DWTS - The Boys!

The girls danced the first night and they set the bar very high. I was so impressed with how well they all danced on the very first night! That never happens. This season is going to be really good.

To start the boys off, Cameron Mathison (All My Children Star) and Edyta (The Body) danced the fox trot. They are a good looking couple...



I think they did a good job, but who can concentrate on the dance when this fine specimen is on the stage????



So, yeah, I hope he sticks around for a while.

Next up was Floyd Mayweather and Karina Smirnoff. Floyd is not only training for DWTS, but he's also training for a boxing match or something so he's very busy.



Well, where do I begin? Floyd looks like he's on ritalin or methamphetamines when he's on stage. Good lord - the man has energy, but he looks like he's boxing more than dancing. He's got some rhythm, but he's not channeling it properly into the dance. They did the cha cha cha and if he can learn to use those hips and that energy properly he might do really well.

Race Car Driver, Helio Castranevez and Juliane Hough (winner from last season) were up next and they did a GREAT job.



Helio was very smooth, he did the fox trot and nailed it. He's very theatrical, has a lot of personality and was a joy to watch. I love Juliane too, she really has a knack for picking out great choreography. They are going to go far.

Albert Reed (Model that I've never heard of) and the youngest person to ever dance in this competition was paired with Anna and they did the cha cha cha.



They did a really cute Elvis themed routine, it was fun, he looked like a stripper out there gyrating those hips and open shirt with chest hanging all out. He's a crowd pleaser but he's not very well known so I'm not sure how he's going to fare in the voting area. He has energy, but he didn't do hardly any actual cha cha cha steps. He's cute as hell though!

Mark Cuban (Billionaire and owner of the Dallas Mavericks) was paired with Kym Johnson who I adore! She was Joey's partner last season and I'd love to see her pull off a win.



I love this guy! He has so much presence. He's really funny and easygoing and fun to watch. They did the fox trot and although I'm not sure that he's the best dancer in the world, he knows how to work a room which is important. He also just had a hip replacement so that might be problematic in the future.

Las Vegas Legend, Wayne Newton and Cheryl Burke were paired up and they did the cha cha cha.



Let's put it this way, Cheryl is NOT going to pull of a 3rd win this season. Wayne is very charming, but he can't dance very well. The cha cha cha is a latin dance and you need to use the hips, he didn't do that very well. He was stiff, but I give him a lot of credit for going out there and he might actually get a lot of votes because he's so damn famous and such a sweetheart and so humble and gracious. So, even though he sucks, he might be around a while (like Jerry Springer was) because he's just so popular.

Okay, and of course this is old news, but Model, Josie Moran was the first star to be kicked off. I didn't think she was the worst, but I will say this, she's a bitch! I was watching her in the audience when she was watching the guys dance and she had such a sour look on her face, she looked like a total stuck up snobby bitch, so I'm glad she's gone. The models are always the first to go. ha ha

I was very sad to see Mark and Kym in the bottom two, so I hope they step it up this week!

DWTS - Week 1 One - The Ladies

Okay everyone - it's another season of Dancing with the Stars a nd I finally sat down and watched the premier of season 4. They did a 3-part season opener by starting with the ladies, so I'm only going to review the ladies tonight!

First up was Jennie Garth and her partner Derek Hough. Most of us remember Jennie Garth as Kelly Taylor on 90210. My how I miss that show!!!! Her partner, Derek happens to be the brother of Juliane Hough - she's the pro that won last season's DWTS.



Jennie did a great job. Her and Derek did the cha cha cha - she knew the steps, she shook her hips and she looked beautiful. The thing about Jennie is that I don't buy "sexy" with her. I think I'll buy "graceful" much more when she does the fox trot and the waltz, but she is lacking a bit in self confidence and it shows when she's dancing.

Next up was Josie Maran and Alec Mazo. Josie used to be a covergirl model, she was on a lot of magazines and she's best known for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. She's a hottie for sure, but she's not a good dancer. Models never are!



