It's Friday!

Good morning and Happy Friday to everyone!

My sponsor is having a meeting for all of the women she sponsors on Saturday at her house. We do it once a month. She keeps taking on new sponsees, so the meeting is getting longer and longer. We each bring a dish and for the past 6 months I've been bringing the fruit platter. It's simple - I head to Smiths and buy one with lots of strawberries and pineapple and it's a really good day if I manage to find one with mango in it too. A lot of the girls are creative and they make fun dishes, but I don't cook, so I always bring chips, sodas or fruit platter.

About half of the group is on weight watchers, so they always bring some healthy low fat dessert which is annoying. hehe I think the more fattening the better.

What's everyone else doing this weekend?

Anyone coming to Vegas? I'm hoping to play some poker this weekend. I'm writing an article and it's poker room related, so of course, playing poker will be a work related task for me.

I've been in a major slump with my writing. I need to dig back in. Writing is so good for me, it gives me confidence, it's a good way to express myself and of course the money is great too. But, I haven't been able to sit down and write for a few weeks. It's time to work through this writer's block I have. I don't know what my problem is, but I need to get over it. Not to mention, the extra money is AWESOME. I need that money.

Next weekend is our annual Dopes on Slopes ski trip to Brianhead, UT. There is like 65 of us heading up there this year for the trip - can't wait! I had a blast there last year.

Well, have a good weekend. I'll be catching up on all your blogs - I'm so far behind!

Bad Judge of Character

Okay, so a little more about the robbery. Most of you were right on when you said I should take a look at my "friends". What happened was a few weeks ago I was at an NA Meeting, it was a Tuesday night and this girl that I never saw before walks in, sits in the chair next to me and proceeds to cry through the whole meeting. I felt sorry for her. She was obviously in pain, so my friend Sari and I introduced ourselves, gave her our number and told her about some other good meetings. Her name is Traci. She started to call me here and there and she also started to show up at some of the meetings I told her about. The next Tuesday she brought her mom and her husband to the meeting, so I met them both, they both seemed like really nice people. Fast forward to this past weekend, it was a Friday night and we all went out to eat after the meeting. Traci tags along with us to eat and then after that we were all going bowling. She didn't want to go by herself, so I let her come to my house where I changed my clothes, went to the bathroom, grabbed some socks and then we headed out. She was there a total of about 10 minutes. I think while she was there, she was scoping out the place. She knew that my roommate was out of town and she saw that I go in and out of the house through the garage door. I don't ever use the front door. I think she actually unlocked the front door while she was there.

The next day, Saturday, I got up to run some errands and she called while I was out. She was wondering how long I was going to be cause she wanted to hang out. I come home and I realize my house has been robbed. The front door was unlocked, no windows had been broken or anything and the person went straight for my stuff. It was definitely her. She even had her phone cut off the next day.

I'm such a bad judge of character. This is why I rarely ever have anyone over to my house. I never know who to trust and when I do trust someone, I usually get hurt.

So, I guess I'll be heading to the mall this weekend to try to replace some of the stuff that was stolen. I'll probably buy like two new Bebe Sweatsuits and I need to get a new pair of brown boots since she stole those too. Of course, I wear a size 4 and this chick wears about a size 20, so I don't know why she stole my clothes. I'm guessing you can get money for those sweatsuits if you go to a vintage store or something. I think you can sell them on E-Bay too. Whatever. This chick has 2 kids too! What a great role model huh?

She also took the bags of clothes I had in the garage that I was going to give to goodwill. Weird.

Robbed

I haven't written about this yet because I've been trying to process my feelings. When something bad happens to me, I usually sit around in a funk for a few days and then eventually I'll open up and talk about it.

So, over the weekend my house was broken into. The person stole all of my jewelry, my Coach purses, my very expensive Bebe sweatsuits and a pair of my boots. HUH? Weird right? They didn't touch any of the computers or T.V's thank god. They went straight for MY favorite stuff. I'm like so heartbroken over this. I love my stuff. I don't have much jewelry, but I had a couple of nice pieces and they are now gone. And, bebe sweatsuits are very expensive, so I usually only get to buy one or two a year. Usually my mom will treat me to one when she's in town. They are all gone now. Ugh - I'm about to cry just writing this.

