Poker Slam

There are a few hidden benefits I've been lucky enough to receive during my time as a blogger. Of course the ad revenue is AWESOME and was a very unexpected bene that I never even thought of when I started the blog - BUT my next favorite thing is when people ask me to test their products and give an honest review. I love free stuff and I will be brutally honest when telling my readers what I've thought of the products - no fibbing here.

Author Neal Gersony sent me his new book "Poker Slam" and I'd love to share with you my thoughts...

I love reading and I especially love stories. When I first started playing poker, like a lot of poker players I bought some books to try to improve my game. The thing that I realized was that I hate strategy books. I'm not a fan of "learning". ha ha It reminded me of being back in school and whenever I started to read I'd fall asleep - boring!!!!!

Luckily, Neal's book tells a story and a very interesting one at that! The layout and structure of the book is unexpected, the book held my interest, and I read it every night before I went to bed. It's a quick and easy read and it really stirred up some emotions for me. I would suggest this novel to anyone who enjoys reading. I wouldn't limit it just poker players either.

A true test of a book for me, is if I think about it during the day while at work or just driving home. And - I have to tell you that I did think about it during the day. I actually went to bed early a few nights just so that I could lay in bed with my book :)

So, head over to Barnes and Nobel to buy it online or head to store and purchase one this weekend. It's a great stocking stuffer and quite the bargain at $15.25.

They even offer it in audio form at the ITunes Store for those of you who don't like reading. I've never listened to a book on CD, but I imagine it would be great if you have a long commute or whatever. I sometimes try to read magazines when I'm sitting in traffic but as you can imagine that doesn't work out too well. I usually get a chorus of honking behind me as I hold up traffic.

Thank you Neal for sending me Poker Slam. You are a very talented author.

Head over to Neal's website to see what else Neal is up to.

4 Day Weekend Ahead

Well, I'm feeling pretty good today. It's probably because I'm looking forward to a long 4 day weekend and we are even getting paid two days early since the company is shut down for the next four days. Can you believe we don't have direct deposit here? It's insane right? I've never worked for a place that didn't have direct deposit, but whatever. No big deal.

So, last night at bowling my team invited me and my parents to come over to their house for Thanksgiving. I love my team - they are really funny and cool and they are putting on a really big spread tomorrow. So, why shouldn't we go over? It would be nice to have a home cooked meal and be around friends, plus I think my parents would get along really well with the team and it would be nice for them to meet some new people. So, I'm going to pitch the idea to them today. I think I'd rather go to their house instead of spending the day at a casino and losing all my money - ya know?

And then, my friend Danny and a bunch of his friends got a table at the Bank Thursday night at the Bellagio. Has anyone ever been there? It's supposed to be a really nice restaurant/club and of course the Bellagio does everything over the top and we have a table that means we don't wait in line and we don't have to stand up and deal with a crowd. I love that. I don't go to clubs much anymore and I definitely don't go if I have to wait in line. But, since it's a four day weekend I think I might just have to venture out and do something different.

So, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone - I hope you eat to your heart's content...

Still Pissed

Well, I guess it's time to do a new blog post, I'm sure everyone is sick and tired of looking at the last post. I'm sorry to admit that I haven't gotten over the Hilary thing. I'm still fuming. I'm still pissed. I saw her at a meeting Saturday night and I just glared at her. If looks could kill that bitch would be dead. Sunday I was sitting at home still pissed off and I decided to send her a text. I wrote "when can I expect reimbursement for the cost of the registration and the banquet". She calls me back and says that she had to pay $70 out of her pocket for the hotel since she cancelled at the last minute and that we are even. Oh hell no! We are nowhere close to even because I didn't fucking cancel. That stupid bitch cancelled - she should have to pay EVERYTHING. Oh my god. The more I talk about the more pissed off I get. We got into a war of words over the phone and lets just say that I felt like I was back in high school. I'm not proud of my behavior or the immature slurs I threw her way, but damn I'm pissed. I don't know how I'm supposed to get over this.

To make matters worse, we have the same sponsor. We go to her house once a month and we share very intimate details of our life. In like two weeks are going over there for a holiday celebration. We are each supposed to bring a gift and of course some sort of dish and it's supposed to be a time of cheer and goodwill. I'm sure I'll turn it into a time of uncomfortability and unhappiness if I don't change my attitude.

I'm VERY close to finding a new sponsor which is ridiculous. I love my sponsor. We also share the same home group which means I have to see her ugly overly botoxed mug every single Saturday night. Yuck.

I need to get over it.

I'm so immature too - I realize that my behavior is a little over the top. I've been slamming her all over myspace and facebook. She doesn't even know how to use the computer so it's not like she's even seeing the stuff I'm writing. I just do it for fun.