She did the fox trot and technically there wasn't anything SO WRONG about the routine. She knew the steps and she pulled it off, she was actually pretty elegant. There just wasn't any pizazz and no real flare. She was just kind of going through the motions. Definitely not the mark of a DWTS champion.

The next person that danced literally blew me away....



Sabrina Bryan of the Cheetah Girls and Mark Ballas Jr. did the cha cha cha and it was the by far the best routine of the whole night. She literally looked like a pro, she had the best technique, the most style, the best flare, she shook her hips like there was no tomorrow and she even added a hip hop flare to the dance which I loved. The judges didn't love it so much, but they agreed that she was the bomb! She is definitely the one to beat.

Next up was Marie Osmond and her partner Jonathan Roberts.



I love Marie Osmond! I'm pretty sure I watched her on TV when I was young, but I didn't know how awesome she is. She is a true performer. She has an infectious smile, she knew how to work that room even though her dance wasn't technically perfect and it wasn't very fast and she didn't have the footwork down, she played the part so well that I totally bought it and I really enjoyed watching her. Part of dancing is having confidence and being able to light up a room. She did that for me!

Mel B. of the Spice Girls and her partner Maxim C. were up next and they did the cha cha cha.




I was never a big fan of the Spice Girls and I definitely thought Scary Spice was tacky, but she was really good on that dance floor. She has a GREAT body, a beautiful face, she really knew the dance, she shook the hips, she did everything right. She didn't blow me away like Sabrina did, but she is definitely one to keep an eye on.

The last person up was Jane Seymour and her partner Tony.



They did the fox trot and she was so elegant. She's a perfectionist and it shows. I was really happy to see her do a GREAT job. She's tall, she has the graceful lines, flowy hands and wow does she look good. She's the oldest lady to ever perform on the show and so far she's nailing it. It'll be interesting to see how she does with the faster latin numbers.

So far, this season is making me very happy. I can't wait to watch the boys perform tomorrow.

I hate my car

Here's the car and I when we were on better terms....





Today, we are not speaking.

I got up this morning earlier than I needed to so that I could start the car and if it didn't work, I could call my friend David for a ride. He drives a limo, but he was off today.

So, much to my surprise, the car started, I was happy and I went back inside to get ready for work. I went back outside an hour later and the freakin thing wouldn't start! Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me?

Jesus!

So, I had to call David, he saved the day, came to the house, gave me a jump and we took it to Sears once again and he gave me a ride to work. I was an hour late which really distressed me because who wants to be late on their first week of work? I mean, what the hell? I was literally freaking out.

They were cool about it. I worked through lunch and the receptionist gave me a ride back to Sears at the end of the day. Again, they tell me they fixed some cables there were loose and I drove it home just fine. So, is it going to start tomorrow morning? Who knows?! I hope so. The good thing about this is that the receptionist lives like 2 streets over, so she said she'd give me a ride in to work tomorrow if the car doesn't start. She's cool as hell too so at least I made a new friend.

I am so happy that tomorrow is Friday. I'd love to play some poker this weekend, but funds are tight until I get my first paycheck. Oh well. We'll see how it goes. I'm actually going to two different parties on Saturday. They are both birthday parties, they both start at 7 p.m. and they both hired entertainment. One girl has a D.J. and one girl is having a band.

I'm not really sure what this says, but I found out how my blog is getting so much attention. Check this out!!!!!

My new friend Armijn hooked me up with a forum! How cool! We are hoping to collaborate on something very cool in the future so I'll keep you guys updated!

Well, it's 8 p.m. and as usual I haven't eaten any dinner, I need to go to the store and stock up on energy drinks and I'm out of bottle water too. Not to mention, I'm trying to get an article cranked out tonight so I better run - TGIF BABY!!!!

DWTS Update this weekend I hope and the Office starts tonight - yay!

Dead Again...

Work was good today. I am learning the job, it's interesting, the day went by pretty fast and I didn't totally hate getting off at 6 p.m. Yeah, the sun was down and everyone else gets to leave at 5 p.m. but on the flip side, I had enough work to keep me busy the whole time and I actually got to read a few blogs today.