So, I was afraid to leave the house this whole weekend because I was scared that whoever did this was going to try to come back and get the bigger stuff. So, I laid around on the couch and stared at the door all weekend. They never came back.

I keep having visions of someone going through my stuff - it's a horrible feeling. I feel so violated. It sucks.

She never shuts up

I don't know what is going on with my computer today. I can't log onto hotmail - it keeps giving me a server error. I am unable to stream my Adam Corolla clips - I have no idea why. It works every other day. I'm sure the idiot computer guy here did something to the computers and now they are all slow and fucked up. He should just leave well enough alone.

The fine people over at the U.S. Treasury direct deposited my tax refund in my account yesterday. Good times! I'm ready to go shopping.

The new girl at work is getting on my last nerve. She never fucking shuts up. All day she is constantly drivelling on and on about nothing. She is always interrupting me for no reason. She's loud and abrasive and annoying. She's trying way too hard to fit in. The receptionist doesn't like her either. I wear headphones all day and listen to music or the Adam Corolla Show to try and drown her out, but she'll still sit there and try to talk to me - even when I'm wearing the headphones. So annoying.

Well, that's all I have right now. Does anyone have any creative ideas on how I can get the new girl to shut up? Please share!

The Red Carpet at the Oscars

As most of you know, yesterday was the Oscars. I have to say, they were a little boring in regards to the red carpet and the clothing. Everyone looked glamorous and beautiful - there was nothing crazy to make fun of. I digged really deep though and I found a couple of dont's to mix in with all of the do's.

So, without further Ado, I bring you my oscars red carpet report...

Katherine Heigl

She looked very pretty - I love the color of her dress - it's a beautiful eye catching red that was meant for her. It fits her like a glove, shows off her curves and looks great with her skin tone and her hair. I love that she wore her hair down, but kind old school glamorous.

Keri Russel

This dress is boring. There is nothing that stands out. It's very plain, it should either be tighter to show off her body, or it would be nice if she had some jewels on the dress - something to make it pop. I also don't think those beads around her neck look very good with that neckline. She should have worn some diamonds instead.

Hilary Swank

She looks okay, I don't love it and I don't hate it.

Renee Zellwegger

Renee looks pretty good in this dress. I think she'd look better with a tan and with longer hair. I hate when she gets her hair cut that short, she looks better with a longer style. I like the slit in this dress, but I think she would look better in something with some color because her skin is so pale, she sort of just blends in with this dress.

Anne Hathaway

Anne is a pretty girl, she chose to wear red - alot of people wore red and she wears it well. I like the flowers that go across her shoulder, but I'm not thrilled about the bottom of the dress. I don't like those dresses that look like a bubble on the bottom. Also, I think she should have worn her hair down. Her face is so pale and everytime I look at this picture, I see her eyebrows. They are too dark and too thick. I think if she wore her hair down, her face wouldn't jump out so much. Too drastic.

Penelope Cruz

Penelope is fantastic. I love everything about her in this picture. The dress is awesome, the feathers are just enough to be glamorous, but not over the top. Her figure goes well with this dress, it's not boxy or bag lady looking, and I love her hair. She wore it down - more people should have done that.

Tilda Swinson

This chick is so ugly. I think she makes herself look ugly on purpose. Her hair is bull dyke looking, her face is too pale, her dress looks like something you would buy in the bedding department or possibly near the curtains in Sears. The whole thing is a don't.

Heidi Klum and Seal

They are a sharp looking couple. He dresses well all the time, she knows how to dress perfectly for her body. The red is very eye catching and glamorous.

Jessica Alba

I know she's pregnant, but this dress has no shape to it. I like when pregnat women dress in something a little form fitting and they are proud to be pregnant and they celebrate their curves. Jessica looks like she's wearing a bag almost.

George Clooney and girlfriend...

George looks great like always, I'm not in love with his girlfriend's dress. The pattern on this dress makes her look like she's wearing curtains.

Lisa Rinna

Lisa looks okay, but I can't stand how awesome she thinks she is. Everytime I see her, she's OVERLY confident. I want to slap that smirk right off of her face.