I know I'll probably regret my actions somewhere in the future. I couldn't understand why so many people stayed away from her and why people were surprised that I was friends with her and now I know why.

Anyway, moving on...

Roommate left yesteray for Florida. He's gone for ten days and I have the house and Lucy all to myself. She slept with me last night and she must have been cold because she cuddled very close to me. I LOVE THAT! She's the best dog in the world.

Since I have to bowl tonight I either have to go home on my lunch break and take her for a walk or I have to rush home after work and before bowling to take her house. Either way I'll be gone for like 14 hours so something has to be done. Poor thing.

For the first time in many years I'll be spending Thanksgiving with my parents this year and instead of preparing a big crazy time consuming meal, we are going to the brand new Aliente Casino. I'm excited. I can't think of any better way to spend my Thanksgiving. I'm sure they are having something special they will be doing for locals and it's one of the only casinos in town that I've never been to. It's a win win situation.

Back to the grind...

Flaked Out

So, I bet you guys are wondering why I'm blogging on a Friday night when I'm supposed to be in Ontario, California for the weekend. Well, let me tell you...

I woke up today and ran a few errands and tried to call Hilary. She didn't answer and then we proceeded to play phone tag for about a good two hours when finally I got a hold of her. We were supposed to leave at noon. It was 11:50 a.m. and she tells me and I quote "I'm not going to be able to make it". I'm sorry?! WHAT THE FUCK? "You aren't going to be able to make it?" What the fuck is that shit? Now, I know I'm going to sound like a total inconsiderate bitch when I say this - but her story was that her mom was sick and she couldn't leave her. Um, well, here's the thing. Her mom is in a nursing home and she's been in the home ever since I lived here (about 3 years). She suffers from dementia and she is just very needy and she wants Hilary to be around all the time. Okay, that's fine. But, I had a weird feeling all week - call it intuition, but I know Hilary very well and when we are going on a trip or planning something fun, she'll talk about it all week. This week for some weird reason she wasn't even mentioning it and I was starting to wonder what her deal was. So, I guess when she finally decided not to go, I wasn't all that surprised. I don't believe her. I think she's using her mom as an excuse because she just wasn't in the mood to go. Plus, a mutual friend of ours told me that she was complaining about how low she is on funds, so I think she just didn't want to go because of money or something. Not to mention, she's super neurotic so who knows what's going on in that crazy fucked up head of hers. I don't need a "friend" like that in my life. Fuck her.

But - fucking christ - if she wanted to back out, she should have told me a few days in advance - not ten minutes before we were going to hit the road. I had already paid for the registration and the banquet. So, I'm out $100.00 not to mention I'm just really bummed out. I'm not afraid to admit I cried my eyes out.

This is the bad thing about N.A. people. You can't trust them half of the time and this isn't the first time someone has backed out of an event - so I'm done. I'm not ever planning anything with that bitch again and I might not even talk to her anymore.

I went through my whole phone for about an hour and called everyone I could think of to see if someone else might want to go, but of course, it was the VERY LAST MINUTE so nobody was able. I could have driven to Cali by myself, but how lame. I would have had the room to myself and it just wouldn't have been the same.

So, I called my favorite mom in the world and we made plans to go to the outlets tomorrow and have lunch. At least I'll be with someone I can count on and who never lets me down. Blood is so much thicker than water - ya know?

In case you were wondering which Hilary I'm talking about - this is her (she's on the right)...

2nd Place Finish

So, last night I planned on going home and just vegging out on the couch. After watching Celebrity Rehab from last week (this season is awesome by the way) - is anyone else loving it? I'm getting off track real quick - but I just love Steven Adler. Who would have known that he'd be such a cute little sweet boy? I mean, he's always in there hugging the techs and giving Dr. Drew massages and he's like supportive and caring and he's not at all what I would have expected from the drummer of Guns and Roses. You can tell that he's a sweet guy that just struggles with life and his past is so sad. One day he came home from school and he found his suitcases out on the lawn. His step dad made his mother choose between him or Steven and she chose the step dad.

Anyway, I digress.

So, I get home from work, watch Celebrity Rehab and I'm also in love with The Life of Kimora Lee Simmons - so I watched that and I decided at the last minute to log into the Mookie.

I should have been out in the first hour when on the flop, my set of 8's was beat by someone else's set of 10's. Luckily, I sucked out and managed to get quads which was a big score for me. Eventually, roommate says "hey - we are at the same table". I hadn't noticed because I was playing two other sit and go's and reading Celebrity Gossip websites. We remained at the same table the entire game until the very end when we played heads up. I basically got impatient and threw the game away. Dammit! I should have tried harder. But, anyway, Miami Don won the Mookie for like his 5th time or something ridiculous like that. I think it was my third time making the money. I listened to
Buddy Dank Radio for the entire game and it was a really good time! Joanne has a sexy radio voice!

