It's Hump Day!

I'm not a big American Idol fan, but I do enjoy a good Paula Abdul scandal. I guess she's been pretty lucid for most of the season, but she must have gotten her prescription filled because last night she was back to her crazy self!

Check it out here...

Okay Paula - she was commenting on that guy's second song but he only sang one!!!! My god she's a trainwreck.

Here she is trying to explain why she was so confused last night on the Ryan Seacrest Morning Show. Unfortunately, she STILL sounds f'ed up this morning.

-----------------

Okay, I hate to toot my own horn - but I was right about Shannon Elizabeth - she was sent packing last night. Nah na na na na hey hey hey Goodbye!!!!!

Marissa and Tony were the other couple in the bottom 2 for the first time. Not surprising really. There's a good chance they are leaving next week.

I made the decision to go to Utah the first weekend of June for the convention, so I won't be here when the bloggers come to town. It was a tough decision because I love the blogger gatherings, but frankly, I don't think many of you are coming out this summer and my sponsor already reserved the hotel rooms for us. I hope I won't regret this decision.

CSI FANS...

Holy Crap!!!!! I'm a huge CSI fan - so it seems VERY ironic to see this story hit the news!!

Poor Christian

Poor Christian De La Fuente - he hurt his arm last night during his second dance. I haven't watched the entire show yet, but I definitely saw the dance where he hurt his arm and they immediately took him to the hospital. I think he's improved a lot since his first week on the show and I'm voting my ass off for him this morning.

Here's the clip

Last night after I worked an hour and a half of overtime and then went to my meeting, I came home and watched Juno - cute movie! I definitely enjoyed it and I thought ellen page was adorable. I have Knocked Up sitting at home and I plan to watch that movie next.

-----------

So, when I was about 18 I met this guy and we quickly became good friends. He was pretty much my best friend for a good 15 years. We never "hooked up" in a romantic way, we just had tons of fun together. He's easily one of the funniest guys I've ever met. So, we lost contact when my life spiraled out of control and I'm sure I did some hurtful things to him although i've sort of blocked out a good portion of that time and I don't remember much.

Well, through the mystical powers of myspace, he found me and we talked on the phone yesterday for the first time in like 5 or 6 years probably. It was a good feeling to talk to him again. He saw the pictures of me on myspace, he saw that I've gotten my act together and he's glad to see that the "old carmen" is back. This is a phrase I hear from a lot of people.

I'm pretty psyched to have him back as a friend too.

--------------------

Thanks for all of the help on the paypal limit thing. I think I successfully lifted the withdraw limit - yay!

Dancing with the Stars Update tonight.

Oh, my pick to go home this week is Shannon Elizabeth. I think she's run her course on this show - it's time for her to leave.

Back To Work

Another weekend gone...

It was a good one though. Friday I didn't do much of anything. Saturday night I went to the meeting and then Doug aka Drama Queen had a big cookout at his house and invited everyone over.

So, for the first time since we broke up, I went over to his house and surprisingly enough, I was very comfortable. 3 of my girlfriends came over too, so as soon as I walked in the door, I plopped down at the kitchen table and pulled out a deck of cards and started playing spades. My partner, A.J. and I had never played together, but we wiped the floor with our competition. In fact, I stayed over Drama Queen's house until 4 in the morning and never once got up from the table except to put ketchup on my burger. Good times!!!!

Spades Crew...

They had quite a spread, Drama Queen grilled chicken and burgers and bratwurst and he made pasta salad. Yummmmmm.

The people that weren't playing cards, were in the living room playing Rock Band. That game is all the rage. Have any of you guys bought it for your kids or even for yourselves? Everytime I go to someone's house, they pull out the Rock Band Game. I never play though because I'm always in the other room running spades. I come from the old school of spades playing - no nils, no passing and if you get 10 bags you go back 100.

So, on Sunday I went to the mall and bought like 3 outfits from Express. I love that place. I also bought some cute new shoes from Macy's - how adorable are they...

