Priority Finally!!!

So, I called work today to schedule a shift and they told me I made the priority list!!!! Yay!!!!!!! The priority people get to call 15 minutes before everyone else, so they always get the good shifts. This takes a lot of worry and stress off of my shoulders. So, we schedulee for the weekends on Friday afternoons and when I called to schedule today I was able to get the 9:30 am shift for both Saturday and Sunday. We don't have much work right now but if I'm able to get the first shift offered that will help me out a lot. So, I'm pretty happy right now. I feel like my hard work is finally starting to pay off a little bit. That's pretty much all I have for today. Go Ravens! We are playing those dreaded Steelers on Sunday and that's always a scary game for us. My dad and I play in the football pool at my work every week. So far we've lost every week. Figures. Maybe this week will be better.

11 months clean

So, I went over to this place that is hiring and I took the very long and drawn out assessment test.  It was like an hour and a half.  It wasn't super hard but it wasn't quite as easy as I thought it would be.  Anyway, I passed it and I was really happy and then I filled out the application and was told that they wouldn't even consider me until my felony is dropped down to a gross misdeanor because like most places, they don't hire felons.  Ugh.  So frustrating.  At least they told me immediately and didn't have me sitting around waiting to hear something for the next few weeks

I just filled out my graduation paperwork for my drug court program and I'm going to turn it in today and hopefully get a graduation date.  Yay!!! and i have 11 months clean today!!!!

Another Win!!

Well, it was a scary few hours last night during the Sunday Night Game but alas, my Ravens pulled out their 3rd win a row against the Steelers.  Yay!!!!!  I was on the edge of my seat the entire game and had to remind myself to breathe quite a few times.    So, what the hell was going on with those jailhouse/bumblebee uniforms that Pittsburgh was sporting??????  I was simply aghast when I saw those...

He stole his idea from my little Opie...  we dressed him up as a bumblebee for Halloween this year....

Anyway, I played with the old folks Friday night in the Holdem Tournament and it was a lot of fun.  I didn't win and I had to buy back in twice, but I did make it to the final table.  They are always a lot of fun to play with.  Sometimes they say the darnest things.  Like, after retirement, you just lose that filter or something and you truly just say whatever you are thinking.  I look forward to being able to do that  myself.  ha ha
So, my company is shutting down for five days during Thanksgiving.  I'm trying to make sure I keep really busy during those days.  I don't like being off work for that long.  But, Wednesday night my mom and I are fnally going to see Beaking Dawn 2.  Can't wait!!!!  Thursday I'm going to feed the homeless with my sponsor and then of course I'll be eating a lot of food later with the retired folks.  And, Friday I'm going to play poker with them again.  So, it's really just the weekend that I need to fill up.  I think I'm going to drive the Salvation Army female clients to a  meeting on Saturday night.  It always feels good to donate my time and give back.  I'm also going to work on mhy 4th step a little more...  I'm finally close to being finished with it!  What a long ordeal this 4th step has been.  I'm so over it.
Happy Monday!!!!!

So, obviously the election is over, but luckily I'm still getting work.  They let about 50 - 60 of us work everyday and thankfully I'm one of the chosen ones.  It's because i worked really hard during election season, consistently hit my quotas, rarely ever got cut and made sure they got to know me.  As a result, they picked 6 of us to work on a special project the other day and they picked me.  It's an awesome feeling to be working and taking pride in myself again and to be trusted!  I haven't felt this good in a really long time.

I'm also dating someone that I met at work.  He's in his 30's and lives around the corner from me.  So far so good.  I won't say too much about him yet cause I don't want to jinx anything.  We saw that movie Sinister the other night and it was so freaking scary.  Seriously!!  I was really into it.  Scariest flick I've seen in a while.

I had a one on one session with my counselor yesterday.  We have one a month and it went well.  I get to submit graduation paperwork in the next two weeks.  I'm hopefully completing and graduating from the drug court progam in January.  Yay!!  I will have a definite date in a few weeks.