Waffles stop being a pussy and book your effin ticket for the December. Jesus! Don't make me beg.

Anyway, today is my Friday because I'm heading to California tomorrow. I'll be in Ontario, CA. Is that anywhere near the fires? I guess I'll find out.

So fun!

Oh my god - I'm obsessed with this video and the guy portraying Beyonce in this video. It's almost like watching a car wreck. You want to turn away but you simply can't.

Well, let me back up.

I was perusing the internet a while back and I followed a link that took me to this video on You Tube...

This guy - Shane Mercado - has me mesmerized and apparently I'm not the only one. He's an over night internet sensation. His YouTube Video has gotten more than 1 million hits and he's still going strong. He was on the Bonnie Hunt Show yesterday and it's really cool how he does the dance right in front of the video...

Click Here to view his appearance. You know you want to!

Loves it!!!!

What do you guys think?

The Sexiest Man Alive?

I appreciate that People Magazine went out on a limb and chose someone different and unexpected for this year's Sexiest Man Alive - but, Hugh Jackman? Really? He's the sexiest man alive? I do not think so. Are pickings that slim? Although I think David Beckham is much hotter, I'm glad they didn't go with him because he's such an obvious choice.

What do you ladies think of The Sexiest Man for 2008?????

Other people that made the list this year...

Joshua Jackson - I love him! I fell in love with him on Dawson's Creek and he's looking even better this year on Fringe. I wouldn't complain a bit if he was number one!

Of course the aforementioned David Beckham...

David really is the hottest one on this list.

Daniel Craig - Mister James Bond...

He has a GREAT body and a so so face in my opinion.'

Robert Pattison from Twilight and Harry Potter...

UGH! Does anyone besides me NOT see the appeal in this guy? Girls are going CRAZY for him and I just don't see it.

Zac Efron - High School Musical - I definitely DO see the appeal in Zac - he's a hottie.

Mark my words - Zac Efron will DEFINITELY make number on the this list in the next few years. He's a little young right now, but the older he gets the better looking he is.

Blair Underwood from Dirty Sexy Money...

Blair is an oldie but a goodie. He's been around for a while and females have been swooning over him for years. He gets better with age too.

Michael Phelps - NOT!

Just because he won a bunch of gold medals - that doesn't make him hot. He's not hot - not at all. I cannot even believe he made this list.

For the complete list, run out to your favorite grocery store this week and pick up your own copy of People. I probably will :)

Opey Arrives!

Here are a few cute pictures of my mom's new puppy - Opey. He was super scared today and I guess he threw up in the car - poor baby. He's never been away from his mommy and he's probably never been in a car.

My mom probably has her work cut out for her with the sleeping through the night, potty training and what not. It'll be a fun adventure though - check him out...

This is what he'll probably look like when he's full grown...

Loves him!

Not very uplifting

So, the meeting yesterday wasn't very uplifting. My boss explained that the situation with the economy is DIRE and there are no signs of it getting better anytime soon. Our profits are WAY down and although he isn't laying anyone off today, he will re-visit the idea in 3 weeks. So, my job is safe through Thanksgiving, but I may be getting more than one week off for Christmas. Fingers crossed that I get to keep my job. I love this job and I NEED this job. We are hurting out here in Vegas. The Venetian stocks are WAY down and they are one of our biggest clients. I think last year at this time the Venetian stocks were at $150.00 a share and today they are $6.00 a share. Isn't that crazy? It's not pretty. There are so many projects that have been started and are now being stopped mid air. They can't even finish half of the buildings because they can't spend any more money. I really hope things turn around.

So, I have off Friday this week and I'm going to California for the weekend with my friend Hilary. It should be a lot of fun. We are going to Ontario, CA - it's in the Southern part of Cali. Anyone ever been there? I won't be doing any site seeting. I'll probably be at the hotel the whole time because it's an N.A. Convention and they always plan a lot of things to keep us busy.

I'm going with the same Hilary that I went to the Laughlin convention with. She's very stuck in her ways and she's very neurotic. So, I have to really keep an open mind when I spend time with her and try to be patient because she has a tendency to drive me nuts. Last time I let her drive she got us totally lost before we even left Las Vegas. So, this time, I'm driving and I'll be map questing our route so that I can be in control and make sure we get there safely and soundly without getting lost.