Daniel Day Lewis and his wife Rebecca Miller

They get my vote for worst dressed couple on the red carpet. Is he wearing hiking boots with that tux? And what the hell is with those red bows near her shoulders? Ugh, there is so much yuckiness going on in this picture. My head hurts.

Cameron Diaz...

I love the color of this dress. The pale pink is very pretty and from the front she looks awesome, but I don't like the back because it's wrinkled. There's like too much going on back there with the bow and the gathering and the wrinkles. I'm sure it looked great when she left the house, but then she got in her limo and now it's fucked up. I would hate to see after she sits through the whole awards show.

Did anyone happen to see Reese Witherspoon or Halle Berry? They are two of my favorite red carpet syle icons. I couldn't find pictures of either one of them at this event.

Payday Friday!

Another weekend is upon us! I actually woke up with a spring in my step this morning. It's a good feeling when you are ready to face the day instead of trying to bury yourself under the covers wishing you were dead. Depression is a BITCH. I hate it.

Anyway - I have some tentative plans for the weekend. My roommate is going out of town so I'm throwing a kegger party! ha ha That's a joke. I miss house parties though - I miss playing beer pong - I miss waking up and not knowing where I am, who's next to me and how I got there. Nah, not really, it's nice to wakeup without a hangover.

For real though, I think I'm spending the day with my friend David on Saturday. Him and I share the same homegroup and we've been friends since I first dragged my sorry ass into NA. We both sat in the back together and shared our love for poker, made fun of people in the meetings and talked shit about everyone. Now, we both sit in the front because he runs the meetings and I am the treasurer. We still talk shit about people, but it's not as obvious. He's really been killing it around town. He's a great poker player and I've decided my tight tight tight method of playing just isn't cutting it anymore. So, he's gonna give me some pointers. Should be a fun time. He also speaks at a homeless shelter once a month, so we are both going to speak over there this weekend. Good times. There is nothing better than a homeless shelter to bring some gratitude into my life.

Just a quick recap on Tim - remember I was dating him for about two weeks? Well, he disappeared off the face of the earth. Literally, everything was great on Sunday, we talked a little bit on Monday but I sensed some attitude coming from him and that was the last time I heard from him. I swear to god, this shit happens to me all the time. I can't tell you how many guys I've dated and then they just disappear - without a word. At least the Drama Queen told me what was going on as stupid as his reason was, at least he was honest and tried to remain friends with me. Tim could be dead for all I know. But whatever, it was fun while it lasted. I knew he was just someone to have fun with, I knew it wasn't going to last. He had way too much baggage anyway, he has two kids that live in Ohio by two different mothers. I don 't even know if he's paying child support. I think he has some outstanding warrants in Ohio too. He doesn't even have a car. I really need to meet a better quality guy.

I haven't been to the mall since I went to Florida in December. Isn't that crazy? I've been really good - so I think I'm due for a trip to the mall. Maybe this weekend.

It's FRIIIIIIIDAAAAAAAY!!!!!!

Le Tourment Vert

I hate it when something comes along - a new drug - a new drink - something that I never had the chance to try when I was partying.

Okay, obviously this isn't new, but it was banned here in the United States for a long time because...

Absinthe containing wormwood has been illegal here since 1912, after a notorious legal case led to it being banned in several European countries. Absinthe, it was said, was powerful enough to cause a man to see demons, murder his family, and the like. This was blamed on thujone, a hallucinogenic compound in the wormwood.

Really???? It's that strong? Really? Powerful enough to cause a man to see demons? Hallucinogenic? Oh my god - I want to try it!

From TMZ...

Spies at the Palms Hotel and Casino tell TMZ that Paris and sis Nicky and their entourage indulged last weekend in a bottle of Le Tourment Vert, a French import, as did partymate Tommy Lee. And we're also told that Lil' Wayne liked it so much -- he's featuring it in his newest music video.

Not only that - but Moon at the Palms dedicated a whole night to this drink...