All in all, it was a decent weekend.

Some of the guys that work at my company are putting together a softball team and it's mandatory that they have 5 girls playing. They asked me to play and I explained that I don't really play sports, I'm a girly girl, I would suck, I'd be pissed if I broke a nail and anyone else in the world would be better than me. They didn't care. They still want me to play. So, I guess I'm playing softball. I figure - why not? It might be fun right? I mean, yes, I'll miss my Friday night meetings, but I didn't get clean to just live in meetings. I got clean so that I could live life. Who knows - maybe I'll meet a new guy!!

Movie Premier

So, I went to the movie last night - it was a really good time. I enjoyed myself. Burt Reynolds was the star, but he wasn't at the premier. Shannon Elizabeth was there with her new boy toy Derek Hough, and they were looking pretty cozy! I definitely think they are an item. They walked the red carpet together and I got a few pictures.

I saw tons of pros...

Hoyt Corkins
Antonio Esfendiari
Todd Brunson
Mike Sexton

Just to name a few. We actually sat right behind Mike Sexton and it was really weird because I'm sitting there watching the movie and he comes on the big screen and then I look right in front of me and there he is munching away on popcorn. Pretty neat.

After the movie, I went up to the Playboy Club - it was the first time I had ever been there and then we went further upstairs to Moon - what an awesome place. The roof of Moon slides open so that you can see the stars and of course there's an awesome view from there. The Palms definitely knows how to do things right.

Moon...

---------------------

My parents are putting their house on the market like today or Monday, so let's all cross our fingers that the house sells fast and they can come out to Vegas and start their west coast lives!!!!

I have visions of us traveling up and down the west coast - I've never been to San Francisco or Seattle or even to the Grand Canyon. As soon as my mom is here - we are doing all that fun stuff! Can't wait!

Not to mention, my mom is giving me her car - I'm upgrading from a 2 door civic with manual transmission to a 4 door Accord and it's an automatic baby!

Good Day

So, yesterday was Secretary's Day and I didn't even realize it until I walked into work and there was a card on my desk with a visa gift card tucked inside! I was really surprised and happy.

Then, a few hours later I get this beautiful delivery from Edible Arrangements.

They even added chocolate covered strawberries to my basket because I'm such a chocolate addict. And they even bought us lunch yesterday! It was a really good day. I'm so lucky to have my job. They really take good care of us here.

------------

So, tonight I'm going to the movie premier of "Deal" starring Burt Reynolds and Shannon Elizabeth and Jennifer Tilly is in it too. It's over at the Palms - I love the Palms. I'm super excited. I think it's going to be a really good time - plus it's a poker movie, so how can it be bad????

The person that invited me is super sweet and good company, so it's going to be a good time for sure. And, as an extra added bonus - I am finally going to check out Moon in the Playboy Tower. I love the GhostBar, so I'm sure I'll love Moon too.

Movie description...

"Alex Stillman is a cocky, hotshot, card-playing senior at Yale University. Alex dreams of becoming a professional Texas Hold'em poker player but does not yet have the skill to master the table. Fortunately for him, a chance encounter introduces Alex to retired poker legend, Tommy Vinson. Tommy was at the top of his game twenty years ago but gave it all up in order to save his family. Upon meeting Alex, Tommy realizes he can regain his own self-confidence, pride and a poker championship title by turning Alex into his protege. The two pair up and master every tournament they enter. The winning streak and friendship between the two is eventually thwarted by the interference of a Las Vegas call girl, Michelle. The pair eventually part ways and separately prepare for the World Poker Tour. Only one will take home the championship title. "

I think the movie is in theaters on Friday - and that's tomorrow! This week is flying by!

Dancing with the Stars Week 6

Jason Taylor and Edyta started things off Monday night with a very sexy cha cha cha. It was fun, Jason had great hip action and of course great lines like always, but I will say this - he needs to step it up in the coming weeks if he wants to stay on the show. I'm starting to get a little bored with him because all of his dances are starting to look the same. He came out strong and I haven't seen a lot of improvement. He's still good - but the others are starting to pass him.