Artie Lang is on Adam Corolla and wow - he's got some amazing stories. He has 4 months sober right now, but he's coming off a big heroine run. I thought he was just an alocholic and did some blow - but he's actually into way more stuff. Interesting. I think he just came out with a new book so I might have to get that.

So cute

So, yesterday my mom and I drove to Pahrump, Nevada. It's a small town about 56 miles away from Las Vegas and it's out in the sticks! We went to visit a woman that breeds Pomeranians and she had two adorable little boys that were ready to go. One was black and white and one was cream and white. We wanted to take both, but my dad put his foot down on this one and told my mom she could only get one. By the way, this is why I'm not married. Fuck that. Nobody is telling me what I can and cannot do. But anyway, we both fell absolutely in love with the black and white one. I think we are going to name him Opey. He's just a tiny little black ball of fur and he's so light - he just fits in the palm of your hand. I'll post some pictures in a few days. We couldn't take him home yesterday because we had a full day of stuff planned and my mom wasn't ready for him yet because she didn't buy any dog supplies. But, we went to Petsmart afterwards and we bought everything and the woman is delivering him on Tuesday. Very exciting!

My mom is still pretty devastated over the loss of her last one, but I know that the new one will make her VERY happy!!

Friday night I went to sushi with the girls. It was fun. I'm not super advenurous when it comes to sushi. I'll eat some yellowfin and like crab and shrimp, but I'm not doing much else in the way of raw fish from the sea. It scares me. I'm not a fan of avocado either and they throw avocado onto EVERYTHING. annoying!

I'm scared today. We are having a company meeting to discuss the economy today and our reviews start next week. Good times.

Diablo strikes again

I just got home from my favorite haunt - Diablo Cantina.

I met up with Terri and her family - it was a really good time. They were so friendly and fun and easygoing. I'm so glad I got to meet everyone.

Of course, I got the steak tacos again. I get the same dish everytime I go there because I totally love it. Why mess with a good thing right? They put us upstairs tonight which was different. I had never been up there before and it was pretty cool! It was a little bit quieter and we had a great view of the strip.

Any other bloggers coming to Sin City any time soon?

Terri and I...

The whole gang...

I can't emphasize enough how much I love living in Vegas and meeting up with new people - it's so awesome.

Funny little story - a little embarrassing but oh well. So, I'm on my way to the mexican joint and I feel my bra suddenly get very loose. It was a nice expensive victoria secret bra and I usually love them! I take my hand and feel the middle and realize that the damn thing broke! It totally snapped. I had no time to go home because I was leaving straight from work and I had no other choice than to take the damn thing off - I was free boobing!!!!! Good freakin times.

And yay - tomorrow is Friday and it's payday - the only thing that would make it better is if I had off on Monday. Well, I won't get greedy.

Tomorrow night I'm going out with the girls for sushi so that should be fun and then on Saturday we are celebrating my friend David's birthday and then Sunday I'm going to the outlets with my mom. Should be good times!

Right now I'm playing a few sit and go's on FT and on Stars - wish a sista luck!

Fat Bottom Girl Thursday

Well, I didn't exactly do my best in the Mookie last night, but I did win a few other sit and go's on full tilt and pokerstars, so I'd say it was a productive night.

I am totally out of ideas today. I'm excited to be heading to my favorite mexican restaurant on the strip today to meet blogger Terri from "This is how it rolls". She's a fan of poker even though she's not a poker blogger so we might even get a little Texas Hold Em action in.

So, to brighten up an otherwise lame Thursday I thought I'd share with you a fun list that put together. Guys - you can thank me later.

This is the Top Ten Sexiest Bottoms

10. Paz Vegas - although I've never heard of her, she does have a very nice tooshy. Apparently she was in Spanglish and she's an actress from Spain.

9. Beyonce - no introduction needed - we all know the phenomenon known as Beyonce.

8. Jennifer Lopez - another style icon with lots of ample curves.

7. Angel Melaku - never heard of her. Apparently she's an Ethiopian model and she was recently named Video Vixen of the Year by BET.

6. Jessica Biel - I'm so over this chick. I can't believe she's still making top ten lists. Her and Justin need to go far far away.

5. Jennifer Aniston - I don't know why I am not over her. Maybe I feel sorry for her because of the whole Brad/Angelina thing. I still think she's a hottie and I'm happy she made the list!

4. Kim Kardashian - I think we all knew she'd be on this list - I kind of thought she'd be number one though.

3. Gisele Bundchen

2. Vida Guerra - Again - never heard of this chick, she's a lingerie model of course and she's from cuba - but good lord - baby's got back.

and the sexiest bottom according to belongs to

1. Sofia Vergara -

Oh yes! She has appeared in music videos for Kayne West’s "The New Workout Plan," "No Es Amor’s Obsession" and the Bad Boys 2 song "Shake Ya Tailfeather."