What did SUCK was that when I went out to lunch, I stopped at the gas station, filled up and then went to start my car and it was DEAD! The battery died on me AGAIN. This has been an ongoing problem since I bought the piece of shit car and I bought a new battery from Sears a month or two ago, so something is definitely going on - maybe the alarm or the stereo is draining the battery or maybe the alternator is bad. I dunno. I got a jump at the gas station, picked up lunch, headed back to the office and the when I got off, the damn thing wouldn't start again. I had to get another jump from a guy at work and I went striaght to Sears where the guy tested my battery and the levels were fine. He found a loose wire and fixed it and it worked. I went to my meeting tonight and the car sat for an hour and a half and it started up just fine. So, the true test will be tomorrow morning when I head off to work. I am PRAYING that it will start, but I'm worried that it won't. God, car stuff gets on my nerves so bad. This car thing couldn't have happened at a worse time, my roommate is out of town, I have no boyfriend to "Save" me and I have a brand new job and I definitely don't want to take off work. UGH!

Recently a friend sent this picture to me, it was taken in Caesar's Palace in Atlantic City, I had never been to Las Vegas and I thought Atlantic City was the SHIT!!!!! Wow, ignorance is bliss huh?? A.C. was certainly better than Baltimore and that's where I was used to hanging out.

I'm so laughing at this picture - my hair was too long, my pants were too tight, my shirt was too short and I was probably on beer #9 and it wasn't even noon yet.

If only I knew then what I know now. I guess everyone says that though :)

I hate to keep talking about work, but it's all I'm doing right now. I went in at 7:30 a.m. today and we had an administrative staff meeting. So, I got off at 5 p.m. thankfully instead of 6. This getting off work at 6 p.m. thing is killing me.

At any rate, I trained all morning and then the IT guy got my computer set up in the conference room. We are so short on space that I have to work in the conference room until we move to the new office. So, check it out, I have the conference room to myself, internet, e-mail, speakers to listen to music, my adam corolla show in the morning (he is so fucking funny), access to all my blogs - yay! and a window that looks out in the very exciting parking lot. So, I'm good. Now I have to decide if I'm going to install yahoo messenger. I think the answer for now is no. I can't have Waffles distracting me all day.

She was happy. Especially when I gave her red gatorade afterwards.

I heard on the news this morning that Keifer Sutherland was arrested for a DUI. I thought to myself that he had been arrested for DUI before, but then I got home and saw this little tidbit on Perez Hilton's site...

Not cool. Not cool at all."

FOUR TIMES??????? He's been arrested FOUR times for DUI? Wow! That's a bit much don't you think? I guess he's going to find himself going to rehab to "please the court" just like Lindsay. Otherwise he's going to jail for sure!

Speaking of Lindsey - I heard she's coming home this weekend. Watch out Hollywood.

I promise I will be doing Dancing with the Stars writeups every week, but considering how busy I am at my day job now, and at night too, I might be doing the writeups on the weekends. Day One...

I'm so tired, this isn't going to be a long post. Work was annoying today because I don't have a desk or a computer yet. I sat at someone else's desk and trained all day. I'm learning to write up proposals, it's definitely a lot more stimulating to my mind than my last job was. The phrase "file this" didn't enter into any of my conversations today, so that's a VERY GOOD THING! I will actually be utilizing my writing skills in this new job so that's a plus.

I haven't worked this hard in a really long time. No computer, no e-mail, no yahoo messenger to talk to Waffles on, what the hell? I'll get the computer eventually, but for now no messenger. Sad Sad. I didn't get to read a single blog today. YUCK!

I will say that they have a stash of candy, snacks, and drinks etc. that they supply for the staff (for free), that would make Costco jealous. I will definitely gain weight at this place.

Oh, and so far, no love connections. You guys were right about "engineers" not being sexy. DAMMIT! I had such high hopes.

Well, that's it for tonight. I need food, and then I need my bed. Tomorrow we have a meeting at 7:30 a.m., so I have to get up EARLY!

