody said a word. Not a word. No issues. No problems. Have a nice day. Cannery - ugh. Morons!!

I love surprises, well, good ones anyway. So, this weekend L.A. Boy came to town and surprised me. His mom lives here and his daughter is visiting his mom for a month, so it's not like he came to town for me or anything, but he was here and I was happy to see him. Things didn't exactly work out as planned last time around and I never went into detail with you guys because, well, I have my own reasons. At any rate, he texted me and said he wanted to make it up to me, so I let him :)

We had a fun weekend. Last night me and him, my mom and dad, his daughter and his mother and two of my parent's friends that are visiting from Baltimore all went out to eat at our favorite Italian restaurant - at the Cannery of course. It was very cool. My parents knew him from before, but it's been forever. And, last time I saw his daughter she was like 4 and now she's almost 15. I can't believe it.

After dinner, L.A. Boy and I went out by ourselves. He was playing in the 11 p.m. tourney over at the Rio, but he postponed it til next weekend and we gambled at the Sahara. He put 40 bucks on the roulette table and turned it into 400 bucks in less than an hour. I too did well. I mean, I don't know what it is about that place, but I always win there and most of the people I take there win too.

It was almost surreal sitting there, sober, not all fucked up and reminiscing about the old days. I remember they all went on a men only trip to Vegas when we were living in Baltimore and I was so jealous cause I got stuck with the boring wives and girlfriends. ha ha They were actually my two best friends, but we were on a New York shopping and show trip and the boys were in Sin City, they never slept the whole weekend, they had a limo at their disposal 24/7. The guy never left. They were VIP everywhere and I wanted to be there SO BAD!! That's probably why I ended up moving here. I had to one up them dammit.

So, here's the true test. He says he's coming back again this weekend and he got a room on the strip. Will he really show? To be continued...

Well, my parents have two friends in town visiting from maryland. The main goal of the trip is basically to play poker. Since they are a little older in age, they of course want to play seven card stud. When my parents first moved here they also wanted to play seven card stud, but the only game they found was at the Mirage. After a few losing sessions at the Mirage and worse, having to wait an hour just to get a seat, they learned to love Texas Holdem instead. Do they really like Holdem better than stud? Who knows. The convenience factor makes it all the more enjoyable.

So, the friends booked a room over at Treasure Island and arrived today. T.I. is connected to the Mirage, so, that's why they stayed there. Convenience factor! Until they went over to the poker room at the Mirage and tried to play. OOps! No more Seven Card Stud at the Mirage. SHIT!! Now what??

I am in the process of masking calls. I am trying to find those guys a game of seven card stud and basically, distance is no object. I found out that Boulder Station spreads a $1 - $6 game on Thursdays at 4 p.m. That's what it comes down to. Sad. Just one day a week. I'm wondering if it's all the same players every single week. Are they going to attack the poor out of town fishies when they sit down?? Oh well. Le'ts hope not.

My mom also found out that Sams Town (I think) has a stud tourney on Friday nights. I could be wrong about the casino, but I think she said it was Sam's and I am not sure what the buyin is.

So, my dear dear readers my question to you is...

Does anyone know of anywhere else in Vegas/Primm/Laughlin/Mesquite where we can find a Seven Card Stud game??

Thanks guys!!

Other than that, I had a series of interviews this week with a doctor's office. Fingers crossed about that one.

And, hit 8 out of 10 tonight on multicard keno at the Cannery. It's pretty rare that you do that. I've only done it one other time, so I was pretty stoked. And, last night at the Cannery, this idiot guy I know banged on the machine out of frustration and the glass shattered!! How funny!! How many times have I seen people banging on the glass? Too many to count. So, they are billing him $200 to fix the machine. Somehow I don't think they'll be seeing that money anytime soon.

I've always wondered if they can adjust the machine to pay off more or less depending on the card that's in the machine. For instance, if I won a thousand bucks last week, I wonder if the Cannery could do a little spy work and make it that I lose for the next few weeks so they can recoup some of their money. I've probably just been watchign too many spy movies or something but I have to wonder. It's an interesting concept don't ya think??