Sofia has appeared in music videos for Kayne West’s "The New Workout Plan," "No Es Amor’s Obsession" and the Bad Boys 2 song "Shake Ya Tailfeather." She is also a single mother and was born in Columbia.

So, ladies, if you could pick any bum on this list to have as your very own - whose would it be?

Men - which bottom on this list would you must like to have in your bed?

Personally, I would take any of them, but if I had to pick just one it would be Sofia - she really does have a nice booty. Paz is my second choice.

Happy Thursday!

I can't think of a title

I am so freakin tired this morning. Good god. I dunno why I'm having such a hard time keeping my eyes open. I slept really well last night, but unfortunately I'm exhausted. I can't even type this blog post because my hands appear to have a mind of their own this morning as my eyes continue so creep shut every few minutes.

I seruiously wish I still had some of those max alerts that I used to abuse. At least they would give me a little pep and energy so I could maybe function.

Speaking of pep and energy. A while back I went to GNC and bought some of those super expensive energy drinks that you drink before you go to the gym. They are called "Speed Shots" and they contain a whole bunch of crazy ingredients that speed up your metabolism and give you energy to workout longer etc. They arent' cheap. I bought a few of them, labeled them and put them in the fridge at work. I went to the freakin refrigerator the other day and wouldn't you know it? They are gone! I was pissed!!!!! I haven't had many problems with theft in this office until now. So annoying! What would possess someone to take a drink that is clearly labeled? I mean, obviously the person knew they didn't buy that drink - it's just so rude and disrespectful. That kind of shit drives me nuts.

Okay, anyway, we did well at bowling last night. It was fun - especially because we won two games. We weren't doing so hot for the last few weeks, so at least we picked it up this week. It's so much more fun when you win :)

Thanks for the San Fran comments and offers. I'll be e-mailing those of you who said I could.

Some of things I found online that I'm interested in doing are...

- Tour of the Wine country
- Tour of Alcatraz Island - I'm obsessed with those Locked up shows so I'm super excited to check out Alcatraz - especially since you get to take a boat there
- Union Square
- Chinatown (it's supposed to be a really big Chinatown and I love me some authentic chinese food.
- Fisherman's Wharf

and of course we have to see the Golden Gate Bridge - it's a must!

We are going the day after Christmas so it'll be nice to see all of the fancy christmas lights and decorations. I know it's not exactly warm in San Francisco so I'll definitely have to pack accordingly.

The possibilities are endless. I'm sure I won't be able to fit everything in to 4 days so most likely we'll take another trip to San Fran later down the road.

I don't know if I've mentioned how much I enjoy having my parents here. It was a little scary at first because I wasn't sure if they'd get on my nerves since we haven't lived in the same state for many years. I was worried that they'd get out here and hate it and that they'd miss the lush green grass back in Maryland. My dad has a thing for lawns and unfortunately, there isn't much grass or greenery here in Vegas. I guess a part of me was scared that they'd expect to see me like every day.

But, the good thing is that it hasn't been that way at all. They love it here, they especially love that it's November and they can still walk outside during the day without a coat and it's usually always sunny and there is always something to do. They've made a few friends already and they have a clubhouse in their neighborhood that they can walk to and they play cards there and they go to the gym everyday and all kinds of good stuff. I see them about once a week and that's perfect.

So, most of my worries and fears are gone. I am truly happy that they are here and they seem to love it here too.

My dad still misses his grass, but oh well - you can't have everything.

They called the moving company and they said the people were super nice and they are supposed to make a list of everything they are missing and I guess they will go from there. The one thing that makes me think maybe their stuff wasn't stolen was that my parents got a few boxes that wasn't there stuff. So, possibly the movers just mixed up the boxes and gave my parent's boxes to someone else. Hopefully the whole thing can be corrected. Who knows.

I have nothing important to say. Terri from This is how we Roll is in town and I just got a message from her. I'm thinking about breaking up the monotony of this lame work week and heading to the strip tonight to play some poker and have dinner at the always delicious Diablo Cantina! If it happens, I'll definitely take some pictures!

Maurice Green and Cheryl Burke were sent packing last night on Dancing with the Stars. They are just down to four now. Cody Linely, Brooke Burke, Warren Sapp and Lance Bass. I'm rooting for Lance or Brooke.

Happy Hump Day!

Tuesday Riff Raff

My mom and dad came over for dinner last night. It was fun. Her and I went online and found some GREAT deals for round trip airfare to San Francisco. Literally, we are only paying like $120.00 for a round trip ticket. Not bad huh? I am psyched! I thought we'd end up driving to San Diego or something, but instead, we decided to fly to Frisco the day after Christmas for about 4 days. I've never ever been there and this is so exciting to me. I love going to new places.