The Maloof Brothers present a special night of “MYSTERY, MYTH and MAYHEM” to celebrate the return of the great French Absinthe Le Tourment Vert at Moon Nightclub on Monday, February 25th. Le Tourment Vert, French for Green Torment, is an authentic French absinthe that is handcrafted in limited batches at Distillerie Vinet Ege. Le Tourment Vert is created by a three step process from a recipe that is over 100 years old.

So, have any of you guys tried this drink?

Is it really all it's cracked up to be? It seems to be the all the latest rage even though it's very old.

Hump Day!

Somehow I left Priscilla Presley off my Dancing With the Stars list from yesterday. I think we are all WELL aware of who Priscilla is - basically she's the chick that walks down her long driveway, opens the mailbox and opens big fat ass royalty checks from whenever someone sings one of her dead husband's songs. Case in point, I think two people on American Idol last night sang Elvis songs. Ching ching for Priscilla - that's two more checks for her to deposit.

Okay, so the odds come out from the Wynn on Dancing with the Stars and the obvious choice is Kristie Yamuguchi - she dances on ice - that's gotta be much harder than dancing with heels - not to mention she's asian and they have a GREAT work ethic. ha ha What? They do? My nail salon people are always open!

But see, for some freaking reason, a guy always wins, so who knows.

Enough about DWTS - but I will say this - I'm watching the show and doing updates again this season - so stay tuned - I dropped the ball last season, but I promise not to do that again this time.

I have a major project to work on this morning regarding Las Vegas, the strip and a new casino - that's all I'm at liberty to say - so back to work I go.

Oh any funny story - the pretty boy that I was dating that was really bad for me that I stopped dating, called me yesterday and asked me to take him to a meeting - I guess his social life is becoming a lot less social and a lot more harmful to his well being. He says he wants to stop partying, but he doesn't know if he can. I used to feel the same way. I used drinking and drugging as a crutch to get me through life and then when I thought about taking those things away I was scared to death. I didn't think I could live a day without drugs. So much in fact that I took drugs into rehab with me. Amazingly I didn't get caught until I walked out two days later when I used my whole supply. The supply I brought in to last me 30 days, I used in two days and then walked out after my parents spent $7,000 to send me there. And that was a cheap one! The one I really wanted to go to was $15,000 for 30 days.

Anyway, so I guess I'll take him to a meeting if he's serious or at least I'll tell him where one is and meet him there and introduce him to some people.

DWTS is BACK!

The Official Lineup of the new season of Dancing with the Stars...

My favorite radio personality Adam Carolla

Former CSI: Miami lab tech Cristián de la Fuente

American Pie exchange student and poker player Shannon Elizabeth

1980s box-office force Steve Guttenberg

R&B singer Mario ("Just a Friend")

Oscar winner Marlee Matlin (Children of a Lesser God)

Cape-eschewing magician Penn Jillette

Tennis legend Monica Seles

Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor

Tony winner Marissa Jaret Winokur (Hairspray)

Olympic figure-skating champ Kristi Yamaguchi

When I first read over ths list, I recognized a lot of names, but couldn't figure out who any of these people were. Once I started searching for images, I realized that I know most of these people.

A couple of predictions...

We all know I'm pulling for Adam Corolla - so I'm hoping he wins.

I think Shannon Elizabeth will be kicked off pretty quickly because she's pretty and pretty girls don't go far on this show.

Mario seems pretty suave, I have a feeling he'll do well.

Steve Guttenberg is talented, has a great personality and cute in his own nerdy way, so he might do okay.

Jaret Winokur - um - not sure what to say about her except that you need to be in shape for this competition and she's not in shape, but she'll probaby lose a lot of weight if she lasts.

Have I mentioned I love Fridays?

It's Friday!

My mom ROCKS! I finally got my W2 yesterday, took it to work, faxed it to her in Maryland, and within about 5 hours she did my taxes and paid the fee to submit them electronically for me and the govt. should be direct depositing the money into my bank account within the next two weeks.

YES! Technology rocks. My mom is the best.

Guess what, dear mom bowled a 255 game last week on her Friday night league. That's right! Damn near a perfect game! I think she bowled like 100 pins over her average, she has the highest game that's been bowled on that league this whole year and she's gonna get some money and awards at the end. Good Times!