Going to bed... Goodnight!!

I don't know how many of you have blogs, but one of the most precious pieces (to me) is the handy dandy stat counter that I have embedded into the code. LOVES IT!!

The statcounter tells me how many visitors I had today, how many were visiting my page for the first time, what area of the city, state, country they are coming from, the time, how long they visited, their IP Address etc. The list goes on and on. Whenever I'm bored or I need a few minutes to waste, I'll just log onto my statcounter and get lost in the data.

I can't even tell you how many readers I have from other countries. It's really cool. I have almost as many readers from the Netherlands as I do from the U.S. Tonight I saw a few from Italy, Hong Kong, Germany, Japan and even Australia!

It's just a really cool tool to have. I have to laugh sometimes when I see an IP address on there from someone who has visited my site more than I have. Now, that's what I call loyalty!

Anyway, this is starting to sound like a commercial and well, I"m definitely not geting paid for this endorsement, so screw those statcounter guys dammit! I want payment for all the free air time I just gave you guys!

Believe it or not I have a hard time keeping track of my cell phone. UGH! Shocking right?? I mean, I don't know why I lose my phone all the time, it's just a case of me being scatter brained I guess. I mean, I somehow manage to keep my purse at all times, and I rarely lose my keys, but for some reason, that damned cell ph one just doesn't want to stay with me. This is absolutely true, I'm not embellishing to make the story more interesting, and if anything, I might even leave a few tidbits out because of the embarassment...

I don't know when it all started, but I remember things really got bad a few months ago when, in like a period of two weeks I left my phone in my friend's car (twice), on the counter at a Terribles gas station on Flamingo across from the Palms, on the shelf in Walmart, in the dressing room of Target, on the counter at a different Target, at the Nail Salon, and those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Even more surprising is that I still have the same phone - nobody stole it!!

Of course, you guys are probably thinking i'm exaggerating, but I'm really not. And, obviously, most of my friends thought I was full of shit too. I mean, why wouldn't they? I'm not a a particularly stupid person for the most part, so when we made plans and I wasn't answering my phone for a day or two, they thought I was blowing them off and that's completely understandable. I can't explain it myself. I guess it's just a case of brain overload. Too many thoughts going on in my head at once and not enough space to hold and store those thoughts. So, as soon as I think them, sometimes they are gone.

So, ladies, let me ask you, does this ever happen to you or am I just a total freak of nature?

It's Friday!!

Here I am - just in time for the weekend. Woo hoo! Of course, everyday is a weekend to me. But, at least the roads will be a little less congested. Anyway, I was driving along minding my own business the other day when my car suddenly felt weird. The steering wheel was shaking, the front end was pulling to the right, the car wouldn't even accelerate properly and basically it felt like I had a flat tire. I pulled over and was surprised that the tires looked fine. I was baffled. I continued driving. Same problem. It didn't correct itself along the way like I was hoping it would. The magical highway fairies didn't step in and make things all better. Damn.

So, I got home and told my dad about the car and went to bed. I was woken abrubptly the next morning by my father who informed me that we needed to drop the car off at Goodyear. Apparently, the inside of my tire was completely bald and the metal was showing through!! DAYUMM. How does that happen? And of course, my father's opinion is that I should have noticed that something was wrong before it got this bad, but I promise you guys, I didn't notice a thing. The car seemed totally fine to me. I've had guys in my car and none of them ever said anything either. I mean, whatever. I wasn't just ignoring it, but he doesn't believe me.

So, three hundred dollars and two new tires later, my car is running just fine.

Let's see, what else is new?? A good good friend of mine is going to be looking for a roommate in the next few weeks and we talked about the possibility of me moving in. I'm not getting my hopes up or anything, but I could totally see us living together and having fun. She's awesome and I trust her implicitly. She's responsible and mature and my parents love her. Good combination. We will see what happens.

I have no idea why I'm up so early. I thought it was like ten when I got out of bed. I took a shower and realized it's only 8. What the?? My internal clock is all out of whack.

Anyway, happy friday kids!!!