I'm hoping to find a really cool hotel on the bay and within close proximity to wherever the action is. I'll be doing some research in the next few days and if anyone wants to help me out - I'd love to hear your suggestions.

This is so fucked up - I hate to even write about it. My parents got their boxes finally and of course a bunch of shit is missing. I know firsthand how it feels to have your shit stolen from you.

Deep down, I figured it was karma coming back to bite me in the ass because of all the shit I've done to people in the past. But, my parents on the other hands definitely don't deserve this. They've never stolen anything from anyone and it just sucks to see them being taken advantage of. All of my mom's jewelry is missing and I think they also stole a bunch of my dad's expensive baseball cards and a lot of other football and baseball memorabilia that he had collected over the years. They are calling the moving company first thing today and hopefully it's just a big mix up, but I dunno. I guess I'll just cross my fingers for them.

It's Tuesday and that means I'll be bowling tonight. This winter league is VERY long. I knew it was going to be. We have off for like 3 weeks in December though so that'll be a nice break. December is going to be the best month ever. I'm going to have so much free time to just hangout and relax and do absolutely nothing! yay!

Bloggers - who's coming to Vegas in December for the big ass blogger shindig? Let me know!

Back to the grind...

My weekend was pretty laid back. I didn't spend a lot of money so that's a good thing. Saturday I met my mom over at the DMV so that she could sign the title of her car over to me and I could get it registered. Since the car was coming from another state, there were a couple of things I had to get done. I had to get a smog test and get a VIN number inspection. I did all of that and then I went back to the DMV with my line skip pass since I had already waited in line and I filled out the forms, paid my money and got my new tags. I ran through the burger king drive through, went home, laid on the couch and the DMV called my cell phone. Apparently they missed one signature on a form and they needed me to come back. UGH. So, I drove back over there and walked to the front of the line, signed the form and left. They were so thankful. The guy even had his manager come over and thank me. They were like "nobody ever comes up here as fast as you did when we call". I'm sure they don't. I didn't feel like going back up there either, but who's it going to hurt in the long run if my car isn't registered properly? Me. Not the DMV. So, whatever.

My parents were supposed to come over yesterday for dinner, but there stuff finally arrived. They shipped their cars to Nevad and they arrived weeks ago, but their boxes just finally got here yesterday. It took forever. So, they stayed home to wait for the boxes and to unpack. I spent the whole day on the couch and watched a very long marathon on TLC of my new favorite show. It's called Mystery Diagnosis and it's about people that have something wrong with them and it takes forever for the doctors to diagnose it properly. Crazy! Some of those people are in pain for years before they finally get a proper diagnosis.

So, next weekend I'm going to Southern California with my friend Hilary for the N.A. Convention. Should be so fun! I'm totally looking forward to it.

Since I have off almost two weeks for Christmas, my mom and I are thinking about taking a little trip. I'm going to start looking online for something to do. San Diego and L.A. are like a 3 hour trip from here. I'm also interested in visiting San Francisco and Seattle. My mom has never been to California at all and I've only been there once, so it'll be a new and fun experience for both of us.

Does anyone know of anything fun going on around Christmas time in Cali? Any festivals or fun shows or anything? Does anyone have a favorite hotel they stay or a restaurant they love? Thanks for the input!

Tribute to Blackwell

Yay - It's Friday!!!

The weekend couldn't come soon enough for me.

I don't have a lot going on, so I think I'll do a list today.

I never did a proper farewell to Mr. Blackwell. Known for his infamous "Worst Dressed" Lists every year, he will certainly be missed.

Last year stood out as one of the worst years for celebrity fashion gone wrong. Here are some pictures from Mr. Blackwell's site...

2007 - Blackwell's Worst Dressed List

11. Paris Hilton - I agree, last year she was a mess - this year - not so much. I would be surprised if she didn't end up on some Best Dressed Lists in 2008.

I don't mind the dress - but the pink tights look like they belong on Little Suri Cruise - not a grown woman.

10. Alison Arngrim - I've never heard of her - but this is Blackwell's description

"Little Nellie of the prairie looks like a 1940s fashion editor for the Farmers Almanac."

9. Lindsey Lohan - She looked horrible last year and she looks just as bad or maybe even worse this year. If I see this girl in one more pair of spandex or leggings, I might just stab my eyes out.

8. Jessica Simpson - This is truly a horrible picture of her and she really has a terrible fashion sense.

7. Avril Lavigne - One word "yuck" says it all.

Blackwell said "Gothic makeup courtesy the mad spatula. Fashions provided by … the House of Dracula!"