Not Just Any Monday

Tomorrow is my first day at the new office. UGH!!!!!!!!! I'm not looking forward to it. I hate first days. They are the worst. Of course I think I did the right thing by switching jobs, but I hate being the new girl, I hate the whole learning curve. You always feel like a moron when you start a new job because everything is new and it usually seems pretty hard at first. Eventually it'll get easier, but the first day is always the worst. I hate not knowing anyone - it's so awkward. UGH! Oh well, everyone has to go through it, so I'll just suck it up and forge through.

I didn't do a pool this weekend. I could have, it wasn't that bad out, it rained Friday, but it cleared up on Saturday. I thought it was going to be yucky on Saturday so I went and got my nails done and I got a pedicure and then I went to the mall and bought two dresses for the wedding.

I am going to my cousin's wedding in upstate New York next week. This is going to be a hellish trip indeed. I am leaving work Thursday evening and heading to the airport. I'll be flying 5 hours to Maryland and crashing at my parent's place. Then, the three of us are getting up Friday morning and driving about 5 hours to upstate new york, to some place called Milbrooke. This town is so small, they don't even have a hotel. They have a bed and breakfast with like 4 rooms and that's it! So, we are staying about 30 minutes away in Poughkeepsie. I have so share a hotel room with my parents - FUN! We are going to the rehearsal dinner Friday night, the wedding is on Saturday and then a champagne brunch on Sunday. After brunch, we get back into the car, drive another 5 hours back to maryland where I'll spend Sunday night at my parent's house and then Monday I get to hop back on a plane and fly 5 more hours back to Vegas. I'm SO NOT looking forward to this trip. Oh well, it's my family and I have to do it, so hopefully the wedding cake will be good.

I did buy two new dresses at the mall yesterday, those should help ease the pain :)

Shout out to my personal photographer for always taking pictures of me. He's leaving tomorrow so Lucy and I are roughing it on our own for a few days. Who the hell is going to cook me dinner?

Oh well, I'm working on Manadaly Bay from last weekend, so that'll be up soon too.

I haven't linked any of my pokerworks articles lately, so here's a nice littleshopping one that I came up with.


On my plate for this weekend... ummmmm - the mall? Actually, funds are low, so probably not. I'm doing the Red Rock thing with some of the girls, and I found out that my friend Elaine spends all day Sunday in the Sports Book at the Red Rock watching football. Who knew? I might throw on the Ravens jersey and head over there with her, that's where I can find my roommate on sundays too.

Don and I just about done with The Office, we've been watching one whole netflix CD every night and turning it in. We whipped through season 1, season 2 and now we are almost finished with season 3. I can't say it enough - I love The Office!!!!

Last Day at Work!

Tomorrow (Friday) is my last day of work, so today the girls from my office took me this restaurant called Panevino for lunch.

It was perfect because it wasn't all forced, and I got to go out and have a nice lunch with the people I actually LIKE from work. My boss wasn't there and that was a good thing because we wouldn't have been real if he was there. It would have been "fake" and "business like". The girls I work with are the shit and they are the one thing I'll miss from this company. They do this thing where we work that when it's your birthday, they buy you a cake from Costco and everyone in the company gathers in the conference room and sings happy birthday. It's a nice idea in theory, but I hate it so much because we have to gather with the group of people next door that on a normal basis, talk shit about us behind our backs, send us nasty e-mails all the time, and fucking basically make our lives hell at work. But, for this one day we have to suffer through this awkardness of singing happy birthday to someone along with the owner and all the other big wigs that don't even usually say hi to us. SO GAY! Don't pretend to be a loving caring company and then fucking tell us we can't take the day off when a family member is in the hospital because "things are just too crazy and you need us at work". Bullshit! I won't miss that birthday thing at all.

So, at lunch today, there was 3 girls that wanted to treat me and only one of me. So, this place has the most kick ass desserts and I LOVE desert. So, I had just a small pasta salad for lunch which one girl paid for and then each of the other two girls bought me desert. I actually have on here at home with me that I'm going eat while I watch Survivor.