I went bowling at Red Rock Lanes two weeks ago and was THRILLED to bowl a 109. It's a good day when I break 100 at the lanes.

Here's my cute little mom with her cute little brother...

Trivia Fact, My Uncle Wayne lives in Detroit which was recently voted the shittiest city in the country - good times! Wayne needs to get his ass out here to Vegas.

Happy Friday!!!!!!!!

Another V-Day

Well, it's Valentine's Day. Last year I remember being in a meeting on a Wednesday night at the my homegroup and that's how I spent my Valentine's Day. Tonight - well, let's just say it's like that movie Groundhog Day. I'm repeating the same thing over and over again.

Tonight however is Thursday, so the meeting will be in a different location and I'm going to pick up my friend that is on house arrest awaiting trial and take her to the meeting with me. Nothing like doing something nice for someone else to get you out of your head and make you grateful for the blessings in your life today.

It'll be good times. I'm looking forward to spending some time with this girl because she's an amazing and strong woman. I honestly don't know if I was in her position, knowing I killed someone, knowing I was going to jail and knowing I have a lifetime of guilt to deal with - if I'd be able to stay clean.

Holy shit - I got high because I loved the feeling of being hi ght, but I also liked the feeling of not dealing with reality and temporarily forgetting about my problems, not dealing with life and turning my brain off for a while.

She was actually given the opportunity to go out and work while she's awaiting trial, so she's got a job at the mall.

Anyway, enough about that - my new boyfriend, Tim and I are celebrating Valentine's Day this weekend. He's going to take me to dinner someplace, I'm thinking it might be fun to head downtown to Fremont Street, do the whole tourist thing and check out someplace new.

On sunday my sponsor's daughter is in a beauty pageant. She's like 14 or something, this is her first pageant but I love that kind of shit. I WISH I would have done pageants when I was younger, but I probably would have NEVER won and that would have messed with my self esteem and it would be lower than it already is.

Anyway, I'm totally heading over there to support her in the pageant - should be good times.

They do like an evening gown round, an interview I think and also like a sportswear thing. No swimwear category which I think is a good thing.

So, tell me, what is everyone doing today to celebrate Valentine's Day?????? I think it's overrated and it sucks for people who are alone and it makes them feel like shit and it's really all about money.

Red Carpet - Grammy's

Fergie...

I love this chick. Maybe I'm partial to her because she's battled addictions like me and she overcame her demons. But, whatever, she looks great, she's really grown into her own skin over the last few years. I think her music is super fun and always upbeat and she's about to get married to HOT ASS Josh Duhamel. I want to be her! At any rate, I think the yellow is a breath of fresh air. It's fun and she looks really pretty.

Miley Cyrus (aka Hanna Montana)...

Okay, I don't do the whole Disney kid thing, but from what I hear, she's the SHIT. However, she's 15 years old - wow - doesn't look 15 in this picture. They are really making her look a lot older. She's adorable, but it's a shame to see someone so young trying to act so much older. I hope she doesn't fall into the drug/partying/addiction trap.

Carrie Underwood...

Such a hottie - very talented - love the hair - but hate the dress. It's very unflattering. Why would she wear such a thing? YUCK!!!!!! She looks like she's going on a picnic in lovely green field. She does not look like she's going to be walking down the red carpet.

Rihanna...

I'm so lukewarm about this chic. I don't love her, I don't hate her, I just really don't care about her one way or the other. I think she's fairly attractive, but I am NOT a fan of this dress. It looks prom ish to me. I do not think prom dresses should ever be worn after the age of 17. I mean, really. I guess it's cool that she was trying to think out of the box - but I would say this is a definite "don't" for her.

Beyonce...

I love the new blonde hair and I'm pretty fond of the dress. I think she looks great. The dress reminds me of a fairly princess crossed with a mermaid. I think the color is really cool and she pulls it off pretty well. Not everyone would be able to.

Cher...

Oh good lord Cher - this is hideous. How the hell is this women walking out of the house and thinking she looks okay? Wow. She's always been a horrendous dresser though, so I guess it's part of her thing. And, quite honestly, she's about to come to Vegas and she's getting paid 100 million dollars to do a 3 year stint at Cesar's Palace, so she must be doing something right.