Shannon and Derek did a very romantic rumba. I noticed some problems with the routine - first off, you aren't supposed to do any hip action in the rumba, it's supposed to be slow and sexy. Shannon used her hips. They have GREAT chemistry though and I could feel the seduction coming from them - probably because they are actually dating in real life!

Marlee and Fabian butchered the mambo. It's too bad because Fabian is the like the mambo champion. I think Marlee has definitely gone as far as she can in this competition, she's amazing for going out there and accomplishing these very difficult routines without any hearing. The routine was very awkward, and they weren't in sync. I will say that Marlee looked smokin hot in her mambo outfit - she's got a great body!

Cristian and Cheryl did the foxtrot and it was FANTASTIC! Wow - he looked great out there. This routine really suited him well. He was very fluid, the dance was fun and it flowed so smoothly. Great dance!

Watch it here...

Marissa and Tony did the viennese waltz and it was GREAT! It was a very romantic routine, Marissa looked really nice in her beautiful white flowy outfit, she did sone amazing turns and I can see so much improvement in her since the first week. It's obvious that her confidence and her technique are growing by leaps and bounds.

View it right now...

Kristi and Mark did the jive and they got a perfect 30! My favorite dance to watch is the jive. I love that you can get so creative with this dance and they totally knocked this one out of the ball park - it was EXCELLENT! The timing was perfect, technique was perfect and it was SO FUN!

And here it is...

Last but not least were Mario and Karina. They did a rumba and it was super sexy - they looked like they belong in a bedroom. They have this amazing chemistry, he works those hips like nobody's business - he even unbuttoned his shirt for this dance. Smoking hot routine.

Sexy dance here...

And my prediction was spot on - Marlee was sent packing.

Mario and Karina were also in the bottom two - that was a tad bit surprising.

Happy Secretary's Day to everyone!!!!

Dilemma

So, Dancing with the Stars was on last night. I didn't watch it yet, I like to watch it on Tuesday nights. However, I heard that Kristi got the first perfect score of the season. Go Kristi. My pick to go home tonight is going to Marlee or Cristian. I think Marlee should go home, but she hasn't been in the bottom two ever, so I dunno.

-------------------------

I haven't been to a meeting since Friday. I've been in a funk lately and even though the people in the meetings are my friends, sometimes I feel like they are super nosey and I wish they would mind their business sometimes. This happens to me every couple of months. I make tons of friends and I go to a lot of meetings and then I decide to maybe take a few days off and I throw myself into important stuff like watching T.V. And then, I get these messages from people that say "I'm worried about you" or "are you okay?" and then I get annoyed that they won't leave me the hell alone. I should be happy that people care and I am for the most part, but a part of me wants to be like "mind your own business" or "worry about your own recovery".

Anyway, like everything, it's just a phase and it'll pass.

---------------------

So, I have a dilemma...

June 6 - 8 is when the Bloggers come to town and June 6 - 8 is the Utah Convention that I was planning on going to with my sponsor and a bunch of my girlfriends. This is the first convention Utah has ever had so it should be a good time.

What to do what to do?

I really don't want to miss the Summer WPBT - they are always a blast.

Let me see a show of hands - who is plannning on coming to Vegas for the blogger gathering in June?

Shannon = Cougar

The latest couple to hook up on Dancing With The Stars...

Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough - I had a feeling after watching them last week that something was up and now People Magazine has confirmed my suspicions.

I think he's like 22 and she's like 30 - so that makes Shannon a Cougar!! Good for you girl.

Already?

Another Monday already?! UGH!

Well, the weekend flew by like always. Friday night after the meeting I suggested we try a new place to eat. So, we went to Joe's Crab Shack and I was pleasantly surprised. I had crab stuffed shrimp. It was decent. They had nice plump Maryland Style crabcakes on the menu - I'll definitely try those next time. It's so hard to find decent crabs or crabcakes outside of Maryland.