So, it looks like a lot of people are going to be attending the WPBT this year.  I'm excited to see everyone.  I think I should play in some more live tourneys to practice before December hits.

Anyway, I got my nails done, they are way too long and I'm having a hard time typing right now so I'm going to end this.  Bye!

So, I decided to type my name in google the other day and look what came up.....

Police beat

November 26, 1991
A 17-year-old Glen Burnie boy was in serious condition yesterday after being beaten with an aluminum baseball bat during a fight in Crofton early Sunday morning.
Gary Lee Parish, of the 8000 block of Greenleaf Terrace, was taken to North Arundel Hospital after the 2:15 a.m. fight in front of a home in the 2400 block of Yarmouth Lane.
When officers arrived at that address, they found Parish lying inthe driveway of the house surrounded by people, police said.
Carmen Marie Cincotta, 18, of Severna Park, told the officers that she, Parish, Gary Collins, 20, of Crofton, Chris Gardner, 20, of Crofton and a 17-year-old boy had gone to the house on Yarmouth Lane to talk toScott Barr, 20.
Parish began calling for Barr, who came out of the house with three other people armed with baseball bats, police said. A fight began, and Parish and his friends tried to get into the house, police said, but the owner refused and called police.
The witnesses told police that Barr began hitting Parish in the head and body. At some point during the fight, Barr smashed the windshield of a car with a bat, witnesses said, and then hit Parish with the bat.
Barr left the area and was later arrested at his home on Yarmouth Lane, police said. He was charged with assault with intent to murder and reckless endangerment.
Barr told police he did not hit Parish with the bat, only his hands, a police report said.
The report said everyone at the fight had the odor of alcohol on their breath.

That was an article from the Baltimore Sun.  I never even knew that made the paper!  I had to go to court and testify that the guy Scott beat up my friend with a baseball at.  I was working at the Dept of Defense back then and truth be told...  we weren't just drinking....  I was tripping on acid at the time too.  It's no wonder I eventually lost my government clearance huh?    Anyway, that was a crazy night.

So, work has slowed down tremendously!  I'm still working though.  Thankfully.  There is  something like 800 people employed at my company and yesterday there was a total of 50 or 60 people working (me included) and today it's the same thing.  They only have two shifts and I was happy to get one of them.  They are telling most people there is no work, but those of us that are Tier 1 and work a lot are being given first opportunity to grab a shift.  Yay!

I had drug court on Tuesday and the judge told me I'm doing really good.  That was nice to hear.  I saw my probation officer on Monday and paid my monthly fees.  That went well too.  You really don't get compliments from them, you are just lucky to be walking out the door when you leave.  If you don't go to jail you can pretty much assume you are doing a good job.  hehe

Another week gone

I posted this on facebook yesteday for those of you who didn't see it here it is...

I've decided that from now on I'm going to answer every question like a presidential candidate. It's kind of fun...

"Carmen, what are you doing this weekend?"

"That's a great question -- and an important one. And I WILL do something this weekend. But let me take a step back, and answer a broader question. What are we ALL doing this weekend? As a nation? As a world? This weekend, I will do something comprehensive and robust, yet fun. We all should."

"But what are you doing?"

"What I'm going to do involves three things. First, it's going to be relaxing; second, it's going to be enjoyable; lastly, I'm going to make sure that it's cost-effective and I don't get into a deficit. Four weeks ago, I said I'd do something -- and I did. This weekend will be no different."

Anyway, I've had a busy week.  I had to get my car fixed.  That's always fun.  It was a two day process of course.  I've been trying to work as much as possible too and to be  honest, I've been slacking off on meetings a little bit.  That needs to cease and desist immediately.  I cannot fall back into my old ways.

I'm playing in the community poker tournament tomorrow morning with my parents.  This is the tournament I won back in June.  I wonder if I can make it two wins in a row???  That would be so awesome.  I hope so.

Happy Friday!!!