I can't remember this chick's name...

I think she's a new country singer - she's very pretty though and I love the color of this dress! I love it when people get a little brave and through some color into the mix. Black and white is classy, but can be so boring.

Chris Brown...

I had to at least throw a guy into the mix and he made a statement for sure. He looks like the ring leader at the circus - but I guess he took a chance. I'm not feeling it. I think he looks a bit ridiculous.

Lisa Rinna and Joey Fatone...

These two get on my nerves. I do not think she is pretty. I wasn't fond of her on Melrose Place and I'm not fond of her now. I loved Joey on DWTS, but maybe I'm jealous cause they have my dream job and they get to interview celebs on the red carpet - but they are just annoying. She does look good for her age and she has a great body, but she's annoying and she knows she looks good and she obviously gets a lot of plastic surgery done. And Joey is wearing tennis shoes with that suit. Retard!

Okay - that's my grammy red carpet update!

Hump Day

Wow - the new girl started today! Literally she interviewed yesterday and today she shows up ready to work! Why the hell did I have to come bavck 5 times, take a test and go through a million interviews to get this job and she starts after one freaking day?! Whatever - good times! No filing for me. I don't even think I have to train her. Wow - I have a cush job. I'm so lucky.

I'm about to do a Grammy Red Carpet Update so check back in a few minutes.

Update on the boy - he's perfect! We are having a lot of fun together. I'll post pictures this weekend.

My friend at work goes to the Red Rock Casino every single night to play slot machines. Literally, when I first met her she would spend $20 or $40 a night. The addiction has progressed to where she's spending $300, $400 and even $500 a night. I mean, she can do it because her and her husband don't have any kids, they make good money and he works late a lot because he's a big wig over at the new Trump Tower, so it's her form or entertainment.

Last night she left her wallet at work, so she went to the Red Rock without an I.D. or cash or even credit cards and holy shit they gave her a marker! Without an I.D. even. They gave her $500 bucks to just play with and all she had to do was fill out a form. I'm shocked. I thought they only gave markers to high roller craps and blackjack players. So, that was kind of neat to hear. I'll try not to EVER get myself into that situation. But who knew?!

Sunday Stuff

So, this weekend has been really good. I immersed myself in N.A. because I haven't been feeling well, I've been battling depression among other things and I knew that something had to change. So, Friday night I went to my regular meeting, we all went out to eat dinner afterwards and then from there we headed to our friend Jason's house, about 7 people stayed downstairs and played that game Rock Band - is anyone familiar with that game? It's some sort of video game, maybe on the WII - not sure, and they entertained us for many hours as they sang song after song and us hardcore card players went up to the card room and played 3 very long games of spades.

Spades is a card game played by 4 people in teams of 2. The goal is to anticipate how many books you and your parnter can get, bid your hand properly, play out the game and the first team to get to 500 points wins. It can be a very intense game and people take it very seriously. I learned to play back when I was like 18 years old and I learned from people who used to play in prison. I can't tell you how many fights I've seen break out over a game of spades. I remember one time in particular playing with my friend Eric - he had a nervous tick and he used to blink a lot. Well, the guys we were playing with didn't know that that he couldn't control his blinking, and they accused him of giving signals across the table with his eyes - so literally, a huge fight broke out, the table was over turned, a chair went through a sliding glass door, the place was trashed, people were hurt, the police were called and we skipped out of there FAST!

Anyway, we played spades Friday night til about 4 in the morning and it was a blast.

Saturday during the day my sponsor had all of us sponsees over to her house, we had a very long and emotional and intense meeting for 4 hours. One of the girls that she sponsors is on house arrest because she was driving in a blackout, someone ran out in front of her and she killed him. He wasn't in a crosswalk and his intoxication level was .24, but he died and she didn't even know she hit someone and left the scene of the accident. So, she has to live with that for the rest of her life and right now she's awaiting trial. Another girl in our group stabbed her husband while she was high on drugs, he was coming after her, he was abusive, he had the knife and somehow she ended up stabbing him, she was on the run for months, she was stripping to make money, she was doing amateur porn and then she finally turned herself in, went to trial and somehow managed to get probation. This was like 3 years ago, she turned her life around, got married had a baby and then last year when she was pregnant, her mom went into a blind rage, took a bunch of drugs, blacked out and killed her baby sister. Crazy shit. These girls have some serious serious demons they are battling with and it makes my piddly stuff look kind of unimportant and it puts things in perspective.