Saturday I went to the grocery store - good times - I was pleased with myself for only spending $75.00 and then I went to my boss's house at night to get my grub on and play some poker. I literally didn't eat all day and just waited until I got to her house and then I basically ate everything in sight. They put out a nice spread!

Sunday I just relaxed. I literally watched 6 episodes of Days of Our Lives, so now I'm caught up on that. The roomie and I watched Shooter with Mark Wahlberg - wasn't a bad movie - I love anything that has Mark Wahlberg in it, and I also watched a few episodes of CSI and Lockup. Typical Sunday.

Insanity

Have any of you been following this crazy story?????

It's pure insanity!

Paypal Question

It's Friday!!!!!

Plans for this weekend include a Poker Party at my boss's house on Saturday night - I'm so looking forward to it. I haven't played in a home game in a really long time. Not to mention, I love eating at other people's houses since I don't cook. It'll be nice to have some home cooked grub!

Guin/Mungo is in town with some of his friends - I hope to hook up with them for some fun on the strip.

It's also payday and I worked 7 hours of overtime in the past week or two - so I'm pretty psyched about that.

---------

I'm sure most of you know by now, but it's supposedly confirmed that Brandi Hawbaker committed suicide on Sunday. It's very sad news. I can relate to her misery on so many levels and I wish she could have found a better way. She was a very young girl, she liked to play poker, and she had her whole life ahead of her. My thoughts are with her family right now.

-----------

The Office has been great the past two weeks. I'm so happy that it's back on T.V. I'm ready for Entourage and Big Love to make their way back too. Does anyone know when either of those shows are coming back?

Also, does anyone know how to lift the Paypal monthly limit that you can withdraw to your bank account? Mine only allows me $500.00 per month and I have a bunch of money sitting in there that I'd like to withdraw.

Well, I hope everyone has a good weekend. Does anyone have anything exciting that they are doing??

More Pics

I'm playing in the Riverchasers Tourney right now - Limit Holdem? Crazy! I think I'm gonna be here for a while!

Pictures from last night...

The four of us at Rao's

Me and Aunt Marie...

Deb and Vic...

Raos - Yummy

Last night I went to Rao's at Cesar's Palace with my cousins and my aunt. It was good times! The food was very good and the atmosphere was cute and cozy. I would eat there again, but it was a tad bit pricey.

They are leaving tomorrow - so last night was the last night was the last time I'll see them for a while.

After dinner, we all gambled for a bit and I sat down in front of this progressive jackpot party machine and I ended up getting up to the third bonus level thing, so I won like $250.00. Awesome! I definitely wasn't expecting to win.

The Office was so funny last week - I cannot WAIT to watch it tonight. Also - I think I'm playing in Riverchasers tonight - hope to see you all there!

Dancing With The Stars Week 6

Okay, for some reason I am unable to pull up the pictures on the ABC/Dancing with the Stars homepage, so I'm just going to do my review a little differently this week.

Mario and Karina came out first and they did the samba - it was very good - he has the best hip action ever. He needs to give some of his hip rythm to Shannon Elizabeth and Marlee. Anyway, it was a very simple and clean routine and I liked it.

Here it is...

Next out was Priscilla Presley and her partner Louie - they did a very boring rumba. It was a snooze fest. I'm assuming it was supposed to be sexy, but she's old enough to be his great grandmother, it was just slow and lame and she look scared quite frankly. It didn't flow very well and it was awkward.

Marissa and Tony came out next and they did a fantastic samba. I was really really impressed - I loved the music - she had so much fun with it and it was definitely her best dance this season so far.

And here it is...

Sexy Christian was up next with his partner Cheryl Burke and they did a rumba - I liked it a lot! I think they work really well together, the chemistry is good - it was a very sensual dance and I was definitely feeling some passion. I like these two.