6. Eva Green

Blackwell said "Stuck in neon nightmares not fit for the sane. Fashion this loud could give Bond a migraine! A profusion of confusion from toes to nose!"

5. Kelly Clarkson - This outfit definitely isn't doing her any favors.

Blackwell said "Her heavenly voice soars above the rest … but those belly-baring bombs are hellish at best! She may be the queen of “Proactiv” -- but that wardrobe looks downright radioactive!"

4. Fergie - Ugh - I love Fergie. I hate to put her on this list, but sometimes her fashion choices are a bit over the top...

3. Mary Kate Olsen - Oh my god - I couldn't agree more. Why does this chick dress like such a bag lady? It drives me nuts!

2. Amy Winehouse - ummmm - yes, she belongs on this list, but I think she has bigger things than "fashion" to worry about at this time. I can't believe she's still alive to be quite honest.

and the worst dressed celebrity in 2007 is...

1. Victoria Beckham

Blackwell said "Forget the fashion spice -- wearing a skirt would suffice! In one skinny-mini monstrosity after another, pouty posh can really wreck 'em."

You will be missed Mr. Blackwell!

I don't know if I mentioned this, but my mom gave me her car. It's a Honda Accord, 4 door, automatic and in great condition. I love it!!

Yesterday while I was at work, my parents drove my car from their side of town all the way over to my house and gave roommate the keys. Then, a girl that I know was interested in buying my car, so her and her boyfriend came over and picked the car up and took it to a mechanic. I guess they found some stuff wrong with it so they decided not to buy it and I don't know why, but I sort of got pissed about it. I was practically giving the car away.

I looked it up in Kelly Blue Book and it was worth $2,900.00. I was selling it to her for $1,000.00 - Bargain right?

Anyway, I came home last night and put it on Craigslist around 9:30 p.m. for $2,000.00. I literally had 4 calls in the first ten minutes. People love Hondas and they really love cheap Hondas. A guy came over last night at 10 p.m. to test drive it. He wanted to buy it on the spot, but he only had a personal check and there was no way I was taking a check. I told him cash only. He said that his bank opens at 7:00 a.m. and that he'll be here this morning before I head off to work. He has 22 minutes because I'm leaving at 7:30. Anyway, I'm just feeling really confident about the car. Someone will definitely buy it for $2,000 even with the minor cosmetic and mechanical problems.

Now, I'm glad she didn't buy it. But, I can't help but still be a little annoyed with her. I told her exactly what was wrong with the car and her mechanic confirmed that I was 100 percent accurate. So, why even waste everyone's time if you know what's wrong with it and you aren't going to buy it? Her loss!

I kind of dropped the ball this season with Dancing with the Stars. I'm just not feeling it. I watched the first few episodes and now I just watch the clips on You Tube if I really get bored and I just follow the news stories. I'm glad Susan Lucci finally went home.

Guess what?! He showed up at 7:10 a.m. this morning with cash and my car is now SOLD!! Yay! I know he's going to turn around and sell it for more and make a profit, but I don't care. I'm just glad I got a little bit of dough. woo hoo!

Fingers Crossed

Well, I'm proud of myself for voting. It was my first time EVER and I actually got a little emotional. I don't know why. Maybe because I finally feel like a productive citizen for the first time in my life. I actually feel like I'm contributing to society or something. I dunno.

It's no secret that I voted Republican and obviously Obama won. I'm a tad bit disappointed, but I am totally going to keep an open mind and we'll just see what happens. I'm really just hoping that someone somehow someway will help our economy. I also wouldn't be upset if we got some more tax rebate checks in the process :)

So, my mom gave me her car. I'm loving it. It's a Honda Accord, it's black, it's an automatic and it's in perfect condition. Yay! I'm so thankful to have it. Fingers crossed - I'm hoping to sell my car today. A friend of mine is taking it to the shop today to have it checked over. If all goes well she'll have my car and I'll have a little bit of dough!

Well, anyway, it's Hump Day!!!! We are inching closer to the weekend.

Part II

Part II...

I leave the party and I literally drive about two blocks down the road to meet up with some people from my bowling team.

It was supposed to be the whole team, but a few people backed out and it ended up being just me and Danny for a little while until a slew of his friends showed up and they were really cool.

I guess a bunch of undercover police showed up and they were looking to start trouble. Whatever. The place was reaching full capacity anyway and do you know how weird it is to hear REALLY LOUD techno music blaring from the speakers of a place that's really just a local restaurant/bar with slot machines? Annoying!