At any rate, after that meeting, I went to a regular meeting with my friends, we went out to dinner at Red Robin where I had a fantastic creamsicle milkshake - I'm a big fan of whip cream and then, me and my new man branched off and went to the movies.

New man? Yes, there's a new man and he's very cute, super sweet, he doesn't drink or do drugs, he has a job and unlike the loser from last week, he doesn't have a bunch of girls calling his phone, he isn't a drama queen and so far so good.

So, we went to see Cloverfield - I loved it!!!!! It's one of those flicks that you either love or hate, the camera work is crazy and it definitely wasn't a feel good movie - but I loved it.

Update

So, just for the record, last week I talked about the guy that I met that was very cute, but very wrong for me. I knew he was bad news. I won't pretend that I didn't entertain the thought for a while, I knew he'd bring some excitement into my life and I've been missing that much needed excitement. I did go to the movies with him and we did get thai food, but the more I was around him, the more OBVIOUS it became to me that I needed to cut him off completely, so I'm happy to say that he's gone and I'm feeling really good about that.

The friend that introduced me to him, wasn't such a good friend, so I've stopped talking to him too.

I don't know what happened to me after I got a year clean, but somehow the excitement wore off and reality set in that it's just another day and I still have to do all the same things to stay clean that I was doing before and sometimes those things just aren't that exciting.

So, that's just an update on me and my situation.

--------------

Work is about to get a lot more interesting because one of the girls that sits next to me found a new job. She literally got hired at the first place she applied for and right now I'm the only person that knows. She's either giving a week's notice today or she is just making today her last day. She hasn't decided.

Unfortunately, she does a lot of shit work like filing and scanning and I think that stuff is going to be loaded on me. I have a nice cushy job right now and I don't do any of the typical administrative stuff, but I know it's coming my way. Good times.

The only positive thing I can think of about this is that maybe I'll ask for a raise if I have to take on all of her work. Can't hurt to ask right?

Friday Stuff

Who remembers Heidi Fleiss????

Well, apparently she was arrested earlier today here in our lovely state of Nevada for driving during the middle of the day, drunk, with narcotics in her posession and was unable to produce proof of prescription for the meds.

I imagine she's still in jail at this time - here's what she was charged with...

driving without a license,
possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription,
under the influence of a controlled substance and
driving under the influence of a controlled substance

Good times.

And in other news, the writer's strike is supposedly VERY close to ending. I am SO happy for a resolution to be made, it's time to bring The Office back! Also, if they end the strike, the Oscars will go on as planned which means more red carpet action! I swear I missed my calling as a red carpet reporter for E Entertainment.

------------------

I totally forgot to tell you guys I played live poker last weekend at the MGM - it was pretty fun, all in all I ended up losing $15 - so - not bad. I was down $100 and then I worked my way back. Nothing too exciting.

And in other news - I'm still waiting for my W2 from my last job so that I can do my taxes. I finally called them today and they are re-sending it. I am pretty sure I'll be getting money back - I usually do!

Happy Friday!!

I'm Back

Hi guys,

Sorry for the hiatus. I haven't been well. I'm feeling better today, I'm back to work and I'd love to blog about something totally fun and interesting, but I'm WAY behind on all of my celebrity gossip (although I did hear that Britney got out last night). Let's hope she stays on her meds and out of the spotlight for a while.

I saw Rambo a week ago at the Palms - I enjoyed it. It was your typical Rambo movie. I couldn't figure out why the girl looked so familiar and then the next morning she was on the Adam Corolla Show and it finally hit me, she's the girlfriend from Dexter - LOVING that show by the way.

Well, I'm alive, let me research my celebrity sights and maybe I'll have something more interesting to post later.

Not to mention I should probably get to work - Happy Thursday!