Marlee and Fabian came out next with a very awkward Samba. Poor thing - she totally lost the beat and she's deaf, so she had a hard time keeping with the music. I mean, she did a hell of a job if you factor in the part about her not being able to hear. She needs to let loose more with the hips too - they were very stiff.

Kristi and Mark came out next with a truly awesome and sexy rumba. She's awesome. I love watching her - she's the favorite for sure - she's just fantastic and for the age difference, I think they have great chemistry.

And here it is...

Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough came out next with their samba - it was just okay. I mean, I love the samba - but it's a hard dance and if you can't move your hips well, it's going to look bad. This one was awkward. She should spend a few sessions with Mario and his hips.

Last but certainly not least was Jason Taylor and Edyta "The Body" - good lord - they are a hot couple. I know I know - I say that every week - they did the sexy rumba dance and it was great and he's so amazing to watch and I love these two. I think they will be in the finals for sure.

Last Dance of the Night...

And, Priscilla was sent packing. It was her time. Marlee will probably be next week.

Tuesday Stuff

This weekend was good! There was only 5 of us total at my sponsor's house on Saturday - so the meeting was very laid back, I ate a ton of food and we were still over there for 4 hours.

My aunt and my cousin came into town on Sunday, so I met them over at the Flamingo. It was good times. We walked to the Monte Carlo and had dinner at Diablo Cantina. I liked it so much last Sunday, that we went there again!!

This is me and my cousin Deb. She's one month younger than me.

Aunt Marie and Deb...

Anyway - I had a great time with the family - they are here for a few more days so my posting might be a little light this week as I hang with them.

Has anyone played that damn Monopoly Slot Machine? They make you feel like you are winning a million dollars on that thing when you win ten cents - it's crazyness and a little addictive...

I do believe Grubby turned me onto this machine a while back - thanks Grub!

The family that gambles together - stays together...

I can officially say I've been to the Flamingo now. That was one I hadn't been to yet. They have a nice pool - I'm going to check it out very soon.

Dancing with the Stars update tonight though!!

It's Friday Bitches!

Well - I don't know if I can top yesterday's post - I got the most comments that I've ever received - thanks to Laura.

Laura - a real women would show her face. It's really easy to sit behind a monitor and judge me anonymously. Obviously you have a lot of hatred - but if you were happy with yourself you wouldn't be so evil. If you don't like my site, don't come here. There are a million other blogs out there. Why come to mine and spew such venom? Get a life.

------------

In other news - It's Friday!!! I'm pretty happy about that.

I have a pretty action packed weekend in store. Tomorrow we are all going to my sponsor's house - we do the girl thing once a month and we all bring a dish. I always always always bring like a fruit platter or a veggie tray that I buy from the store because that's how I roll. I'm too lazy to cook anything and it probably wouldn't taste good anyway. So, we eat, gossip and then we have a meeting - but this month she's starting something different.

Check this out...

We have to talk about our childhood from ages 0 - 10 years. I don't even remember that far back. I'm thinking this meeting might get pretty intense because a few of the girls have been molested - not me thank god. But, like, this might really bring up a lot of emotions. My story will be something like "I played with Barbies a lot, My parents gave me everything I wanted, they loved me a TON, I had friends and family and a house, and a bike and I did well in school and that's about it". Pretty boring. I remember getting caught stealing from my dad's change jar - but I think I was like 12 years old maybe - so that'll come next month when we do 11 - 20 years old.

Sunday my cousin and my aunt are coming into town - we are going to meet up at the Flamingo and walk to Planet Hollywood and have dinner probably at P.F. Changs - I'm totally looking forward to it.

I FELL ASLEEP early last night and DIDN'T have a chance to watch The Office - I bet it was awesome. I can 't wait to watch it this weekend!!!!

Here we go...

So, I open up myspace this morning and am greeted with this e-mail...