Am I going a little crazy with my new camera? I mean, who takes pictures of their food? Well, I do. I'm a visual person, I like to see things. It drives me nuts sometimes when I become friendly with a blogger and I can't picture what they actually look like. I'll have an image in my head and it's NEVER right. People always look different than how I would expect them to look.

You guys don't have that problem with me because I put pictures up as often as possible.

So, just to touch on the relationship issue. I know I kind of left you guys wondering what happened with me and Doug. Well, honestly, I'm not really sure. All I know is that he wanted a bunch of drama, his ex girlfriend stole from him, cheated on him, lied to his face, she was very young, and she ended up going back out and using drugs again. I'll give her one thing though, she kept things interesting. He loves chaos and excitement (as I used to) and he didn't really get that with me because I've grown up a lot. I like my relationships to go smoothly and that's just not what he was looking for I guess. Oh well, I guess some of us have to kiss a lot of frogs before we find Prince Charming.

Cute poker guy from the Sahara Tourney wants me to meet up with him this weekend. I might do it.

It's Friday!!!!

Fun on Hump Day

I head to court this morning, I arrive promptly at 8:00 a.m. and I am greeted with pure CHAOS!!!!!! Every station in town is in front of the courthouse with cameras and microphones and trucks with satellites, there are helicopters circling overhead non-stop, there are fans and haters walking around carrying signs to display there love or disgust for O.J. AND there is a woman handing out free Orange Juice, saying "Free O.J." How clever? I politely turned her down. There was a huge line out the door for us people who actually belong there. I have to wait to get through security, I have to wait in line for the elevator, I almost die of claustrophobia when I finally get in the elevator and there are NO seats in the court room when I finally get there. The whole left side of the court room is full of inmates hoping to be released. Ahhhh, a lovely picture of blue jumpsuits, shackles and handcuffs.

So, court went WELL, I am completely done, the DUI was dropped down to a reckless and I'm a free woman. SWEET! I'm glad to put that behind me.

After work, I didn't have time to drive home before heading to the Sahara to meet MiamiDon and Drewspop so I thought about taking the scenic route, otherwise known as the strip. But, luckily I heard this little tidbit on the radio. A diabetic driver was cruising down the strip, he went into a seizure and he ran up on the curb and hit 26 people in front of Planet Hollywood!!!!!!!!! Holy shit! Never a dull moment in Las Vegas right? Luckily I found a different way to get to the Sahara and made it in time.

So, the tourney sucked, but I had fun. I mean, my table was cool, the dealers were great and I got some great pictures, so I'll be doing my next poker room review on - you guessed it - The Sahara. Yeah, it's a little dumpy, but whatever.

Okay - let me just throw this out there... Drewspop is a good looking guy!!!!! I mean, he's happily married, I'm not hitting on him, I'm just saying that I am always surprised when I meet bloggers and they are good looking. But guess what? A lot of them are good looking. We have a good looking crew people!!!!!

So, check it out ladies. The poker room is a great place to meet guys. I mean, there was a hottie at my table (he's not in the picture) and he just called - so that's pretty cool. I mean, do I really want to date another poker player? Well, is it any worse that dating a drug addict? Where am I supposed to meet a nice guy these days? Oh well - it's time to watch The Office - Good night!!!!!

Okay, so I don't know why I didn't talk about this before, but basically, I've been looking for a new job, and on Friday after much interviewing (5 interviews to be exact) and a few tests, I was finally given a job offer with an Engineering Company here in Las Vegas.

Yay! Along with the job comes a nice hefty pay raise, sick leave (I didn't have that before), medical and dental (I only had medical before), 401K where the company MATCHES what you put in (oh hell yeah!) and a staff of hot single young engineer types. Actually, I don't know about that last part, but I'm hoping.

So, I start the new gig on Monday, I have to work 9 - 6 p.m. which kind of sucks, but oh well. I'm definitely going to have a lot more responsibilities, I'm a little nervous but I hope that I'm up to the challenge. I think I am. I really wanted this and it happened for a reason, so yay!!