So we hit the road and go to another local joint and I'm just enjoying good conversation and of course lousy slot machines that aren't paying out when I look up and I see this slutty girl Brandy sitting on top of the bar, wearing a dress, legs spread and this other guy taking his shirt off - in the bar and he's like about to go down on her - did I mention we were in the bar?????? They were putting on the quite the show and we were all sitting back laughing.

Anyway, they disappear for a while - a really long while. I thought they went home. So, I look at my watch and it's 4 in the morning and now I have to go to the bathroom really bad.

I go in, and I swear to god these two morons were having sex up against the sink. I'm like "uh, sorry guys - I gotta pee) and they fucking keep going! I'm in there trying pee as fast as humanly possible and she's like "wait a minute - let's just wait until she leaves" and he's like "nah - fuck that", but he's mumbling because he's fucked up out of his mind. I'm pretty sure cocaine played a big role in that too because they were in and out of the bathroom at separate times all night.

So, I'm peeing and he's like slamming her up against he mirrors and the wall and of course she's sitting on top of the sink so I didn't dare wash my hands when I left.

I promptly go into the bar and tell EVERYONE that they were fucking in the bathroom and like 5 people go in there to watch the show. It was hilarious. They were harassing her so much, she started crying. Stupid slut. Serves her right. What kind of fucking whore fucks in a public bathroom and then keeps going when someone is in there peeing? White trash! Anyway, they actually rode with us from the 1st place to this 2nd place and we left them there.

One of the guys was nice enough to clear out the men's bathroom for me so I could go in and wash my hands. Good fucking times. This is why I don't go out anymore.

Happy Election Day!!!!

Halloween - Part I

So, this is how Halloween went down. I knew about the party at Drama Queen's house and I was definitely going. And then as the weeks went by I decided I wasn't going. And then, of course, at the last minute I decided to go to the party. I literally pulled up out front of the Party Store to find a costume at 5 p.m. on Halloween night. There was a line wrapped around the store. It was fucking insane. How could I even complain about people waiting until the last minute when I was one of those people who waited until the last minute? Duh!

Like the last Halloween store I went to, there was one bathroom in the place and it was converted into a dressing room. The line was about 4 deep in front of me and I had about 8 costumes in hand.

And, don't even get me started about the 19 year old overzealous kid that was monitoring the bathroom/dressing room. He literally took one costume out of the bag, handed it to you and then made you go in and try it on one by one. When you were finished with the first one, you had to put your clothes back on, open the door and give him back the first costume and then he would hand you the next costume. Let me be the first to tell you - this is not a time saving technique. My guess is that they have a lot of problems with theft, but this annoying routine made me want to steal that damn costume more and more. Luckily, I wasn't in the mood to go to jail that night.

The goal was to find a fairy or a geisha girl like the ones we voted for a few weeks ago. Unfortunately everything was picked over which was to be expected considering I waited until the very last minute.

Of course the other problem is that the costumes look NOTHING like the picture. I mean, once you get that wrinkled, plastic, cheap mess out of the package and put it on your 5 foot something imperfect body and you look nothing like the hot 6 foot model on the package - well - it's disappointing to say the least. Basically, I've come to the harsh realization that I can't wear anything with tulle in the skirt because it makes my legs look fat, I can't wear a skirt that's too too short because again, I hate my legs and my butt and I have cellulite. I can't wear light colored pants that are too tight because it emphasizes my ass. There are a lot of rules and regulations I have to adhere to when purchasing a costume, and most importantly, I knew I was only going to wear it once and I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I finally settled on a Sexy Samurai chick and of course, nobody even knew what I was supposed to be, because I was too cheap to buy the sword.

Hilary and I...

Anyway, the outfit served it's purpose. I went to the party, I didn't spend too much money and now I can throw it in the garbage if I want because I doubt I'll ever wear it again. The damn thing was so short that I literally felt like a hooker.

A ton of people showed up at DQ's house for the party. He has a nice house and it's good for having people over - but not too many people because it's not that big. There were definitely too many people there - they literally had to set a table up in the garage to play spades.

Here a few of the costumes...

Blake as a hockey player (I love the name Blake by the way) and his cute little girlfriend as the referee.

Sexy Nurse (personally, she thinks she's way too hot for my taste - I'm not a big fan) and Chris as a very bloody surgeon. Gross!

Nick as Hannibal Lecter

Phil as the Nekkid Cowboy

Parker and Melisa as Sexy Cop and Gypsy Chick

And then,of course, Drama Queen dressed up as a Beastie Boy - Not a far stretch huh??

And, my personal favorite - this is Charles dressed up as a girl - please - tell me he couldn't pass as a girl in the right lighting? Holy shit - he has legs that go on for days!!

Stay tuned to find out about Part II of my Halloween night - it gets significantly much more interesting.

To be continued...