"hi . i want to be cool with u but i kinda think u dont want to be nice with me. i would like to ask u if u would please take all the pictures of u and tim off ur page please. its not something im comfortable with. and please dont take offence to this. im just tryin to do wat i gota do to let all this pass. i know ur not comfortable around me and thats fine. im fine with u. but i am not fine with u havin pics of him and u on ur page. please understand that im coming to u as an adult and im not at all trying to be mean. I know u will understand. Thank you carmen. hope i didnt upset u. "

This comes from a girl named Autumn. I think she's around 18 or 20. She acts like she's about 15. She's a girl that I know unfortunately from N.A. She's super immature, she is going out with that loser Tim that I was hanging out with about a month ago and as you can see, she wants me to take some pictures down.

I'm thinking "go to hell". The pictures are in my Dopes on Slopes file - he was a part of the trip, why should I take them down? A tiny part of me is thinking maybe I should take them down just so she'll leave me alone - but a much bigger part of me is thinking of saying something like "here's an idea - don't visit my page anymore and then you'll never have to see those pictures again - oh and by the way - grow up".

Any input gang?

Keep in mind, I see her about 3 times a week at meetings.

In Mourning

There will be no Dancing with the Stars update this week because I'm in mourning. My boy, Adam Corolla was kicked off.

Most likely due to this travesty...

Yes, it sucked ass - and Adam's forte' is not dancing and it was probably time for him to go, but I'm a little sad, so I'm not doing an update.

Don't you guys worry your pretty little heads though - I'll be back at it next week for sure and my picks to go all the way are Jason Taylor and yes, of course Kristi because she is very very good. But, Adam has a good point. If it was to come down to Kristi and Jason in the finals, I think America would choose Jason because he does not dance for a living. Kristi used to dance on ice, she's used to the little outfits, working with a choreographer and all that stuff. I think America likes to see an underdog win and that would be the 6 foot 5 football player who has probably never danced in front of a crowd ever in his life.

Anyway, enough about that.

I heard some crazy story this morning about a bunch of cheerleaders in high school harassing a girl, beating her up a few times and kidnapping her. They are all in jail right now. They even had 2 boys standby as lookouts. Most of them are under age, but they might be tried as adults. It all started because they were talking smack about each other on myspace. Good lord - I am so glad they didn't have myspace when I was in high school.

I had some tough times back in those days. I was a cheerleader too, I was pretty well liked for a while, I had a lot of friends, but I was really mean other people and eventually it caught up with me. Remember slam books? Anyone Anyone? That was our version of myspace. And luckily, it wasn't all over the internet for everyone to see. I can remember sitting down with a friend when the yearbook came out and writing all over people's faces with nasty comments like "geek, loser, gross, snotty" and all of those really mature expletives. I used to call people names, start nasty rumors, and just be downright mean to people. I don't recall ever getting a band of girls together and some guys to "lookout" for us and kidnapping anyone though - thankfully! They are getting really angry these days.

The cop in his press interview said that the girls showed no remorse and one of them even asked "will I be out in time for cheerleading practice tomorrow?" ha ha No concept of what's in store for them.

It's time for me to eat my leftover nachos for breafast - breakfast of champions!

Few more hours to vote!

Last week I talked about this guy that goes to my meetings and he has twin babies - they are so cute. So, last week I went over to Sari's house while she was watching them and I hung out for a while...

Their names are Gabriella and Aiden.

It was fun! Of course, I didn't change any diapers or anything ridiculous like that. I just took pictures of them, made faces at them, picked them up and held them. Easy Stuff.

Bath Time!!

Speaking of babies - this is pretty insane...

"AP - A 14-year-old girl gave birth to a full-term baby in a school bathroom and then tried to flush it down the toilet, killing the infant, police in Texas said.

The incident at Cedar Bayou Junior High in Baytown, Texas came just three days after another 14-year-old girl delivered a stillborn foetus in the toilet of an aeroplane on her way back to Houston from a school field trip.

The Harris County District Attorney's office decided not to pursue charges against the girl on the plane, who disposed of the foetus in a rubbish bin.