Friday I'm going out for a girl's night out at the Red Rock Casino. This is a whole separate crew of girls that I don't usually hang out with, because they don't actually go out that often. Most of them are married and stuff, and they do drink, so that might be a challenge, but if it's not working for me, I'll just leave. I think it'll be a lot of fun though. It's always nice to meet new people and people watching at the Red Rock is sure to be fun. Pictures to come as always.

So, can we all just take a moment to laugh about the court awarding O.J.'s rolex to the Goldman's? How freaking funny is that? I just love it. If I was the Goldman's I'd be like "hey, I like that green shirt he's wearing, SHIP IT!!!!" and "hmmm, what about that superbowl ring?? That looks pretty shiny - send it on over". I actually don't know if he has any superbowl rings, but I'm sure someone can can clarify that for us. I really think karma is coming around to bit O.J. in the ass. Let's hope so!

And, how did I almost forget about this? Today I'm going back to court for hopefully the last time EVER to finalize my DUI stuff. I have to turn in the $580 fine, turn in the proof that I took the DUI course, give them the paperwork showing that I went to the Victim Impact Panel and hopefully if all goes well, they will immediately drop it down to a reckless and I will never have to re-visit this DUI thing again. Here's a funny thing. I just heard on the news that O.J. will be in court this morning. I'll be in Las Vegas court this morning. Maybe I'll run into him. I'll make sure to get a picture and sell it to TMZ!

Saturday!

Over the weekend I went to the Mandalay Bay to check out the pool - pretty nice place, but VERY crowded. The cool thing about that place is that they have an actual wave pool and a sandy beach. It's the closest thing in the desert that I've found that reminds me of laying on the beach in Delray or Fort Lauderdale. With the exception that there are black jack tables all around.

So, this is what the pool looks like without all the people and without all the chairs crammed in. Very pretty right?






Well, in actuality, it's a madhouse, chairs all over the place. I managed to squeeze into the one lone chair I found at one of the side pools, off in a corner, still very nice, but I really have to start leaving the house earlier if I want to score a prime seat at the main pool. Every saturday morning I am amazed when I get to the pool at like 10:30 a.m. and all the chairs are gone. I should know better by now.

Saturday was also my sponsor, Lisa's anniversary. No, not her wedding anniversary, it was the anniversary of her 23rd year clean - no drugs and no alcohol. So, we went to this place in The District called King's Fish House. It was pretty good. They actually had a nice variety of food. I had crabcakes for an appetizer and then a crunchy roll (sushi) for my main course. I love seafood! I was pretty impressed with the crabcakes. They weren't as good as Maryland crab cakes, but the had a nice flavor.

Lisa's the one at the head of the table and all of the other girls are the ones that she sponsors. She also has 6 kids. Busy lady huh?



Anwyay, it was really fun.

I meant to tell you guys that I saw Halloween a few weeks ago. I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you like scary movies, check it out.

I think she looks great! She is aging really well, I love her hair down, she has very pretty hair and the color of her dress is fabulous. I love magenta. I watch her show, "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and I think it's so funny. I'm not sure what she was nominated for, but I hope she wins.

This is a hard color to pull off and I'm not sure that she does pull it off very well. The more I look at this dress, the more I am not thrilled about the color. But, I will say - wow - how old is she? She is really looking good, her face and body look great. I aspire to look so well when I get older.

VERY NICE! I love this dress. The color is so bold and it looks great with her skin color and her dark hair. Women with darker features can really pull off the bold colors. Her back is sexy too.

Married life is really agreeing with her. This dress really takes sexy to another level. I mean, I love how low cut it is in the front, but somehow it doesn't look slutty. I also love the bottom, almost see through, but not quite. And, then a little bit of bling in the center gives it the perfect amount of sparkle to dress things up. She's HOT.

Okay, and a late entry to the "DON'T" section is Jenna Fisher from the Office...



What the??? Why is she wearing this? I'm not fond of grey and gold together. And girl, that bow is horrendous. I understand that she dresses really drab on the Office and she probably wants to spice things up, she should have went with something similar to what Eva Longoria wore. I would guess that she has some nice legs on her, but I guess we'll never know now will we?