The students and their chaperones were returning from New York aboard a March 30 Continental Airlines flight."

Wow - is raising a kid that scary? Is telling your parents that your pregnant that scary?

Anyhooooo - here's a picture of my haircut - this is how it looks right out of the salon door, when the girl uses a big round brush to straighten it, yet gives it that little flip curl thing at the bottom...

I like it when she does it, but it won't look like this again for the next 3 months until I go back to her because I don't even have a round brush like that and I don't have the patience to sit there and do it like her. Naturally, my hair is curly, so I usually embrace that and let it air dry.

OK - this is how my life works. I walk into the poker room on Sunday at the MGM and there is a short waiting list. So, I stand at the front of the room while I'm waiting and I look around. I see this guy at this table and he's sort of weird looking, he's talking smack, I think I heard him say something about being on TV in a big tournament and I decide that no matter what I don't want to be at that table. I don't want to sit near him, he's going to get on my nerves and I don't like the way he looks.

This is the guy...

As I'm thinking this, they call my name and I go to a different table. 15 minutes later he asks for a table change and ends up at my table. Not just at my table - but he sits directly across from me. Jesus! Figures! So, ends up that yeah, he's a little obnoxious, but he breaks up the monotony of my table, him and I have way more in common than I would choose to admit and we chit chat for the whole 3 hours I'm there. He makes me laugh for a good portion of the time.

It's just funny how I immediately pass judgement on people and then they end up being like pretty cool or they somehow have an impact on my life.

You still have a few hours to vote for Adam Corolla on the Dancing with the Stars website! Make sure you do it!

Best Weekend in a While

I had a great weekend - best in a while. Seriously - I loved it.

Highlights include:

Hooking up with my friend John that I used to work with at Debtscape in Maryland. John and I dated briefly and then he broke my heart and moved on to my roommate. Um yeah - I was pissed at the time, but it was such a partying, drug and alcohol, nightclub and limo party scene, that I got over it quickly and we all moved on to the next person.

So, years later he finds me on myspace as a lot of people from my past have done and when he said he was coming out to Vegas I was more than happy to go do the "touristy" thing, met him at O'Shea's of all places, played a little roulette, blackjack, video poker and he even apologized for the shitty hooking up with my roommate thing.

Me and John...

John and Mike...

Funny thing about Mike. I had never met him before and he just moved out here to Vegas a few weeks ago to check this out - he moved here for work - as a CSI! Hello - CSI Las Vegas is like my favorite show ever! At first I almost walked out the door cause I was like "oh yuck - your a cop", but he was like "no, I'm not a cop" and I'm like "well, you carry a gun right?" and he was like "well, yeah" and then I was kind of excited about the whole gun thing, so, I forgot all about the cop thing.

Anyway, Mike lived in Maryland, and I lived in Maryland. Mike then moved to Florida and I also moved to Florida, Mike then moves out to Vegas, and as you know, I live in Vegas and Mike lives two streets over from me, and he likes to play poker. Wow - that's a lot of paths crossing right? Small world? I dunno - I got his number, we might go play poker sometime. Girls - what do you think? Is he cute? Should I pursue it?

Onto Saturday...

Saturday was girly day - I got my hair done, I got my nails done, I had a pedicure, I went tanning - damn it's a bitch being a girl. So much needless money is spent into making myself presentable!

I also went to my Saturday night meeting, went to the Red Robin afterwards and then played some online poker when I got home.

Sunday Drewspop was in town! I headed to the strip early, played a little 1-2 NL at the MGM and then walked across the bridge to Diablo Cantina for a really delicious mexican feast - THANKS CHRIS!!!!!!!!

Me and Drewspop

Chris, Me, The roommate, and the friend...

Sidenote - Chris's friend is a cop too - UGH! Cops Cops everywhere. (just kidding) - he was hella cool!

Unfortunately, these pictures all came out somewhat blurry - I must have had the camera on a weird setting or something.

We had a great time though. Great weekend!!!!! I wish they were all this good. Next weekend will rock too because my cousin Deb, her husband Vic and My aunt marie will be here. They like to eat and gamble, and I enjoy both of those things too. Woo hoo!

My Anniversary

Well peeps - today is April 4th. Today is 2 YEARS that I've had this blog!!!!!!!!!!

Yay me!

I wanted to do something really fancy in honor of my big anniversary. I wanted to post lots of pictures, tell lots of cute stories, send care packages to all of my readers to thank you guys immensely fron the bottom of my heart for sticking around to read my trivial complaints, my stories of woe from the past and present, my lame ass dating details etc.

I thought about changing the layout of this blog and using a new template, which I still might do - but that's definitely a weekend project. Especially since I have lots of ads and links to copy over.

So, I thought about it all week and what ended up happening was that I had to work overtime yesterday. I was so slammed at work, that I was here for like 11 hours yesterday and then I had to come in an hour early today. I was like "FUCK!!!!" Of all nights to have to work over time, but here's the thing....

2 years ago I had no job.

2 years ago I had just moved to Las Vegas with Don, we didn't know anyone, I had no friends and he was doing very well financially so I didn't have to work.

2 years ago I was bored out of my mind.

2 years ago I started this blog because I liked poker and Don said "hey - I found these cool poker blogs, people write about poker, and you like to play poker, you should start a blog". I was like "um, what the hell is a blog, what can I really write about poker, who the fuck would read my complaints about how much I suck at poker anyway and why waste the time?"

But, I was intrigued.

So, I think he gave me like a Pauly link to start off with. I remember my excitement when I found Katitude's blog. She was a chick playing poker, she seemed hella cool and she wrote back to me when I left her comments. She was nice. I kind of loooked up to her. I wanted to know how to get a blog like hers that people read.

And then I played in my first blogger tourney - the mookie. I was so excited. I saw some familiar names because now I was reading blogs on a daily basis. People like Mookie, Katitude, Jules, Waffles, Pauly, Iggy and Grubby - they were like celebrities to me!

And then they sent me an invite to the girly chat! Holla! I was in!!!!!!! It was so fun. I hooked up a microphone and I heard Waffles' girly voice for the first time and I looked at Don like "is that how he really talks? are you kidding me? He sounds like a girl!!!!!"

But he talked lots of shit and I loved that.

He quickly became one of my best friends.

And then the bloggers came to town. And we all hung out and lost of tomfoolery was had. And I stayed sober that first year and it was good times and I remember everything and I took lots of pictures and I was in love with the whole blogger/poker thing.

And then, I started drinking again.

And then the drugs came again.

And then I moved out.

But I still kept the blog somehow. I'd get drunk late at night and sit in my place and play online in a daze and not really remember much the next day. I'd do blog posts in a blackout and not even know how they got there.

And then I lost my job at the MGM.

And then things got really bad.

And then the bloggers came to town again. It was the Winter WPBT and I was a wreck. There are pictures to prove it.

But then, things got better again. And you guys stuck around. You still read my blog, you gave me encouragement, you held my hand while I walked through my demons and you still do! And I love you guys! And I love this blog.

And Craig recruited me to write during the World Series of Poker for Pokerworks.com and it was the most coolest experience ever. And Linda kept me on and I got to follow a dream that I never even knew I had.

And then I got to do Pool Reviews for Pauly at Lasvegasvegas.com - my favorite gig ever. What a treat to write about something other than poker for a few months.

This blog is the one thing that has remained consistent in my life. I've started lots of projects, I've failed at lots of things, I've given on up on things that I've started, but I hope to never give up on this blog. It keeps me sane. I look forward to the comments and feedback you guys give and I love to read your blogs.

And yes, I've branched out. There is a whole slew of non-poker related blogs that I read on a daily basis and you guys rock too. Hi Cynical Bastard - what's up RockDog - and Diva is from my hometown - B'More!!

The more the merrier right?

So, Happy 2 Years to Me and here's to many many more.
